    Chapter 31
Aaron's POV"Okay..." I paused, shaking my head and staring at her, as if she was mad."Just follow the plan," Taylor whispered, nodding her head slowly; her eyes wide open, filled with worriness but at the same time, excitement.I rolled my eyes lightly; a smile playing along my lips, and a clear smirk in my eyes: scintillating. "I'll try-" My words were cut off by a small peck on the cheeks; where a deep red colour decided to appear followed by a burning senstation at the back of my neck.Taylor gave me thumbs up with a cute smile. She turned around and left me at the top of the tower...Taylor laughed, taking my hand and leading me to another place. "Just wait, and everything will be crystal clear,""What do you mean?" I had asked her, raising my eyebrows; and allowing myself to be dragged off by her."You'll see," She giggled, squeezing my hand, tightly; making it go softer and more shapable.Sometimes, I honestly didn't get this girl? She led me to a tower, from where we managed to climb more stairs, which took up most of the time.A cool breeze hit me; calming me down; peaceful, quiet, soft, tender. Taylor's lips clashed on my ear, where she began to whisper. "Listen, I have a plan," Her voice was too faint and faded; I had to make out what she was saying myself.I raised my eyebrow. "What plan?" My voice was a faint whisper; too soft, too slow.Taylor gripped her voice, and let it out firmly, and controlled. "I'll talk to Mark, alone, and tell him how I feel for you," She paused. "He can't refuse me, if I ask him," Taylor bit her lip. "Mark will be more mad if Jason tells him, than if I tell him,"I smirked. "Just remember-I'll be there for you," I leaned in and kissed her forehead, lightly, from where a silent sigh escaped her mouth, letting the warm air escape her mouth and condense onto my neck."You know, we can be great if we get married," She pulled away, smiling at me warmly. What was she on about? "Taylor, you're 16...Don't think that far about life," Taylor rolled her eyes. "I know," "Okay," I paused, shaking my head and staring at her, as if she was mad-"AAron? What're you doing here?" It was Mark. My thoughts were interuppted. My eyes widened. Jason didn't tell Mark, about mine and Taylor's little scene on the stairs? Did he?Taylor just left me here to go and talk to Mark? And Mark is here? Has he already had a chat with Jason?"Fine weather? Don't you think?" Mark laughed, walking towards me and patting me on the shoulder.I dont think Jason has told Mark about me Kissing Taylor; Otherwise why would Mark not be angry? I am safe.My mouth let out a fake laugh. "haha...erh, yeah; great weather," I don't know what Mark was on about. It was windy and cold; and the clouds: black, grey, dark- all the colour had been drained out. My lips felt the small pitter patter of raindrops aswell; i think it was going to rain very heavily, because the clouds soon let out a rumble; scaring me a little, shaking my insides."You're a good mate, Aaron," Mark smiled at me, and then looked straight, out into the distance. "Thats why I wanna ask you something?" He turned his head to me, and tilted it to the side. I looked down immediatley, unable to make good eye contact. "Yeah, What?" I whispered; my voice faint as possible, and very faded."So..I was wondering..When are you going to return back home, eh?" Mark pursed his lips in, squinting his eyes."I'm not sure; I've been here for 4 weeks now; 2 more weeks to go," I slowed my pace down. "The police called; and left a message for you,"My eyes quickly flickered up at him. "What message did they leave?" I whispered; my heart was beating faster and faster, and then slowed down by an unexpected ache. "Your father is ill, and he wants you back," Mark paused. "He is breathing between death and life?" My eyes widened. "What?" I shouted, my voice echoed from side to side, up and down and across the farm land.My father...Does this mean I have to go? and leave Taylor...?Sorry, I didn't write for a while; had 3 exams this week :(

    Chapter 42
    (7 Months Later- July)
I peered out the glass windows of Starbuck's, trying to spot two blonde heads.
Where were they? They were already twenty minutes late.
I tapped my fingers against the counter.
Suddenly, the doors opened, and a head of blonde curls appeared.
She scanned her brown eyes around the room, until they met mine.
