I picture life as a book.
You write your own story in pen.
You cannot change what you write after it is written. And all of
the people around you, that want to be in your life, they make
marks on the side in pencil. Some pencil marks are darker then
others.
You can try to erase them from your book completely, but deep
down, you'll still see the faint little mark that you know was
from them.
