I hadn't seen Carson all week, I had called Emilee to pick me up a few blocks away from Carson's house. Marco came home, I'd be getting married in a week. I felt awfully guilty about sleeping with Carson but then again, I should. "Hey gorgeous," Marco said giving me a kiss. I was always comparing Marco's kisses to Carson's.
“Hi,” I said quietly.
“I love you.”
“I love you too,” I replied stiffly. Honestly I didn't feel the same way about Marco as I did when we first met.
“I can't wait to be married to you.”
“I need to go to the supermarket, alright?”
“Okay.”
“Bye, see you soon.”
“Bye babe.” I drove to the supermarket, getting everything I'd need for making dinner. “Ms Keepers!” a voice yelled. I noticed one of my students, a boy from the eleventh grade. He was one of those popular kids, I wondered why he didn't just ignore me. If I had ever seen a teacher out of school I would ignore them.
“Hi, Benjamin,” I said.
“Ben, why are you – Avalaya?” Carson said. Oh great, just my f/cken luck.
“Nice seeing you Benjamin, I've got to get going.”
“Princess, I'm sorry,” Carson's voice broke at the end.
“Carson, we need to go,” Benjamin said.
“You go, here take my keys.” Carson threw Benjamin his keys.
“Carson go with him, I don't want to talk to you. We don't need to talk!”
“Of course we do!”
“I'm just going to go,'' Benjamin said awkwardly.
“I'm sorry for the way I acted, Avalaya. I didn't mean to be a d/ckhead. What I said was way out of line, okay? I'm sorry and I know it won't fix anything but I just needed you to know.”
“I'm sorry as well,” I confessed.
“Hey Avalaya?”
“Yes?”
“When we uh, when we slept together I didn't use a condom.” I stiffened, not because I was scared I was pregnant.
“Doesn't matter, I can't have kids.”
