"Rise and shine, baby girl," my dad said opening my curtains.
I squinted for a few seconds and then rolled over onto the floor.
Within 20 minutes I was dressed, fed, and out the door on my way to school.
I walked through the doors, to see that everyone was staring at me.
I turned around to see if there was something behind me, there wasn't.
I then pulled out my cosmetic mirror and checked if something was wrong with my face, there wasn't.
Then finally, someone screamed out to me.
"PRUUUDDDEEEEEE!" And to that, the whole hallway errupted in laughter.
I know I'm a virgin, never had a boyfriend either, but is that wrong?
I'm only 17, and I'm not trying to get pregnant in my school years.
But then again, how did they know this already considering I'm new here?
I went to my first class when the bell rang, not really affected by what had just happened.
"Hey Carly," I said to her as she sat straight up.
She looked at me once and then looked away.
Once it was time for lunch, I went up to the table where I had sat before.
Lauren moved her bag onto the part of the bench where I sat.
"Sorry, this seat is for normal people," she hissed at me.
"N-normal?" I asked, holding my lunch bag in my hand.
"Yes, normal. People who weigh under 115 pounds, people who have SEXX, people who have a pretty face, so you can't sit with us. Not today, not all year, not ever. Sorry new girl, there's a spot for you out by the dumpster, though." The whole cafeteria heard her, and everyone laughed at me once again.
This time, I was embarassed, and on the verge of tears.
I ran out to the bathroom and slammed the stall shut.
"Are you okay?" A girl's voice said from outside the stall.
I recognized this voice... Madeline Kahn?
"Yeah," I said through my trembling face.
"Open the stall, Hali." I did as she said, to see her cat-like eyes staring at me.
"Let me guess, betrayed by so-called 'friends'?" She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.
"How'd you know?" I said wiping my eye.
"Same thing happens every time there's a new girl. One of the guys hits on her, she rejects him, they kick her out of the group and humiliate her. That's what happened to me, too."
"What?"
"I had a miscarriage in ninth grade, they tourmented me for it forever, literally."
"I'm sorry, about both the baby and the biitches." She let out a little laugh and thanked me.
"How about you come over tonight, my brother's having a party, and then you can sleep over after."
"Thank you so much," I said as she grabbed my hand.
I wiped the small amount of makeup that ran from my face.
We walked out of the bathroom and to our next class.
I had art with all sophomores and Madeline, so it couldn't be that bad.
"Draw a wish that you constantly thrive for to come true," the teacher said, moving her hands around a lot.
She gave us all a piece of blank white paper.
I drew a curved line, and on one side wrote 'before', and the other 'after' to represent losing weight, which apparently I needed to do.
"I love this, great work Goodman," the teacher said as she smiled at me.
The final bell rang and I couldn't be happier to leave school.
I managed to slip out to my car unnoticed, thank god.
"Come over at 8, we'll hang out and pregame a little before the party, okay?" Madeline shouted to me as she walked to her car.
I nodded and smiled at Madeline as I got in my car to go home.
