I don't believe in marriage, because it's an archaic system that has has little benefits (save taxes.) Marriage is a piece of paper given to you by the government telling you that they see you as an established couple, it's pointless.

Historically, marriage is the purchase of a woman by a man from her father. Just because something has been done for ages does not mean it has a point. Explain to me one point of marriage except the government and public legally recognizing you as a couple?

Yeah, I know. That's what many people have to do when their marriage is seen as *illegal*, but that doesn't make sense. Marriage laws are stupid. Let a couple be as miserable as other married couples is what my dad says. He's divorced, so I guess he's happy.
