Chapter 1
I sat in corner of Eleanor’s room waiting for the sound of the door, it was already 11 pm and mum wasn’t back. Eleanor lay there, her eyes were slightly closed but her sleep was deep. I had been sat here watching her sleep for hours, she was scrunched up tightly in ball but yet she looked so relaxed. The room was dead silent.
Finally I heard the sound of the door yes I thought to myself; finally I can get some sleep. I ran into my room and jumped into bed, snuggling up under the quilt. I was starting to doze off when I heard a bang, it had sounded like it came from Eleanor’s room so I decided to check on her. I tiptoed across to hall to Eleanor’s room, but when I got in there Eleanor wasn’t there. I ran over to her bed just to check, but as I pulled over the duvet I saw that all was there was a pool of blood. My knees began to weaken and I fell to the floor in tears… mum had never come home instead an intruder had entered the house and harmed my innocent little sister. I quickly crawled under the bed, I was quite sure no one was in the house anymore but I didn’t want to take any risks. For a few minutes I lay completely still, but then I felt someone’s hand besides me.
