If Only Love were that Easy...
Chapter One
Neither of us could stand to look the other in the eye as we silently stood in front of one another. The snow around us softly fell to the ground and I could feel the tears welling up behind my eyes. Everything that had happened from the past year up until this exact moment all came back to me in a rush, and I almost let myself break down right then and there.
But I couldn't let myself fall apart in front of Breydon. There was no way I was going to let him see just how much he hurt me. After all, it wasn't like he cared anyways, otherwise we wouldn't be standing here, waiting on the other to say something.
"It' wasn't supposed to turn out like this, Kloey." spoke Breydon's gentle voice, reminding me of the guy he use to be. But that Breydon was gone, and now I was left with a ghost of who he use to be.
I would have given anything just to let myself go, falling into Breydon and letting him comfort me like he had so many nights before this one. But too much had happened to turn back now. Nothing Breydon said or did would ever change the hurt and pain he had caused me.
"I guess not everything turns out the way we want it too," I replied, turning around and walking away.
It took every last ounce of strength I had in me not to turn around and go back to him, the guy who was such a big part of my life for the last year and a half; the guy who I spent countless late nights and lazy days with; the guy who held me in his arms and made me feel so safe and comfortable, like he had taken me to another world; the guy who made me feel so special, I had fallen for him.
It's not like I had expected us to be together forever. I just wish that in the end we wouldn't have ended so badly. A huge part of my life had just been taken away and I didn't know what to do with myself. I got to my car and when I got in the drivers seat I just sat there, the door open, and let the tears spill out. I cried for everything that had happened. I cried for loosing Breydon, and for everything he did too me.
