Survive or
Die.
Chapter 3
I closed my locker shut
quickly, throwing my bag over my shoulder and placing a grin on
my face as I looked around the hallway. It was the day before
break, and everyone was super excited. I saw Eddie making his
way, a sparkle in his eye as he wrapped his arms around me. He
changed over the last year or two. His hair was short, sort of
like Bieber’s new cut, and he looked much more
“normal” so to speak. He didn’t look like a
person out of place. He started doing sports, and now seemed to
flow with the other students.
“There’s only one more day to go.” He whispered
into my ear, quickly kissing my neck softly.
I giggled and pushed him off of me, untangling myself from
his tight hold.
“Calm your hormones babe. I told him, watching down the
hall to make sure Merel was coming.
Eddie and Merel were being much better together, and actually
getting along most times. Their hatred for each other melted as
two years went by.
I noticed a familiar looking blonde bounding her way down the
hall, and the smile grew on my lips. Merel, again with her cello
case, came running up to us as a squeal escaped her mouth.
“Can you believe its one day away until break? I
don’t have to worry about anything.” She smiled and
hugged me quickly, nodding at Eddie.
“And it’s also one day until the world
ends.”
She said, wiggling her eyebrows up and down. I laughed and
started to walk towards the door, Eddie’s arm flinging over
my shoulder.
“Yeah, ooh. Be prepared for zombies and the world blowing
up.” I joked, rolling my eyes and taking my sunglasses out
of my pocket and placing them on my face.
“It’s so funny how people were freaking out last year
that the end of the world was drawing near, but now that
it’s practically here no one cares.” Merel let out a
soft laugh, shaking her head as she pushed a piece of her hair
behind her ear.
“Do you really still believe that the Mayan’s were
right Mer?” I turned to her and asked, cocking my
eyebrow.
She shrugged, putting her empty hand in her pocket as her feet
scuffed against the ground. We reached the front door and felt
the cool wind hit my face. We lived in California so it
wasn’t snowy out, but it was colder now then it usually is
during this time of year.
My teeth chattered as we walked over to the car, quickly getting
inside. Eddie got in the driver’s side and quickly put the
heat on, making sure we didn’t freeze our a/s’s
off.
“Merel, you really don’t need to believe them. I
mean, the Mayans literally cut their private parts and burned the
blood as a sacrifice fog God’s sake. You can’t
honestly think they were right in every way possible.”
“Well, that’s one thing they were wrong about. But
they’ve been right about almost everything with calendars
and time, moon cycles, everything. They were really
smart.”
I turned around to face her, and I could tell by the look on her
face that she truly did believe the world was going to end.
“Mer, the key word is almost. They were right about
almost everything. They won’t be right about this
though. Okay?”
I told her, watching her slowly nod and try to hide her slightly
shaky hands before turning back around. I felt Eddie’s hand
move to my leg, nudging it slightly. I glanced over at him, and
noticed he was looking at me. The look in his eye almost gave me
the impression that he believed it too. Sighing, I turned and
looked out at the scenery. If the world really did end tomorrow,
well, props to the Mayans for being smarter than most of the
people now a days.
hey ya'll. Sorry I
haven't posted. I actually started to lose interest in the
story, since I'm writing another one I'm really focused
about right now, but I really hope you don't mind on how this
chapter is sort of boring. It will (hopefully) get better. Sorry
if you don't find it good! Oh, and welcome to 2013(: If you
want to be notified, then just comment!
