the Murder's Son
 Epilouge:
 Chase's POV:
 
   "Hi mom." I say sadly, walking through the front door after another long day of putting up MISSING posters. It has been one week since Evelyn went missing.
"Hi sweety. No luck today?" she asks gently.
I shake my head no and start to go upstairs.
"Wait, where is dad?" I ask, stopping at the bottom of the stairs.
"At work." she says.
"Still? He has been there for a week striaght! Ever since Eveyln went missing..." I tell her glumly.
I start to go back upstairs when all of the puzzle pieces start to fit together. My eyes open in shock. I run to the front door and down to my dads shop, four blocks away. I call 911 on the way.
I hope I'm not too late.
Ambulance and police cars pass me on the way. I finally get to the workshop, where there is a frenzy of people running around. I walk over to a policeman when I see my dad getting pushed out of his office in handcuffs, a smirk on his face.
"Where is she?!" I scream, running over to a paramedic.
"Where is who?" she asks calm.
"Evelyn! The girl?!" I scream.
The paramedic looks at me sadly.
"I'm sorry... but she is gone. She lost too much blood. We did everything we could."
I stare at her in horror.
"No! S-she can't be g-gone!" I scream, tears streaming down my face.
"I know this is hard but will you come with me?" the paramedic asks.
"Why? Where are we going?" I ask through my tears.
"We need someone to identify her body." she says.
I shake my head yes and they bring me to the morgue.
"Please follow me." a tall man says when I get there.
He leads me through hallways and a bunch of doors untill we finally stop.
I go in and I see Evelyn's beaten and bloody face, her body covered with a white sheet, laying on a metal table. I walk over to her side and start to cry.
"Evelyn... I'm so sorry! This is all my fault!" I say hugging her cold, limp body,
I look at her beautiful face, that is now covered in scratches and bruises.
"I'm so sorry." I whisper, kissing her cold lips for the last time.
I cover her head with the white sheet that is covering the rest of her body.
"Excuse me, sir?" the man asks me.
"Yeah?" I asks him, tears still in my eyes.
"I think this is for you..." he says, handing me an envolope with my name on it.
I take it with shaky hands and open it carefully.
Chase,
Thanks for everything. I'm really going to miss you, but I know I will see you again someday. The puzzle pieces all suddenly fell into place. I  know now why you ignored me and why you were trying to protect me. And I want you to know this is not your fault. Because, in reality, it is my fault. I'm the one who fell in love with The Murder's Son.
