    Burnt Back - By Hannah Smith
    A short extract of my Horror story, Burnt Back
    {I turn over in my bed with my eyes half closed, almost asleep. When I notice two glowing dots under my desk. My eyes burst open, wanting to know what the lights are. As my eyes come into focus, I see the outline of a figure. The glowing dots are the eyes of the man crouching under my desk, waiting for me to notice he's there. My mind works quickly though, and I yawn, pretending I haven't noticed him. Then I groan and press my bladder, so he believes that when I get up, I am going to the toilet. I slowly and carefully slump out of my bed, careful not to look at the man. I can still see him out of the corner of my eye when I calmly exit the room, leaving the door wide open. There is no time to shut the door, I quickly and quietly stride down the stairs, and run into the lounge where my parents are watching telly. "We have to get out of the house. NOW." My dad shakes his head, "What are you talking about, honey?" "Dad, we have to call the police. We have to get out of the house!" My mum sighs, "What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare? Don't worry, it was just a dream." "No, mum. Not a dream. There is somebody in my bedroom." Suddenly my parents look worried. "Not a dream?" "No, not a dream. There is someone in my room. We have to get out of the house and call the police... NOW." My mum and dad quickly jump up and run to the door, loudly collecting the keys from the key bowl on the way. I stop them. "Wait! What about Sara?" My parents clasp their hands over their mouths. "I'll get her." I say, tip-toeing up the stairs. As I reach the top step, I look into my room and under my desk. The man isn't there anymore. What do I do? Where is he? He could be in my sisters room bludgeoning her to death already. I look around me. He is nowhere to be seen, none of the windows are open, Sara's door is untouched. What is he is right behind me? I slowly turn around... No one there. I give up on the silent act and charge into Sara's room, but she doesn't wake up. I don't bother to look around me, I just want to get my sister out of the house. I shake Sara violently, "Sara! Sara! Wake up!" She half opens her eyes and grunts. "What?" I carry on shaking her, to make her fully awake "Sara get up. We need to get out of the house NOW." "Leave me alone." "No seriously Sara this isn't a joke. There is a man somewhere in the house, Mum and Dad are calling the Police. We need to get out of here." Suddenly, Sara's eyes widen, and she covers her mouth with her hand and uses the other hand to point to the doorway. But I don't need to look. I can see in the mirror, the silhouette of the man, stood in what was mine and Sara's only escape...}

    People say if you play with fire you'll get burnt.
    I say if you don't play with fire, you'll never know how bad it hurts until you get burnt.

    Burnt Back - By Hannah Smith
    Burnt Back story outline:
    A family of four move into ther new house on a small street in a small countryside village. They know perfectly well that someone died in the recent fire in their new house, but as they are not supersticious they don't care. But when they start seeing him in the house, whenever it's dark, or in reflections, they begin to believe that the ghost of the man is still in the house...
    But they are wrong. Very, very wrong...
    The man never died.
    I will be uploading the story in a minute, I just thought I'd give you a brief outline of the begining of the story.
