That's the authors purpose. Make readers put thought into it.

Even when he asks you to write something, and he analyse it, he says stuff that you never meant to mean.

This is so true! my english teacher was talking about every aspect of this novel, and told us that everything was put there for a purpose. but im pretty sure the author's just wrote the story :)
