    Chapter 17
It was finally weekend, and I took a break from study exams and doing annoying essays every night.
Brett and I both woke up at the same time, and watched boring TV shows at seven in the morning.
Don't get me wrong, we still fought and argued, but we didn't hate each other. We just disliked each other.
We stumbled in the kitchen, and I went searching in the fridge.
I found a carton behind all the leftover take out dinner, and got out a glass.
    "Milk?" I asked.
Brett shook his head, and took a seat on the counter.
I opened the carton, expecting fresh milk to come out, but instead, chunks of white stuff came out.
"Brett! What is this?!" I asked, covering my nose from the sour smell.
He made a disgusted face, and covered his face with his hands.
"Get that away from me." he ordered.
"Ugh, no one shops for food around here. This thing expired a week ago." I muttered.
I poured the remaining out in the sink, and threw the carton in the trash.
"Let's go to the market." he suggested.
"At eight in the morning?" I groaned.
"Yeah. Your hungry, I'm hungry. Let's go." he said, getting in his room to get dressed.
I rolled my eyes, and went to get ready, as well.
I pinned my hair up in a messy bun, and applied mascara.
I put on a white hoodie, a grey tank top underneath, a pair of dark distressed skinny jeans, and grey knit boots.
I walked outside, and realized Brett had already been waiting.
"It's about time. You took forever and came out looking like this?" he asked.
I rolled my eyes, and punched his arm lightly.
We walked to the parking lots, and got in his car.
We drove off in silence, until I turned on the radio. On The Floor was on, as I groaned.
"What? You don't like this song?" Brett asked, keeping his eyes on the road.
"No." I grumbled, trying to find another station.
He swatted my hand away, and turned back to On the Floor, and turned it up load.
"Brett!" I snapped, trying to turn it down.
"C'mon. It's not that bad." he smirked.
I groaned, but I was lucky we just got to the supermarket.
"Your buying me whatever I want." I said, as we walked in.
"Your hilarious." he said with no emotion.
We walked to the dairy section, and picked up a fresh carton of milk.
We stopped by the snacks section, and I spotted candy.
"Brett! Brett!" I beamed, pointing to the gummy bears.
    "What?" he asked, irritated.
"Buy me gummy bears?" I asked, with wide eyes.
"Remember Carson? We're college students now. We don't eat gummy bears." he teased, tapping my nose.
I pushed his hand away, and took the pack of gummy bears anyway.
We looked around, and picked up some cereal, fruits, and drinks.
He finally stopped and turned to me. "Really? Carson? Put the gummy bears away."
"Please? I'll pay you back once we get home." I smiled.
    "No Carson-"
"I'll buy you them." someone said.
I turned around and saw Drake.
"Drake! Hey!" I waved, as he walked over to us.
"Hey Carson, hey Brett." he smiled.
"Hey man." Brett said, fist bumping Drake.
"How do you guys know each other?" I asked, confused.
"Yeah. Brett and I go all the way back to basketball camp. Remember?" Drake asked.
"Yeah." Brett said, giving him a half smile.
"And remember the cheering camp just across the lake? Man, those girls were all over us." Drake grinned.
    I suddenly felt uncomfortable.
"Yeah, remember Kylie Baskin? She was a crazy one. Always all over me." Brett bragged.
"Guys! I'm still here." I finally said.
Drake and Brett looked amused, but Drake ruffled my hair.
"Hand me the gummy bears. I'll buy them for you." Drake smiled.
    I rolled my eyes.
"It's the least you can do." I joked.
I shifted my eyes to Brett, who looked just a bit angry. I shrugged it off, it was his signature look, after all.

    Chapter 16
"Hello?" Brett answered after the forth ring.
    "B-Brett?" I asked, sniffling.
"Carson? Is that you?" he asked, with his voice sounding confused.
"Yeah. Could you come pick me up?" I asked, wiping a tear away.
    "What? Where are you?"
"Downtown, outside of Starbuck's." I muffled.
And with that, he hung up on me.
I put my phone back into my clutch, and pressed my head against my palms. I knew tonight was suppose to end up bad, but I didn't know it would end up this bad.
