Tell Me A Lie
~Chapter 6~
After a week of calling the suicide hotline for a week.. I decide I do need help. If Niall's the one who'll help me get it, then fine, I'll go to him. I just can't live like this. And as much as I want to lose weight and be beautiful, I need help. I dial Niall's number. "Taylor," He says, sounding happy to hear from me. "Niall.. I need help," I say with a shaky voice. "I'll be right over," He promises, then we hang up. I love him so fricken much. "Taylor?" Niall's voice says behind my door fifteen minutes later. "Come in," I whisper. The door opens and Niall appears.
"Niall," I whisper as I fall into his arms. It feels so good and so right to be held like this by him. "Tell me, baby, tell me," He whispers into my ear. "I can't," I barely breathe. He looks hurt but he nods. "You want to see the shrin- therapist?" He asks. I nod, "Please." He says the building is close so we walk there together. "What made you decide?" He asks while we wait in the waiting room. "A thought I had," I mumble. "Miss Taylor?" A lady asks. I stand up, "He's ready for you," She smiles gently. I walk down the hall and into a room, sitting in a chair. "Hello Taylor, I'm Dr. Greene," The man smiles and sticks out his hand. I shake it. We do all the beginning things, the intorductions and such.
"How have you been feeling lately?" He asks, jotting things on his note pad. I wonder if what he writes is bad. I imagine "PHYSO" written on the page.
"Unworthy, ugly, fat.." I trail off. "Anything else?" He asks, mantaining eye contact. "Like I should kill myself," I whisper. "But not like you want to, just like you should?" He clarifies. I nod. "Why did all of this start?" He asks. "I'm dating.. or I was.. dating Niall, he's a in a band," I begin. The doctor nods, "One Direction, my girls are big fans," He laughs. I crack a smile. "Well, some fans don't like me so much, I've been getting hate mail, lately it's been.. just too much," I say slowly. He nods, "Did you report it?" He asks. I shake my head, "There's too many,literally thousands." I mumble. "That's a lot of people telling you you aren't good enough," He nods. I agree. "But Niall thinks you are," He points out. I smile, "Yeah, he does." "So what's the problem here?" He asks me, "The problem.. is that I don't think I am anymore." I whisper.
"But only because the fans made you feel that way," He notes. I nod. "It didn't use to bother me so much," I whisper. "Have you ever thought of ways to remove the problem.. Besides killing yourself, or straving yourself, or throwing up?" The doctor asks. I shake my head, "I can only give them what they want," I say, confused. "Well what do you want?" He asks. "Niall," I say with a smile. "And he wants you and loves you too, correct?" He smiles. I nod.
"I'm going to give you an idea, just an option!" He begins. I nod. "Now, for your safety and best interest, we either have to get rid of the problem by removing yourself from Niall," He begins. I shake my head, "Not possible." He nods. "I know. Have you ever thought of making Niall chose?" He asks. "Chose?" I ask, confused. He nods, "Between you and the fans?" My eyes get wide. That's something I never thought of.
"I can't do that," I whisper. "It'd be for your best interest," He says, frowning a little bit. "I can't." I say stubbornly.
"Why not?" Dr. Greene asks. I feel tears sting my eyes, I try to fight them, but they fall anyway. I bite my lip. I could ask Niall.. It's not an option I had ever even considered. I'd always thought the problem was me. I start to cry harder, knowing the truth.
"Taylor?" Dr. Greene repeats his question.
"Because he wouldn't chose me."