"Carson?" she smiled, walking up to me.
"Kristina!" I laughed, embracing her into a tight hug.
"Hey! Gosh, I miss you! Sorry I'm late, traffic." she explained.
Kristina has gotten much tanner over the summer, making her look like a true Malibu Barbie.
"It's fine, and I miss you, too!" I gushed.
"So, you got your little bikini? We're going to the beach." Kristina smiled.
"I'm wearing it under." I smiled, pointing to my ruffled, cream tank top.

"Great, let's go now. Tyson's waiting in the car."
I followed Kristina out of Starbuck's, and we walked down the block.
We approached a silver BMW, as Tyson's sandy blonde hair appeared.
"Tyson!" I beamed, as he opened his arms for me.
I leaped into his arms, as he said, "Carson, it's so good to see you."
"I could say the same. I miss living with you, you always drank the milk out of the carton."
He took his finger, and flicked my nose. "Damn right."
We got inside his air conditioned BMW, and started driving.
We headed towards the route to Venice Beach, and parked.
From the parking lot, I could see a good amount of people, but it wasn't as busy as usual.
Kristina wrapped her arms around mine, as we headed for the beach.
I let the hot sand go in between my toes, as my sandals left imprints.
"Brett!" Tyson suddenly called out, waving his arms in the air.
My eyes grew wide, as I glanced over to the man that was waving back, under the umbrella.
From my distance, I could see there was a girl next to him.
Tyson and Kristina didn't tell me Brett was going to be here today!
    Those bastards...
I wasn't ready to face Brett, after seven months.
After our little exchange of words, Brett moved out of our dorm.
He went and moved in with Drake on the West side of the dorm buildings.
    He never said goodbye.
Kristina tugged my arm, as we became closer and closer to Brett and the girl he was with.
"Hey, man." Brett said to Tyson, doing a weird brotherly hug.
Brett later walked towards Kristina, wrapping her into a friendly hug.
I took in a deep breath, as he let go of her, and slowly came towards me.
From up close, I could tell his hair was wet, which made him look amazing.
    "Hi, Carson." he said calmly.
"Uh, I, uh, hi Brett." I stuttered.
He gave me a smile, but they never reached his eyes.
Was he still angry at me?
"Well, guys, this is the girl I've been talking about this whole time." Brett smiled, gesturing towards the girl.
She was beautiful. She had sleek, brown hair, and looked like an exotic mix with Puerto Rican and French.
"Hi guys, I'm Angela. Brett's girlfriend." she smiled, waving at us.
    B-Brett's what?

    Chapter 41
"The 10:30 P. M flight to Warwick, Rhode Island will be leaving in fifteen minutes." a man announced through the speakers.
I sighed heavily, and turned back to Cassie.
"I'm going to miss you so much." I said, embracing her into a hug.
"Come back to visit soon, okay?" she softly asked, tightening our hug.
    "I will."
"Well, your flight is leaving soon. You should get going." Cassie smiled.
"Okay, I love you, alright?" I smiled back.
"Oh, you know I love you, too." she giggled, pecking my cheek.
I waved to her goodbye, and went in line to hand the lady my ticket.
Before boarding the plane, I waved to Cassie one last time.
    ***
I got out of the elevator, and stepped onto my dorm floor.
I anxiously bit my lip before going in.
I told myself to suck it up, as I twisted the knob open.
All the lights were out, since everyone was probably attending classes right now.
I settled my stuff down in my room, which hadn't changed at all.
I took a shower, and a long nap before I had to attend my evening classes.
I finally woke up at five o'clock. My classes started at six, so I had an hour before.
I gathered all my books, and ate a granola bar before heading out.
I groaned as my professor started talking about his early life as a teen, instead of talking about physics.
He went on about how he studied in school, and I started yawning.
It was so boring, and all I could do was space out while he babbled on.
Classes were over at ten o'clock, and I started making my way back to the dorm.
I could heard faint chattering from outside of my door.
I opened it, and proceeded to go in my room.
I settled my stuff down, but I heard my bedroom door closing behind me.
