Chapter 3
In high school, I wasn't the popular girl who got 40 likes on a profile picture of Facebook. Nor was I the anti-social girl who sat alone at lunch. I was plain old average.
I never had a boyfriend and I never had my first kiss. That's why i'm so insecure about my looks and I wish I wasn't. But entering high school I had one goal in mind. And that was to get out of Cameron's shadow.

I walked into my first class English. We had a sub! Yeaah Man! I sat next to my good friend Gabby. "Hey! Who's this guy?" I asked, putting my Vera Bradley tote bag down.
"This old guy claims he worked here as a basketball coach here in the 90s! I think his name is Mr. Grow, Greer? I dunno." Gabby whispered.
I couldn't help but laugh. The bell rang and the sub began to clear his throat.
"Hi. My name is Mr. Greer. Mrs. Lynch is out today for unknown reasons. So lets start with attendence." he said, putting on his glasses. He began to read off the list.
"Psst! Callahan! Are you going to Matt's party this Friday?" Gia whispered.
I blushed. I had a HUGE crush on Matt that no one knows about. Not even Marissa!
"I wasn't invited! But theres-"
"Ky-Ra Callahan?" Mr. Greer called out.
Everybody laughed.
"No its Key-Rah!" I pronounced. I could feel my checks getting red and hot.
The sub took of his glasses. "Are you related to Cameron Callahan?"
"Yeah!!" some boys hollered. "Star QB and point guard!!" another boy shouted.
I looked down. So much for trying to live out of your brothers shadow! I thought.
"Yes." i said, finally looking up.
"Great kid, great athlete!" he said.
"Yep." i replied, annoyed
"Lets move on.." he said, putting on his glasses and reading off the attendance.
