Hidden Beauty
Chapter Sixteen Part Two:
**I'm sorry to change this so late in the story but Abby, Tyler, and Payton are all seventeen. Thanks :)**
I heard footsteps racing upstaires and panicked.
"A-abby stand in front of the door and keep it closed."
"O-okay." Abby sprinted to the door and leaned against the it, pushing all of her weight onto it. I grabbed my large pink tote from Victoria's Secret and threw it at Tyler.
"Hold that open please." He quickly nodded and I pulled open my drawers then threw some clothes in there along with a hairbrush, underwear, a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and other things I thought I might need. Then I threw running shoes and clothes to go outside in. I traded my heels for flats then zipped up the bag and flung it over my shoulder.
"Thanks Ty." My parents banged on the door, trying to get in. I pulled the window open and then threw my bag down.
"Abby let go of the door on three. Tyler, go out threw the window."
"What?"
"Just go!" He jumped out the window and landed on the grass next to my bag. I propped myself on the window, ready to jump.
"Abby once you let go of the door jump okay?"
"Why do I go last?!"
"Just do it!" She sighed then nodded and I began counting.
"One, Two."
I let go of the railing on the window and yelled "Three" to Abby while I was falling. I heard Abby jump out after me. I landed in strong arms and looked up to face Tyler.
"T-thanks."
"Don't worry about it." He smiled and tilted his arms so that I could get down and I slid out then waited for Abby. She crashed on top of me and started giggling uncontrolably.
"Ow, Abbs get off your heavy!"
"Sorry." She stood up and held her hand out, pulling me up.
"It's okay. Let's go before my parents come outside." I picked my bag up from the ground and started sprinting to the park near my house with Tyler and Abby behind me. When we arrived, we all sat on a bench, trying to catch our breath.
"Payton, do you have any idea what were going to do? We can't go back to your house or mine because I texted my brother and told him to tell my parents. They weren't happy."
"Well lucky you, you didn't have to tell them yourself."
Abby's eyes lit up and she squealed loudly.
"Oh my god i'm a genius!"
"Care to share Abbs?"
"Last year, my grandma opened up a bank account for me. It has a lot of cash stored in there. We could get an apartment and live together it would be so much fun! I'll feel a little third wheelish but that's normal."
"Are you sure? I mean were only seventeen. Can we live on our own?"
"Sure we can Payton, were old enough and we have each other. It'll be so much fun!"
"Okay. I guess we could try it, being that we have no other options. I have around seven hundred dollars in my bank account, I could pay for food and utility bills. Plus, I could get a job at the library or one of those restaurants up town. Later at night, we could sneak back to my house and I could grab my car."
"I have three thousand dollars an-"
"Three thousand?!"
"Yes Payton three thousand. My nana likes to throw money away. Anyways like I was saying, I could buy the apartment and pay some of the rent. Nana deposits two hundred a month."
"Well then, this doesn't seem to difficult, yet."
"Told you, it's so easy!"
"Easier said then done Abby."
"Shut up party pooper. What are you gonna do Tyler, your the only one who isn't helping." He rolled his eyes at Abby, as he's done so many times before. Abby bothers him easily.
"I'll buy furniture and anything else we might need. I've already got my job at Sports Athority and I have my car. Although. my parents are probably going to stop paying for it."
"It's fine Tyler, Payton's car is enough."
After staying silent for a little while I finally spoke up.
"Okay well, let's go look for an apartment then."
"This is so cool!" Leave it to Abby to constantly be excited over the worst situations. I pulled my phone out of my back jean pocket and got the newspaper on screen. Abby took it and scanned over it then smiled brightly.
"Look at this one, it's pretty big for an apartment. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, one kitchen, a big backyard, and two extra rooms. Plus, it's only two hundred fifty a month."
"Seriously?"
"Yes! Let's go this is the perfect one, it's even near school!"
"Okay okay, let's go. Where is it?"
"Fifteen miles away."
"Ughhh thats alot of walking."
"Then we'll walk slowly, stop complaining and get your as* off the bench, both of you."
And here goes Abby taking charge. She pulled Tyler and I up to our feet and dragged us towards the apartment. I guess this is where our new life begins.
