People with eating disorders are almost always supportive of other's recovery.
Why?
Because all it means is less competition.

This makes me want to cry, because it's horrible but completely true.

Interesting, I've never thought of depression as a competitive thing. But that's just me, in what way do you mean?

I guess its not really a competitive thing as much as its an "I dont want anyone else to feel like this, it wouldnt be fair to them" type of thing

Ohhh, yes. I agree with that! But that's more of a caring attitude towards others whereas sometimes eating disorders have more of a selfish attitude.

Its like you feel like everyone else deserves to be happy except you and you feel like youre the only one who needs that saddness and if anyone else has that you feel like you cant

idk if that makes sense at all

Yeah I get what you mean. Kind of like, "nobody understands" sort of thing?

kind of. Its more of a "if you're sad, i cant be sad" sort of thing. Like you feel like everybody elses problems aren't as bad as yours are but yet they are still the person that gets treated as if their problems are the worst thing in the entire world

Okay, I'm getting more and more what you mean when you continue to explain. I personally never really compared my sadness to other people's, but I understand why somebody would. I get annoyed when I think that people are treating their sadness as a trend, but nothing much more than that! If you would keep explaining your opinion I would really appreciate it, because I think it's super interesting! I get what you mean and stuff, I just have never experienced it myself.

its like you always feel sad and you feel like you have the worst problems in the world even if you know you dont but it feels that way and then someone goes and cries over something like a boy not liking them back and they start saying "oh im so depressed" and treat it like its a trend or something and you see that something so little can have such a reaction while youre over there with scars on your wrist and youre at home life sucks and you have nobody noticing that you arent okay it makes you feel worse and more pathetic and more meaningless and you feel like nothing matters to anyone except that one persons problem when there are so many worse things like world hunger and homelessness and it just upsets you to the point where you feel like they dont have the right to be so upset and its not even that you want attention yourself because you dont but you feel like these type of people dont deserve the attention that they're getting with all these other much worse things going on so it drives you to not want anyone to be sad because you cant stand it when someone with boy issues are getting all this attention so you try to keep all the saddness to yourself because you know that nobody will notice that you're sad.

I know, I'm all over the place and I apologize if this doesnt make sense and I'm sure I'm the only one who feels this way amd I dont know why i do, i just do