I sat on the curb of Starbuck's for another fifteen minutes, until a black BMW pulled up to the corner of Starbuck's.
Brett came rushing out of the car, and pulling my arm up.
"Let's go back to campus." he quickly said, dragging me behind him.
He threw me in the passenger seat, and buckled my seatbelt, as I tried not to look at him. He probably thought I was useless and stupid.
He started the car, and made a U turn to head back to the dorms.
Without a sound, I stared out in the windows, examining the street lights on the sidewalks.
The whole ride was silent, which only made things worst.
He parked in the parking lots, and we both got out, with him making the lead back to the East side building.
We got in the elevator in silence, and went back to our dorm.
I went straight to my room without saying a word to him. Everything was just happening so fast, I didn't know what to do.
After thirty minutes of tossing and turning in my bed, I decided that I had to talk to Brett.
I couldn't ignore him any longer. It wasn't fixing any problems.
I tip toed outside of his door, next to mine, and lightly knocked.
When I didn't get an answer, I twisted the knob, and pushed the door open swiftly.
Brett was laying face up on his bed, with headphones on.
When he saw me, he looked confused, but he took his headphones out, and tossed them to the corner of his bed.
"Brett. I think we should talk now." I softly whispered.
He looked at me with his glowing blue eyes, which I wish I had.
"Come here." he said, patting a spot on the bed next to him.
I walked over to his bed, and sat myself down on the edge.
Everything was silent for a minute, until I spoke up.
    "I'm sorry." I whispered.
"For what?" he asked, genuinely confused.
"Pushing the problem away. I should've let you explain before I jumped to conclusions." I said.
"That's funny, because I think I should be saying sorry." he said, shrugging his built shoulders.
I gave him a small smile. "Let's just, forget things. Okay?"
He nodded. "So, what's up with the fancy red dress?"
I blushed, and I swore my cheeks were the color of my dress. "Fancy dinner with Nate. Didn't turn out so well."
He chuckled. "Well, I can see that."
"Shut up." I said, lightly pushing him.
    "Nate's a jerk." Brett mumbled.
"I see that now." I pointed out.
"Good. You were just too blinded by love." he teased.
"Hey, hey. Don't ruin the deep moment." I said, smiling.
    "Well, there's-"
Brett was cut off in his sentence with the door knocking. I frowned, as we both got up to answer it.
Standing there was a pretty, tall, thin, model like girl.
"Brett!" she said, jumping in his arms.
I raised my eyebrow at him, but smiled.
He rolled his eyes, but smiled back at me.
I mouthed to him, "Get some."
He broke out in a big smile, and mouthed, "We'll see."
I giggled, and went back inside my room. Tonight was a long night, but it was definitely worth it in the end.

    Chapter 14
    Carson's POV
"So, your name is Carson?" Drake grinned at me.
We just woke up an hour ago, and we decided to walk to class together.
    "Who told you?" I snapped.
"Oh, so it is." he chuckled.
"It's not funny." I said, crossing my arms.
"Sorry, it's just at first when Brett said your name, I was thinking of a guy." he smiled.
I blocked Drake out of my mind for a minute, and thought of Brett.
I sneaked in our dorm this morning to get a spare change of clothes, just in case I had to stay over again. I was walking out of my room when Brett appeared by his doorway, looking worried.
I didn't know what to do, so I just ran. I couldn't face him then, and I can't now.
"Hello? Carson?" Drake asked, waving his hands in my face.
    "W-what?" I asked.
    "Quit daydreaming." he joked.
    "I was not!" I protested.
"Sure, we'll go with that." he winked.
He left me at my first class, accounting, and I sat in my usual seat.
Professor Grimes suddenly spoke up, and began his lesson for today.
I quickly jotted down notes as he was speaking.
After class, my hand was sore from writing so much.
I continued my day, moping around, jotting notes, taking homework assignments, and listening to professors talk.
After classes were over, I started to run back to my dorm to get some more stuff before anyone else comes back.
I got inside, and there wasn't any noise except for me walking.
I quickly took out some of my money, some more books, and more clothes. I was so lucky that Drake was letting me stay as long as I wanted.
    Suddenly, my door slammed shut.
