Unexpected Love

Chapter 33

I used Casey's closet again, mostly because I needed to go to school and I didn't feel safe enough to go home quite yet.
I picked a floral top and jeans. I covered up my bruises as best as I could. I smiled as the bruise on my cheek popped out. “Great,” I sighed smiling while putting on the rest of the makeup.
There was a knock on the door and I turned around to see Cody standing with his hands in his pocket. “Ready?” He asked smirking at me.
“Just a sec.” I told him turning back around checking myself over one last time. I turned back to him and he was closer than I thought, his face was close to mine. I lost my thought as I stared at his lips. He laughed pressing them lightly to mine.
He pulled away, and took my hand. “lets go or we'll be late.”
I smiled holding his hand leaning on his shoulder as we walked to his car.
The whole car ride we held hands and we weren't talking, but it was far from awkward.
He pulled into the lot and parked the car. He lifted my hand to his lips and kissed it. I blushed madly as I watched and felt it. He looked me in the eyes for a long moment, when he leaned closer and whispered in my ear, “Come on, you look amazing.” And he kissed my cheek.
“Can you see them?” I asked, feeling my face with my other hand.
“Not really.” He told me looking at my left cheek and I knew he could see it. I looked away from him, “Hey, it doesn't even matter. You look perfect, come on.” He said lifting my chin up and tugging on my hand. I looked at him and he understood how scared I was. He kissed me slowly, building, but as soon as it started going there was a knock on his window.
“Bethany?” He asked rolling down his window.
“What are you doing?” She asked glaring at me.
“Hey, look we need to talk.” Cody began.
“Now. I need to talk to you now.” Bethany told him in a low tone but I could still hear the angry in her voice.
“Sure. You don't mind do you?” He asked turning to me. I shook my head unable to speak.
I tried letting go of his hand but he held tighter. I couldn't help but laugh, I could see that Bethany was annoyed. I opened the door getting out expecting him to let go of my hand I was surprised when I saw him coming out my door as well.
I looked at him confused. “I'm not ready to let go of you yet.” he told me shrugging.
Bethany on the other side of the car was glaring worse than ever, jealous was radiating off her. I smiled because this was the first time I could remember anyone being jealous of me.
“Alone,” Bethany called out.
“Sure, sure.” he told her looking at me.
“I'll see you later.” He told me.
I smiled and nodded. He kissed my cheek and turned to Bethany.
“Lets make this fast.” They walked away together around the school to the back.
What a weird spot?
But I was to distracted by the fact that Cody kept turning around while he was walking.
I shook my head and walked into the school.
