I told him I hated him, and maybe sometimes I did.
Because there was no one else who could fuel my fire
quite so easily. Nobody could make me as frustrated
or flustered as him. Him with the dark eyes and dark
hair, him so effortlessly beautiful and so tantalizingly
cold. Him who let no one in and him who claimed to
hate the world. Him with a frozen heart. Him who
needed my love more than anyone else, and him who
had acquired it.

It was once a world I knew was happy
I used to love walking outside and feeling the sun upon my face
I loved the feeling of the wind whipping my hair around in a chocolate blur
I would melt when my bare feet hit the freshly cut grass,
But now….
All I ever hear is raindrops upon my roof.
The sun hasn’t graced my skin with its lips in months
And when the wind whips I am cold and shivering.

I wish I could say that I still feel happiness.
Maybe somewhere deep down I do-
But all I know now at the moment
Is a world full of gray.

There's a cold dark corner
in the back of my room,
it speaks to me
and says I'm coming for you.
As I lie on my bed
in the fetal position,
my eyes are closed
hoping and wishing.
Maybe that one day
my dreams will come true,
that I don't have to be here
so down and blue.
The corner keeps talking
about how I'm going to die,
all I can do
is lie there and cry.
As the corner gets closer
and takes me in,
my soul starts to burn
as so does my skin.
My bones shall lie there
turning to dust,
my bed surrounding
nothing but rust

he was a poem. a really terrible,
beautiful poem i couldn’t get out
of my mind. he was confusing and
scattered and painful all at once.
still, he was my favourite poem.
a poem i would later come to call
love.

This world has taught me to always look at things with a critical eye-
and to always be the distant one, in order to save yourself from being left behind
to always put yourself first: because no one else will –
and to always view things with a sense of humour, but to never take crap from anybody.
This world has taught me to be the controlling one, to never be controlled –
and to always smile, yes; but also have time to cry
but to never cry in front of anyone, because that displays weakness and weakness is always wrong.
This world has taught me that being vulnerable will get you nowhere, and let’s face it-
sympathy is an extinct emotion, the mere traces of it left behind on the fake smiles on people’s faces
because that is all that’s left of our materialistic world and everyone in it.
This world has taught me that caring for anyone other than yourself is pointless
because in the end you become the useless one.
Yes, the world has taught me many things; but I can’t seem to learn my lesson.