I quickly turned my head around, and did a double take.
Brett was blocking my only exit.
I got my bag with all of my stuff, and got up slowly, knowing he was watching my every move.
"Excuse me." I said, trying not to snap at him.
"Carson, you need to come back here." he said, with his usual icy blue eyes turning dark.
I bit my lip. "Why? There's no one here I can trust."
He seemed hurt by that, and I wished I had taken back my words.
"I have to go, Drake's waiting." I said, after a minute of me looking in his eyes.
"Wait, let me explain." he said.
I tried to fight back my tears from falling out. Why was I crying over Brett?
"There's nothing to explain." I said, with my voice cracking in the end.
    "Carson, I didn't mean to-"
He was cut off by the sound of my phone vibrating in my pocket. I took it out, and I read the name of the person calling me. Nate.
Why hadn't I deleted his contact yet? I looked up at Brett, who was as shocked as I was.
"Answer it." Brett said after the forth ring.
I hesitated, and clicked the green 'answer' button.
My hand was shaking as I held it up against my ear. "Hello?"
"Carson! I'm so glad you picked up! We need to talk." Nate said, sounding happier than ever.
Was he drunk that day I confronted him? Did he not remember anything.
    "I don't think that's a good idea." I said in a low voice.
"Come on, baby. I'm taking a flight here tomorrow, and the first thing I want to do is talk to you." Nate begged.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not your 'baby'."
"So, is that a yes?" he asked.
I looked up at Brett who seemed irritated.
"Whatever. Fine." I said, and hung up on him.
"Carson, you don't have to go if you-"
I cut Brett of with, "I have to go do work and study. Bye."
I pushed passed him, and stormed off back to Drake's dorm.

    Chapter 13
    Brett's POV
Crap, this couldn't be good. Carson just ran away out of no where! Should I call the cops? She hasn't been home in hours.
The doorbell suddenly rang, and I got up to get it.
    Standing there was Drake.
"Brett, man what's up?" he asked, fist bumping me.
    "Hey Drake." I said.
"Listen, so does this girl live here? Light reddish hair? Hazel eyes?" he asked, trying to describe her.
I knew exactly who he was talking about. Carson.
    "Carson?" I asked.
"Nah, man. I'm talking about a girl." he said.
"That's Carson." I said. Why was he looking for Carson?
"Oh, yeah. She told me to get her books to do her homework or something." Drake shrugged.
My eyes snapped up. "You know where Carson is?"
"Yeah, she told me she ran away. But, listen. I need her books and some stuff. She's staying over at my place tonight." Drake said.
I gritted my teeth together. Carson was staying over at Drake's place?
"Right over here." I said, trying to act calm.
I directed him to Carson's room, as he started looking for her books.
He piled them all up in his hands, grabbed some of her clothes, and her cell phone.
He dumped them all in her black book bag, and slung it over his shoulders.
"Thanks Brett. I have to go now, or else Carson will get impatient." Drake chuckled.
"Alright, see you later." I mumbled, closing the door.
I sighed. At least Carson was safe, right?
I should've told her the truth in the first place. None of this would happen. She would be in her room right now instead of at Drake's dorm.
I clenched my fists, and slammed it against the counter. I felt so stressed out, like everything was my fault.
Why are you being such a girl, Brett?
I shut my eyes tight, breathing in and out to control myself.
    ---
I woke up at 4 in the morning to the sound of someone walking in the hallways.
Who would be up at this time?
I groaned, and got out of my bed to see who it was.
I saw a glimpse of red hair, and heard drawers opening and closing.
Then, Carson walked out of her room. She stared me straight in the eyes, and I could tell she was panicking.
She started running pass me with some clothes in her hands.
    "Carson! Wait!" I shouted.
It was too late. She was already out of the dorm, and probably wandering back in Drake's dorm.
I sighed heavily, and rubbed my eyes. She hated me now, didn't she?
"Brett! What the hell? It's 4 am!" Kristina snapped coming out of her room.
"Carson just came back." I said.
Her eyes lit up. "Is she here? Is she okay?"
"And she just left, too." I finished.
Her happy mood immediately dropped. "Why was she here?"
