If guns were illegal it would be so much harder for these criminals to get possession of a gun. At the moment, it's perfectly fine to walk around with one in America. It's like me walking into a school with a chainsaw!

THat's the next thing they'll do if we ban guns is come in to a school with a chainsaw and hack up the little kids into pieces. He broke like 20 something laws, what makes you think he wouldn't break a few more. And no, It wouldn't make it harder, it'd make it easier, because they'd obtain them illegally. No, I do not think what he did was right, but banning guns wouldn't slove much either. It would just make the persons crimes a little more henious.

The point us, people would notice if you walked into town with a chainsaw on and you went into a school. People could be more aware what was happening, whereas if you walk around with a gun people don't raise their suspicious because it's perfectly legal. That's all I'm saying about it.

Guns should be banned in America. In Australia where I live, guns are banned. The rate of massacres and murders have dropped significantly since fire weapons have been banned in Australia. There has been a number of massacres in the USA this year, the Aurora massacre which killed 12 people and injured 58 and now this Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting killed 20 YOUNG children that were aged between 5-6 years old and 6 adults. 20 children, who had futures and dreams killed because of Adam Lanza. If guns were banned before this massacre happened those 20 children would still be here. All it took for Australia to ban guns is that Port Arthur cafe massacre in 1996 that killed 35 and injured 23. Whats going to happen next time? Is someone going to kill 50 young children with a gun?

Just because guns are banned doesn't mean people won't get killed. Knives, bombs, poisons. Plus, people will smuggle guns in through Mexico and it'll be easier to buy them illegally. Either way, killings will still happen. We're all f*cked in the USA.

We cannot simply "ban" guns here. It would be unconstiutional. The Right to Bear Arms is the Second Amendment. Which means it's in our Bill of Rights. As everyone else has said previously, banning guns will do absolutely nothing. Just because it worked in Australia, that doesn't mean it would work here.

it MAY work, isn't that worth it? isn't that worth the lives of many people? in the us there die annually 11127 people because of guns, in europe, that is about 60 in each country I get that the us is bigger, but it might be wotrh it, for the children

The thing is though, most of the people who are the shooters in these tragedies aren't "criminals" but rather mentally insane. People who murder, yes they could still get guns. People who kill 20 children don't comprehend why its wrong, they cant, they are mentally incapable. And it is those people we need to keep guns away from, we don't need to ban all guns, but we need to make sure that only mentally stable people have access to them.

Even if no Americans had guns they'd find a way to do damage. The day after the shooting a man in China went into a school and stabbed 20 kids. Stabbed. Not shot. Doesn't matter what they can find.

Moreover, it'll make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to acquire a method of protecting themselves that is up to par with the criminals who possess firearms. Criminals will get guns. And if a law-abiding citizen can only defend himself with a legal-length knife and the criminal has an illegal gun, the good guy is going to lose. Pro Second Amendment.

gun laws would make it harder for someone to buy a gun. right now, background checks for buying a gun lasts like 10 minutes. if there were gun laws, then it would be a lot harder for just anyone to purchase a gun, and this would indirectly prevent shootings.

No.. it would not... Why do you think it's so easy for kids to get pot? Because it's illegal, and they don't need a liscense or anything they just need 20 bucks. So if they were to ban guns. People would start smuggling guns into the country and then people would sell guns just as they would drugs, it be so easy a 12 year old could be a fully auto gun.. that's so safe.
