CHAPTER 28
Lucy's POV
I woke up in Will's house.
This was surreal.
Had I really driven over here last night?
Had Will actually held my hand in my car?
I sat in my car, alone again.
I had to calm down before I could drive.
My mind was racing. My hands were shaking.
I placed them on the steering wheel and squeezed, my knucles turning white in the process.
I had to get home.
I couldn't really move, so I just sat there some more, like a stalker idiot.
"Lucy, what's wrong?" Will asked.
Will was standing out on the soggy grass in his pajamas, speaking through my rolled-down window.
"Uh, nothing. Just tired." I lied. I unlocked the doors and Will climbed in.
"Oh." He said simply. I nodded.
This wasn't happening. This was all a dream.
"You want me to drive you?" Will asked. He looked well-rested and almost happy.
"No, I'll be fine." I said. I hadn't moved since he got into the car.
He placed his hand on my back and sent shivers down my spine, rolling like a shockwave, an electrical circuit, a wave of water in the ocean.
I practiacally jumped out of my skin.
"Woah, sorry." Will said. He had a small smile on his face.
"It's okay." I said. I turned to him now, ready to tell him I had to go. Instead, I grabbed his face in my hands and kissed him.
I wasn't sure why or how, but Will froze.
He couldn't push me; I was a girl and he obviously didn't want to touch my boobs. He had a girlfriend.
Sam. I let go a moved away.
Will's face was emotionless and blank.
"What...?" He said. He gave me look, like a was an evil dictator, or maybe a sports reporter that slept with his wife.
"Will..."
Will shut the car door and ran.
I drove home, curled into a ball, and pretended to be sick. No way I was going to school. I had all my classes with either Will, Sam, Luke, or Penelope.
School was not an option.
