The Letter. THE CHANGE. The Lie.

Chapter 83:       July 18
*Katia's POV*

"Here," I picked up the cup of disgustingly cold coffee and handed it to him

"Err.. thanks," he said taking the cup. "But you really aren't supposed to have coffee with a hang over."

"Oh, yeah," I frowned slightly thinking about how I should of remembered that. "It's probably best you don't drink it anyways. It's cold and probably tastes horrible."

"What is it?" he asked picking the cup up to examine it. His forehead scrunched together as he tried to figure it out.

"I dunno know," I shrugged. "I just said random coffee jargon to the guy and he looked at me as if to say that wasn't even a drink. So I told him I had no idea what I was talking about and he brought me back this."

A low chuckle came from my right and I looked over at him from the corner of my eye thinking of how we were talking like it was any other day. "Thanks for the ibuprofen."

"No problem." we sat in awkward silence for a moment, both of us messing with our cups from the coffee shop.

"Louis," I said right as he said my name.

"You can go first," he told me.

I took a deep breath before starting. "I'm sorry for not talking to you last night but I needed a night to think things through. I needed to figure how I felt on everything before I talked to you."

"But you don't know what happened..."

"Hey now," I said in a joking, yet serious, manner. I wanted to keep things light and playful for as long as possible. "No interrupting. Anyway... I want to hear your side of the story."

"You really told me to stop talking just so you could tell me start talking?" he asked and I smiled at the ground nodding my head. "God you're so weird."

"Are you going to tell me what happened?"

"Yes, yes. Well, I want to start by saying I did not kiss Ashlyn. She kissed me, I swear to God that is the truth." he turned to look me in the eyes as he spoke. I watched as they searched mine, trying to see if what he said soaked in or not.

"Not long after you left I saw her across the room. I thought that by just not drawing attention to myself I would be good."

"You're a member of an international famous boy band, how do you expect..." I started to interrupt him but he interrupted my interruption.

"Hey no interruptions," he mocked me from earlier. I stopped talking and smiled, rolling my eyes slightly. "But anyway, that obviously didn't work out for me and Ashlyn came over. She started talking about stupid sh.t..."

"Language."

"Stupid junk, and then I was telling her to leave when she looked behind me and then the next thing I know she was kissing me and has her arms wrapped around me." He explained.

"But why were your hands on her hips?" I asked. I could believe his story, it was like Ashlyn to do something like that. If his story was true, it isn't hard to believe that Ashlyn kissed him because she saw me walking towards them.

"I went to push her off me and it didn't dawn on me until afterward that that probably looked bad."

It was a poor explanation, and I had a feeling he knew it too. I started to chew on the inside of my cheek when he asked if I believed him. I looked over at him. My eyes didn't wander around his face, instead they reseted on his blue- green pools that had always fascinated me.
