To be honest, I think this is naive. People change, things change, everything changes. The average marriage lasts eight years, and that's if you even marry your crush. As you get to know someone better, you discover a whole new realm of things you really dislike about them, and that's really off-putting. So, my point is that this will never happy. Or, the chances are extremely improbable.
