it's a show about, and please excuse how stupid this is going to sound; its one of those shows that you just have to watch to understand, a man that is the last of his kind. He is a timelord; an alien from Galifrey and he Travels in his TARDIS, (Time and relative dimension in space) that is a time machine and space ship. It looks like a police box from the outside. He has a soft spot for humans and just loves to save our planet :) he always travels with a companion by his side throughout "all of time and space" omg its so good. I would give you an episode to start with but you just have to watch a couple and then get it. The first episode sets everything up, but its TERRIBLE effects and the newer ones are extremely complicated.
Oh and yeah the doctor regenerates so that he becomes a different man when he dies so that the show keeps going. Its been one for fifty years. :D