"She had clothes in her hands." I explained.
She rolled her eyes. "Why did she leave, anyway?"
    Because of me.
    "I don't know." I lied.
    Kristina sighed. "Whatever, I'm sleeping."
I went back to my room and tried to sleep, but I just couldn't. What was that warm feeling inside my body? Did I actually care for Carson?
No. I can't. I messed everything up. How could I even think of such a thing?
Besides, we argue too much. We are from two separate worlds.
    We could never be together.
I snapped out of my thoughts. Why was I even thinking about this!?
What has gotten into you, Brett?! I groaned, and mentally punched myself.
I said I would post two chapters yesterday, but I didn't! Sorry D:
So here's two lovely chapters for today :D

    Chapter 12
My legs took me to a park a few streets away from campus, and I laid down on the bench, with tears still coming out my eyes.
The cold wind pushed my messy, knotted hair all over my face.
I sniffed as it started getting cold, and I regretted not taking a sweater with me.
The hot tears touched against my rosy, cold cheeks, making me feel warmer.
I stared out in space, thinking about what happened in just the past hour.
Why did this happen to me? I felt as if I couldn't trust anyone. No one would be willing to tell me the truth.
"Are you okay?" someone suddenly asked.
I turned around, and saw a tall boy, with shaggy blonde hair, and emerald green eyes.
I felt insecure looking like a complete mess right now.
"I'm fine." I choked out with a crackly voice.
He chuckled. "You obviously don't look okay."
I turned back around, knowing I looked hideous right now in front of a really good looking guy.
I felt someone sit on the bench with me, and I looked at them straight in the eye.
    "Shouldn't you go?" I asked.
"No, why would I leave you here alone?" he pointed out.
    I sighed. "Whatever."
    "Are you cold?" he asked.
    "No." I lied.
"Yes, and that explains the goose bumps on your arms. You know, your a horrible liar." he grinned.
I shyly looked at my arm, and began rubbing them to keep warmer.
"Here." he said, taking off his over-sized hoodie, and putting it over my shoulders.
His hoodie instantly made my body heat up.
"Better?" he asked smiling, showing off his pearly white teeth.
"Yeah." I said, biting my lip.
"So, whose the jerk that broke your heart?" he asked leaning back on the bench.
Why was he asking? I didn't even know his name and he wanted to know about my life now?
"Why should I tell you? Your just a stranger." I mumbled.
"Fine, fine. Hi, my name is Drake. Nice to meet you. What's your name?" he asked, giving me a corny introduction.
I couldn't help but break into a small smile.
"Your going to have to find out my name for yourself." I smirked.
"Oh, oh. So, you're feeling better now? Glad I did a good job." he said.
I tried to hold in a smile as I looked in his bright, pretty green eyes.
"So, what do girls do to feel better? Get ice cream? Cry over chick-flicks?" he asked.
I thought he was joking, but his face was definitely serious.
"You are so stereotypical!" I said slapping his arm.
He gripped his arm, as if it hurt badly.
"Ow, ow. Okay, okay. Sorry. What do you want to do?" he asked.
A devious grin spread across my face as I said, "Beach."
He frowned as he put a hand over my forehead.
"What are you doing?" I snapped.
"Do you have a fever? How long have you been out here?" he asked, worried.
I laughed. "Calm down, I'm fine. Let's go."
    He frowned, but shrugged.
We walked to a beach just a few blocks from the park, and I kicked off my sneakers, and ran on the beach. I let the cold sand fill the spaces in between my toes.
"Your so crazy." Drake said, running up to me.
I smiled, and grabbed him by the arm.
We ran near the shore, just as the small waves covered our feet. I reached on my neck, and ripped off the necklace Nate gave me.
I clutched it hard, and with all my strength, I threw it in the ocean.
"This is for everything, Nate." I whispered.
I looked up at Drake, who was too busy staring out in the ocean.
Why was I even hanging out with some stranger? Hell, he didn't even know my name yet.
I bit my lip, thinking of Brett. Was he even worried I was gone?
No. He didn't even care about me. He hated me.

    Chapter 9
I got back to college today, and I was falling asleep during physics class.
