Beautiful Disaster
Chapter 31: Brett's POV
"Dude, you have to tell her," Ryan said, slapping my back encouragingly.
I sighed, and ran both fingers through my hair.
"I don't know if I can yet, you saw the fight the girls got into last week." I said, swinging my backpack over my shoulder.
Ryan shook his head, "So what? Would you rather say it now, and give her time to register it, or just throw it at her a week before?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Ryan did have a point. But now really still wasn't the right time.
Besides, I had until, as of now, the end of June, which was months away from now. I had some time.
"I just have to figure out how to say it," I sighed.
Ryan shrugged, understanding what I meant and took a sip out of the water bottle in his hand.
The two of us made our way to the lobby in silence before Ryan spoke up.
"You know, this really sucks, man." he blurted, and I eyed him, confused.
"The fact that the girls don't even want us to mention the other's name. It's a stupid fight." he continued, and I nodded, agreeing.
"And it's not even like they hate each other, it's obviously Taylor misses hanging out with a girl instead of me," I said, pretty shocked.
Ryan nodded, "Kerrie too. And it's not even like it's over something that makes sense."
I nodded again, agreeing, as we walked out of the school doors.
Once we reached the bottom of the front steps, we stopped.
"You're going with Kerrie today?" I asked, pointing at Ryan.
Ryan nodded, sucking in a deep breath.
"She's dropping me off at my house, then I'm going to some family party with her at 6 ." he said with a small shrug.
I nodded, "That's pretty cool."
Ryan leaned against the school building, "I guess so. What about you and Taylor?" he raised an eyebrow.
"We'll probably just end up finding someplace to eat, nothing fancy." I replied, leaning beside him.
A few minutes later, Kerrie came into our sight from the right of us.
"Hey Ryan!" she smiled, giving him a tight hug before noticing me, "Hey Brett!" she cheerfully said.
I felt a sudden feeling of relief come over me. At least she didn't think I was the blame for the whole Taylor thing.
"Hey," I nodded, feeling my phone buzz in my pocket.
I slipped it out of my pocket, and answered Taylor's call.
"Hey, you're done?" I asked, walking a few steps away from Ryan and Kerrie's "conversation."
And by conversation, I mean, mini make-out session.
"Yeah, I'm walking towards the front of the school now," I heard her say.
"Alright, I'll come and we'll leave, okay?" I said, and she agreed before we hung up.
I turned around, and walked back over to Kerrie and Ryan.
"I gotta go, I'll talk to you tomorrow, man." I said to Ryan, before saying goodbye to Kerrie and walking off to meet Taylor.
"Hey," I said, as I jogged towards her walking in the parking lot.
"Hey!" she smiled, "I didn't want to bother you talking, so I kept going," she shrugged.
"Or, you just didn't want to talk to Kerrie." I grinned, and she rolled her eyes.
"Shut up," she said, gently pushing me, "I apologized like a hundred times, and she hasn't answered. It's not my problem."
I left the conversation there, not wanting to start and arguement, and we both piled into my car.
"Taylor, there's something I think you should really know," I began, as I dug my key into the ignition, hearing the engine rev.
Taylor tossed her things beside mine in the back seat, and pulled on her seatbelt.
"Can we please just talk about it later, I feel like I swam in the ocean, and I really need to shower," she begged, and I sighed.
"I guess so, it's nothing really that important." I lied.
Uh-oh. What's the "not important" thing Brett is hiding?:O Leave you guesses here!
