"I spend so
much of my time comparing myself to others. Like oh she got a
higher mark on her grade. Or she got seven A's in her report
card while I got 6. She never gets pimples and I do. She's
loud and confident without being obnoxious, and I'm just shy
and anxious all the time. But lately it's gotten to the point
where I don't like the person I am when I am comparing myself
to other people. I realised it was actually ridiculous when it
came down to it. Would anyone compare a penguin to a flamingo? Of
course not. They're both birds but they're still so
different. Some people might find the penguin cuter than the
flamingo, but for others it'd be the other way round. Point
is, don't compare yourself to anybody. It is crazy,
preposterous even, to compare two completely different beings,
with their own separate habitual flaws and intriguing
characteristics. People are people. And people are different.
