Beautiful Disaster
Chapter 6
"So, how was Taylor?" Ryan grinned Monday afternoon
in the locker room, right before practice.
I paused from tying my cleats, and looked up at him, confused.
"What do you mean?"
Ryan looked over to Andrew, Brenden, and Trevor, before they
all burst out into laughter. However, once they noticed I was
joining them, they all stopped.
"Come on, man, we know you and Taylor Shay hooked up on
Friday, so just admit it." Brenden finally said, as he
went to tying his cleats as well.
I raised an eyebrow. I remembered my Friday night clearly, and
that was not apart of it.
"There's not shame in it, she's hot." Andrew
slyly half smiled, leaning against the lockers behind him.
"But we didn't," I said, my voice having some
question in it, which usually happened whenever I'm
confused.
All three of the guys, and a few others who were listening in,
looked towards me. Most of their faces had shock plastered all
over it.
"Quit lying, Brett. You basically own one night party hook
ups." Ryan said, shaking my shoulders, as if it would
knock some sense into me.
"That still doesn't mean me and Taylor did, which we
didn't." I said, as I opened the door to the locker
room, looking back at the guys as I walked out, falling
backwards as I bumped into somebody.
"Ow," I grumbled quietly, as I pulled myself up, to
see Taylor on the ground in front of me.
"What a coincidence." Trevor said, as he and most of
the team walked out of the locker room and passed me by.
I rolled my eyes, and stepped out of the doorway,
"Hey." I smiled.
"Hey," she said, brushing off her shirt and shorts,
"looks like we better get used to finding each other this
way." she said, laughing shortly.
I smiled at the sound of her laugh, unwillingly. I just
couldn't help by how cute it actually sounded.
Wait, what am I saying? Since when has that happened?
"Yeah, if only there was a less painful way." I
shrugged, walking beside her down the hall, " and what
exactly are you staying after for?"
Taylor kicked at a piece of dust in front of her, before
replying. "I'm on the soccer team. What about
you?" she asked, shoving my shoulder to the side,
lightly.
"Same," I nodded, playfully pushing her over as
well.
"Oh really? What position?" she smirked, letting her
bag fall off her shoulders as she tossed it on the ground.
She took a seat on the floor beside it, and patted the other
side, motioning for me to sit.
"Left midfielder, mostly. What about you?" I asked,
as I took a seat next to her.
"Same," she said, "looks like we'll have to
see who's the better of the two of us soon," she
smirked, elbowing my ribs.
I laughed, and lightly pushed her back, "I think I'd
be the winner of that one." I said, proudly.
She rolled her eyes, before I noticed both Ryan and Andrew
coming into my sight in front of me.
"Dude, we gotta go like now, or coach might make us run
suicides all practice." Ryan said, giving me a sly grin,
before motioning for me to get up.
"I'll see you around," I nodded towards her, as
she showed off her perfectly straight teeth with a smile as I
got up.
"Wait!" She said, as I was just barely in hearing
distance of her. She quickly jogged over, reaching into her
pocket.
I expected her to hand me something I'd dropped, much like
the last time we'd ran into each other like this, but
instead, she took a pen out.
She yanked at my arm, and wrote down what seemed to be her
number.
"Call me later, we'll set up our match." she
smirked, giving me a playful wink before walking off.
I looked at my arm for a minute, before Andrew pulled me out
the door.
"Alright, loverboy, I know this is your first crush, but
we gotta go!" he said, making me laugh.
Me? Have a crush? Come on, it's a girl giving me her
number, it's not like it's never happened before.
No matter how perfect she seems.
Alrighty, another chapter! At least they're getting longer
