Lucy POV
It’s the first day of high school. D*mn I am so nervous. I should probably introduce myself shouldn’t I...? Hi, my name is Lucy Petres. It’s pronounced like pet trees. I don’t have many friends; I have a few really close girlfriends and then my best friend, josh. Unfortunately he goes the rival school so I don’t see him all the time.
I get on the bus for school and see Carolyn. She is one of my closest girlfriends. “Heyy Lu! What’s up darling?” she screams right in my ear. “I see you’ve had coffee this morning. Heyy babe, I am okay I guess.” I say. “Missing Josh already? Don’t. We are finally in high school! Aren’t you the least bit excited?” Carolyn says. “Well of course I am. We are finally only 4 years from graduating. Four years from freedom. Hell yes I am excited. So we are definatly walking tomorrow, okie dokie.” “God you really hate school don’t you. And yes we are walking tomorrow.” Says Carolyn.
We finally arrive at school and I see all of my other friends. I am only really close with Carolyn, Gabby, and Molly. I compare schedules with everyone and throw my stuff in my locker. I just noticed my locker buddy when he says hi. “Yo, my names Luke. I’m a freshman. What about you?” he says “Um.. I’m Lucy, freshman. Are you new?” I ask. “yeah, that obvious huh.” He states. “no, I just know everyone in our grade and I didn’t recognize you. Where are you from?”I say. “California. So you must be popular if you know everyone.”says Luke. “No, not at all. I just have played varsity lacrosse since 7th grade so I know most of the older kids and our grade is small.” I say. “oh, okay. ” Bell rings. “ sorry I gotta go” I say. Okay, Goodbye Lucy. It was a pleasure meeting you.” He gives me one of those half smiles.
As I arrive in homeroom I notice that I have no friends in this class. This is gonna be great, I think sarcastically. I sit down in the back and start doodling in my binders. Luke walks in and comes to sit next to me. I ignore him and keep doodling but he starts talking to me. I don’t listen so I have no idea what he said all homeroom. We listen to announcements and Mrs. Sperry, my homeroom and 1st period teacher, tells me that I am needed in the office. I walk down and see Mrs. Bogner, the school counselor, waiting for me. “Hi Lucy, Could you do me a favor?” She asks me. “Sure, what’s up?” I ask. “We have a new student that’s in all of your classes and I was wondering if you could show him around.” She says. “Of course, what’s his name?” “ his name is Luke Fanster, and I think his locker is right next to yours.” “ Oh yeah, I met him this morning.” I say trying to hide my disappointment. he is kinda annoying, I think. “ okay then you can go back to class.” “Good bye Mrs. Bogner.” I say sugar coating my voice like I do when I talk to adults.
The first few chapters might be boring because i have to explain everything.
