Yesterday I walked into school

absolutely balling my eyes out. It was

after the first period bell had rung, so I

was the only one in the hallways.

I was making my way to the bathroom

because I wasn't going to walk into

class crying, when a senior I had

never met before pulled me into the

bathroom. Then she pulled me into a

hug.

It was a little weird at first, because I'm

a freshman and I had no idea who she

was, but then she said,

"I don't know what's wrong, but I know

that sometimes life just sucks. I've got

the scars to prove it." Then she pulled

up her sleeve and showed me scars on

her wrists from where she had cut

herself. I was still crying as she pulled

me back into a hug and said,

"This is probably weird for

you, but I know that when I was in

grade 9, crying in the bathroom...

nobody was there for me. So I want

you to know that I'm here for you. I

know what it's like to feel alone, and I

never want anyone to feel like that."

I think it's crazy how someone I've never met

before was a better friend to me then the

people who surround me everyday.
