Summer Love

Chapter 3

My uncle’s house was only a block away from the beach. I was already in my bikini under my clothes so I ran back downstairs, quickly kissed my mom good-bye and made my way for the white sand.

The white grains squished between my toes as my sun absorbed the probably very harmful rays. But, I didn’t care one bit. I was going to squeeze every drop of summer here, and no one was going to stop me. Except maybe the incoming volleyball approaching my face at a rapid speed.

“What the f –“ I shouted as I fell back onto the sand, holding my forehead where I was just hit.

“Oh, sh/t! I’m so sorry! Me and my friends were just messing around a – Hey, where are you going?” I began to walk away from the very attractive boy as he rambled on and on. I was fine, there was no need to apologize. “Are you okay, at least?” Great, he was following me.

“Yes.”

“You don’t seem okay.”

“Well, I am.”

“You sure?”

“Yes!”

“OK, OK, calm down there! I’m Keaton, by the way,” I looked up to see his perfect smile. I couldn’t help but smile back. His smile was just so big and happy.

“Autumn,”

“It’s summer, sweetheart,” A confused expression was painted on Keaton’s face.

“No, no. My name is Autumn. Trust me, I know it’s summer.” I chuckled. He was so adorable!

“Ohh! Man, I’m sorry! That’s a pretty name though,” Keaton smiled before repeating: “Autumn.”

I spent the next two hours with Keaton, just getting to know him and him getting to know me. Of course, at the end of our little hang out session, he got my number and I got his.
