While I was
walking
home I realized I hadn't asked Hanna about Caleb at
all. My little fairytale weekend was over, I needed to
pay attention to what was actually going on. The police
could have found Caleb and I wouldn't have even
known. Ugh all this going on and Matt? How was I
supposed to deal with all of this. I should have just
had Matt come in a couple weeks, not this week. I need
to spend time with my best friend whose boyfriend is
missing, but now that Matt's staying at my
house I have to stay with him. Great. I feel like the
world's worse best friend, and the week just
started. I saw Matt's car down driving down the
street as I neared the driveway with Lilly. As he
pulled in the driveway he rolled down his window.
"Hey, uh I should probably book a hotel now.
What's a good hotel around here?" He asked. I
was tempted to just tell him a hotel so I could spend
time with Hanna, but I knew that wasn't the right
thing to do. I had to deal with the situation the right
way.
"You can just stay at our house," I told
him.
"Really?That's okay with you
parents?"
"Yup," I replied."Let me help you with
your bags." As Matt and I carried our bags into
the house, Kylie ran downstairs.
"That's Kylie, my little sister," I
laughed. Great, she'd probably embarrass me.
"Who's this?" Kylie asked as she looked
up at six foot Matt with her big blue eyes. Matt
squatted so he was her height.
"I'm Matt," he laughed.
"I am Kylie, that's my sister!" she
exclaimed.
"That's a very pretty name," he told her.
Kylie leaned over and whispered in his ear.
"Yes, I do," he told her. What did she
whisper to him?
"You are dismissed," Kylie announced to both
of us. We laughed at her.
"Where should I put my bags?" he asked.
"Up here," I told him as we walked up the
stairs. We walked into my bedroom, it was a little bit
girly for Matt I had to admit. With the purple walls
and everything.
"Is this where I'm staying?" he asked
confused.
"Yeah," I replied smiling. "Theres a
bathroom right there," I said as I pointed the the
door attached to my room. He sat down on my bed and
looked up at me.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked. I
was thinking about Caleb to be honest.
"Nothing," I responded.
"You look worried. What are you really thinking
about babe?"he asked. I sat on my bed next to
him.
"Caleb," I answered, my eyes filling with
tears. Three years ago, Caleb broke my heart. I never
got it back.
