Exactly, and that's what people try and do and vote with. I'm like no keep the religion with the church and the basics, and logic with the government. This isn't how the U.S is supposed to work, this is a DEMOCRACY not at THEOCRACY.

I think people need to look up the definition of 'separation of church and state'. Because fine, believe whatever your religion tells you to believe, that's your personal choice. What people don't seem to understand is that the US Government is NOT supposed to be biased towards ANY religion.

Yeah I understand, and they use reasoning from the bible. And I don't care when people use their religion to run their lives but when they use it to try and run others lives it makes me angry.

you may think your parents are "packed full of ignorance and intolerance" but they have their reasons. i mean i dont know your parents, but i heard in some religions they believe that when gays are accepted, the world will end. Or your parents may believe that its a sin, cause of their religion. Sure, gays may deserve their independence, but you just have to understand and accept no matter what you try to do or say, that not everyone is okay with gay marriage.

I don't see what people have against being gay! It's life. I know loads of people that are gay, and people make them feel bad about it, but if it's what they want, they should be proud, and people shouldn't take the mick out of them for it! No offence to anyone

Thanks to everyone, but the amendment was passed, too many people voted for it. :/
