Beautiful Disaster
Chapter 27: Taylor's POV
"Hey, wanna come over?" Brett asked over the phone, and I grinned.
"Sure, I'll be there in a few." I said, and we hung up.
I rolled off my bed, and walked into my closet.
It was Saturday, and I hadn't gottten dressed out of my pajamas at all today. I was way too lazy to.
I quickly changed into a simple purple tanktop, my favorite black jeans, and slipped on my white vans as I ran down the steps.
"Bye Tara, I'm going out." I said to my sister, who was watching t.v. with her boyfriend, Derek, on the couch.
She smiled at me briefly and gave me a small wave, quickly going back to watching the movie.
I laughed quietly, and rolled my eyes at how hypontized they were, before leaving the house.
As I pulled up to Brett's house, I knocked on the front door, and he quickly opened it up.
"Hey Tay," he grinned, and we walked in the house.
"Okay, so i narrowed it down to Paranormal Activity, and Nightmare on Elm Street." he said, holding each movie up.
I rolled my eyes, and he laughed.
Brett knew I hated horror movies more than anything.
It wasn't that they spooked me out, or scared me. They were just so stupid and predictable.
Okay, maybe they scared me too, just a little bit.
"How about we watch Taken," I suggested, "that's a quality movie."
Brett chuckled, and shook his head, "Nice try, beautiful, but that's not happenning."
I rolled my eyes and plopped onto the couch with a pout on my face.
Brett eyed me as he put the movie in the DVD player, then sat beside me.
"Come on, Taylor. These movies are all Hollywood. Do you really think the demon possess some woman?" he asked, and I nodded my head.
"You really are such a child," he said, before he stood up, "Do you want a snack? I'll make popcorn."
I bit my lip, and shook my head to him.
"I'm fine, Brett. I ate before I came." I reassured, but Brett didn't believe me. I could tell.
"Taylor," he said, and I knew he was going to begin lecturing me, trying to talk me into getting something. Luckily, my phone rang.
I shrugged to him, and pointed to my ringing phone, before picking up Kerrie's call.
"Hey! Taylor, want to go get something to eat? We haven't hung out all week." she asked.
I looked over to the kitchen, where Brett was pouring two glasses of soda.
I hated not being with Kerrie as much as usual. But it was different now that we each had a guy.
There were days she'd be with Ryan, and I'd be at home, and vice versa.
Other times, we'd be busy with school work, family, or anything else!
"I can't, I have a project I really need to get finished before Monday." I lied, feeling terrible.
As much as I wanted to go out with Kerrie, I couldn't just ditch Brett. It wasn't fair. He did invite me over first.
Besides, even if I did choose to go with Kerrie, I wouldn't want to just invite him to join the two of us. It's the two of us.
I heard her sigh, before she replied, "S//t. That sucks. But what about brunch tomorrow?"
I smiled, happy that she understood. Even though she didn't really know the truth.
"Of course, Ker. Call me when you want to go, and I'll come pick you up." Kerrie agreed, and we said our goodbyes.
"Who was that?" Brett asked, bringing in two glasses of coke, and a huge bowl of popcorn.
"Kerrie, she just wanted to know if we could hang out tomorrow," I shrugged.
Brett nodded, and we fell back into our spots on the couch.
"I didn't want to leave you with nothing, so I got you a coke." Brett smiled, holding up a glass.
I hesistated, then took the glass and took a sip, making Brett's eyes nearly light up.
I'd much rather see Brett happy with me drinking soda, then have his upset that I wasn't having anything.
Besides, I could find some way to work off these few calories, I've been meaning to go on a jog for a while. Tomorrow could be a good time to do that.
"You know, Taylor, I really hate how you do that to yourself." Brett blurted out, as the previews kept playing, and I raised an eyebrow.
"Do what?" I asked, and he groaned lowly.
"Don't play dumb, you know what I mean. You don't have to do all that to be beautiful." he said lowly, squeezing my opposite shoulder quickly.
I sighed, looking at the t.v., and laid my head on his shoulder.
"How would you know? It's not like you knew me before this." I mumbled, slightly annoyed.
"So? There's still no doubt in my mind that you weren't as beautiful as you have been since I met you." he winked, and I shoved his shoulder.
"Oh shut up, flattering gets you nowhere." I said, crossing my arms as I sat upright.
Brett stretched his arms straight up before shrugging one shoulder.
"It's not really flattery if it's the truth," he said, and I felt myself blushing.
Brett obviously noticed, because he snickered before glancing at the t.v., where the movie was starting.
"Hey, did you know this was apparently based on a true story?" Brett smirked.
My mouthed dropped, and I slapped him so hard on the shoulder that he jumped slightly.
Oh, he so deserved that one.
Why did nobody show me polyvore earlier?! It's like my dream closet!:D Also, I know I'm posting a lot, but I have so many ideas!:O
