Chocolate chip cookies were a mistake? They were supposed to be chocolate cookies, but the baker ran out of the chocolate she usually used. The baker took semi-sweetend chocolate and broke in into pieces, then threw it into the batter. She that the chocolate would melt into the dough. But when she took the cookies out of the oven, the pieces of chocolate had not melted. Thus inventing chocolate chip cookies!
