Tell Me A Lie
~Chapter 4~
I sit on Niall's couch, waiting for Zayn to arrive with his "friend". I chose a loose t shirt with England's flag on it and some black skinny jeans. Niall sits beside me but I slide away. I'm angry at him. "Taylor," He mumbles. "Stop it, Niall." I snap. He sighs. I roll my eyes. He turns on the TV and I stare at the ceiling. "Look Taylor, I'm sorry that you're mad," He whispers, holding my hand. "Why can't you tell me?" I whisper. "I just.. I can't, okay?" I rip my hand from his right as the buzzer rings. We open the door for Zayn and in a few minutes, he's inside. "Hello Taylor," He smiles. I roll my eyes at him too. "This is Dylan," He smiles, "Hello." I wave half heartedly to a tall brunette with bright blue eyes. "Hey," He smiles, shaking my hand.
"Just show him around, yeah?" Zayn laughs. Without a word, I walk out the door. Dylan follows, we walk in silence for a bit before he starts talking, "What's it like?" He asks, staring at the sidewalk as we move. "What's what like?" I ask, confused. "Dating a kid from One Direction," He chuckles. "You're friends with one, it probably feels similar," I smile a little bit. "Well, for me, it's like, I walk around with Zayn and everyone knows who he is, then there's me. And I'm nothing special, it's like.. I'm not worthy or something. I know I'm not the only one thinking it, there's tons of people who are thinking the same thing, why him? Why not some other famous guy?" He trails off. "Yup," I sigh. "It feels the same way for me," I almost laugh. "Like.. I'm pressured to be perfect, because if I'm not.. I'm not good enough for him," I whisper. "Hey, Zayn tells me Niall's crazy about you," Dylan says. "Yeah, but some of his fans? Not so much," I chuckle to myself. "Ahh, hate mail," Dylan sighs. Instantly, I'm more relaxed. Danielle and Eleanor get hate, yeah, but they're famous too. Me? I'm ordinary. And so is Dylan. It's just nice to have someone who gets it.
After about two hours of walking around, we decide to head back. Once we're inside, Zayn's ready to leave. "Taylor," He waves before walking out. "Thanks, for today, it was nice to meet you," Dylan smiles, "You too," I wave, I'll ask Zayn for his number later. I liked talking to him. "Did you have fun?" Niall asks. I can't even try to be mad, I'm in such a good mood after talking with Dylan. "I really did," I smile, sitting in his lap. "How was your day?" I whisper. Niall's face gets serious. Sad, almost. "Look, Taylor, I really need to talk to you," Niall whispers. I sit down across the table from him. "Zayn came over today because his friend, Dylan, has a sister who has suffered from an eating disorder," Niall whispers, not meeting my eyes. "What?" I snap. Then I get it, all the questions Dylan asked about me feeling pressured. He didn't get how I felt, he tricked me. Him and Zayn and Niall. "I was getting nervous for awhile now, Zayn started to see it too. We talked and he talked to Dylan who agreed to talk to you. Dyaln texted us everything you said," Niall whispers. He might be crying. I can't tell. My mind flashes to how often Dylan would check his phone. I get tears in my eyes, feeling betrayed.
"You lied to me," I whisper. "It was for your own good, Taylor," He mumbles. "You tricked me!" I shout, starting to actually cry. "Just say that it's true, I need to hear it from you," Niall whispers. I have no other choice. They tricked me.
"Fine. You want to know? I starve myself every day, and every time you've made me eat something.. I go into the bathroom and make myself throw up!" I scream. Niall cringes, I watch as a tear hits the table under his face. "Why?" He asks, his voice shaking. "Because I don't deserve you, Niall! And every one of your fans know it!" I scream, running to his room. I grab anything I can find that's mine and throw them in a bag. I almost run into Niall. "Where are you going?" He asks, looking into my eyes. "Home." I cry. "You are home," He whispers, his voice sounding broken. I shake my head, "At home, people don't trick you into admitting that you're worthless and no good!" I shout, running down the stairs. I stop at the front door and listen while Niall says "I just don't want to see you hurt," I close my eyes and try to stop crying before I run out the door and slam it as hard as I can.
Then, I turn back to it, whispering to nobody, "Now you don't have to."