I jumped, as I turned around to see a figure in the shadows.
I bit my lip, as my body froze.
"Your back, Carson." Brett's husky voice said emotionless.
"B-Brett. What are you doing in here?" I asked.
It was dark in my room, but I could still make out Brett's perfect features in the moonlight.
"Why did you leave?" he asked.
My eyes grew wide, as he stepped into the space between us.
His body was pressed against mine, and my heart started to beat.
"I, uh, needed some time, away." I stuttered.
His hand rose up, as he brushed his thumb across my cheek, making me blush.
"I was worried about you." he muttered.
    "Oh, I'm... s-sorry."
"How could you just leave me like that? After everything that's happening." he asked, pressing his forehead against mine.
    "I didn't mean to."
    "Didn't mean to what?"
    "Hurt you."
"But you still did, now didn't you?" he mumbled.
I swiftly pushed his hands off me, and pulled away from him.
"I don't want to hurt you anymore. That's why you should just move on from Courtney and I. It's what's best." I breathlessly said.
"You really don't want to be with me, don't you?" he asked.
"I do, but- but I can't. Not for a while, at least." I cried.
"Then fine. I'm done moping around for you, Carson. Just pretend I'm dead." Brett spat.
He turned around, and went out the door, closing it behind him.

    Chapter 40
Cassie finally woke up around 11, so we decided to go out to shop in Santa Monica.
The sun was beaming on my face, making me slightly sweaty.
The weather in California was nothing like in Rhode Island.
California was much warmer, while Rhode Island was cooler.
"Hey, let's go in here." Cassie said, tugging my arm.
I followed her into a vintage boutique.
It was pretty creepy inside, considering the fact that the store was dimly lit with candles, and the racks of clothing and accessories were old and rusty.
"What are we doing in here, Cass? It's scary." I shuddered.
She shot me a look. "Don't be such a baby!"
I sighed, as I followed her towards the back of the store, where the cashier was.
The cashier was a woman who looked in her 60's.
She looked tired and bored, tapping her fingers on the wooden counter.
"Excuse me, I heard from a friend that the owner here does fortune telling?" Cassie asked.
The old lady's eyes lit up in a shade of dark grey, as she nodded.
"That would be me, darling." she purred.
"Great." Cassie smiled, as the lady assisted her down on a stool.
She held Cassie's palms out, as she closed her eyes in deep concentration.
Her bony fingers wandered on Cassie's soft skin, as she started to hum.
After a moment, the old lady's eyes shot open, and she stared at Cassie contently.
"I-I see a lot of... money in your future. You'll be a very wealthy woman in no time." the old lady said, nodding her head at Cassie.
    Chills went up my spine.
"Really? Oh, that's great! Thank you! Here." Cassie smiled gratefully, handing the woman twenty dollars.
    "No problem, darling."
We were about to turn around and head out the door, as the woman's voice spoke up, again.
"What about you, sweetie? Don't you want to know about your future?" she asked.
I bit my lip, and slowly turned back to her.
"Oh, that's a great idea! Go, Carson!" Cassie cheered.
"Yes, come my dear." the old lady smiled wickedly.
I hesitated, before sitting on the same stool Cassie did.
She held out my palm, and repeated the process.
Her cold, stony fingers crept up and down my palm, as my heart was thumping.
Her eyes suddenly opened, as a small smile appeared on her lips.
"I see love in your future." she nodded.
    I frowned. "What? When?"
"Well, not until a few years, or so. But, I do see someone dedicating themselves for you."
    Who could it be?
Wait, I didn't believe this fortune crap, did I?
I shook out my thoughts, as I reached in my wallet to hand her a twenty.
"No, no, darling. It's fine." she insisted.
    "What? Why?" I asked.
"I give exceptions for love." she winked.
I was taken aback for a moment, before I nodded.
"Are you sure?" I asked again.
    "Positive."
"Well, thank you?" I said awkwardly.
"It's fine, dear. But, remember to come back and visit me once you found your man."
I took in a deep breath, before nodding.
    "I promise."
Creepy chapter? I think so. ;)