I took a big sip of my coffee I bought this morning, and tried to keep my eyes up from dropping down.
Luckily, my physics teacher was old and was crazy blind.
She couldn't see your face without squinting extra hard.
The rest of my day went by with our first lesson being taught, and the professors checking to see if we got the correct books.
I finally went home to take a nap before starting my homework and studying for my upcoming exams.
Just as I was about to fall asleep, my phone vibrated across my bed.
I groaned in frustration, and picked it up.
    "What?" I grumbled.
"Oh, babe? Did I interrupt something?" Nate asked.
"Oh, Nate! Hey! Sorry about that." I said, suddenly not feeling so tired.
I was so eager to talk to Nate, I haven't talked to him in days!
"It's fine. Listen, babe. I need you to do me a favor..." Nate said, with his voice trailing off.
    "Yeah?" I asked.
"Go open your door." he said.
    "What?" I said in confusion.
"Baby, just do it." he said.
"Alright, alright." I said getting off my cozy bed, and going to my door. I opened it, and saw Nate.
My eyes widened in surprise. Then, a smile sprouted on my face.
"Nate!" I giggled, jumping in his arms.
"Baby, I missed you." he said, pecking my lips.
"Why are you here?" I asked, letting him inside.
"Why, not happy to see me?" he teased.
"N-No! I'm just so surprised." I said, brushing my auburn hair behind my ears.
He chuckled. "My cousins got these awesome concert tickets for free here, and we couldn't miss it for the world. So, I stopped by to say hi."
"Aw, God. I'm so happy to see you! Life is a living hell here!" I groaned, crossing my arms.
"Well, I'm here. And, it's all good now." Nate breathed, with his hot air on my neck.
"Um, you know. No one's home, yet." I giggled letting his soft lips peck my neck lightly.
"That's great." he whispered, kissing my lips forcefully.
I didn't even pull back, instead, I pulled his face closer to mine.
His hands suddenly started to explore my body, and touch me all over places.
Don't get me wrong, Nate was amazing. I love him, but his fingers were cold, and something didn't feel right.
I let it slip, and let him continue what he was doing.
After fifteen minutes of hardcore making out, the light suddenly switched on, and two people stepped in the room.
I looked up, and blushed. It was Tyson and Brett.
"Whoa! Did we?" Tyson said, speechless.
"Carson's finally getting some." Brett chuckled.
I rolled my eyes at his childish behavior.
I looked over at Nate, who seemed to be hiding something.
"What's wrong?" I whispered to him.
"Uh, uh, nothing. Listen, I'll call you tonight. Bye." he abruptly said, and quickly left.
    "Nate, what the-"
Before I got to finish, he was out the door, and out of sight.
I threw a pillow at Brett.
"See what you did?!" I snapped.
"What? I said one thing." he said slamming the door from behind.
"He left because of your childish act." I spat, crossing my arms.
"Whatever. Whoever he is, he looks familiar." Brett said walking in his room, and locking his door.
    "Ugh." I grumbled.
"Yeah, I've seen him somewhere before." Tyson said scratching his head.
    "When?" I asked.
"I don't know. Just a week ago? At some club a few miles from here." Tyson shrugged, walking to his room.
    At some club?

    Chapter 4
"Hey! Carson, babe, I miss you." Nate said when he picked up the phone.
"Nate, I miss you, too." I said, practically whining over the phone.
"How was your first day?" he asked.
    "It was okay." I grumbled.
    "What happened?" he asked.
"Well, my roommate, Tyson, said something today. He told me how you and I were never going to work out because of the distance." I said, practically laughing.
I heard a long pause on the other line, with made my stomach tighten up.
"Um, Nate?" I said after a minute.
"Oh, oh. Ha. Yeah..." Nate laughed nervously.
What the hell was his problem?
"Hmm. Nate, are you okay?" I asked.
"Y-yeah. Listen, Carson. I have to go to work now. Bye." he said, hanging up immediately.
Strange. He always said he loves me after saying bye.
I shrugged it off, maybe he was just in a hurry to get to work.
I threw my phone back on my bed, and started searching online for my college books.
I found myself closing my eyes, and falling asleep.
    ---
I woke up the next morning, and took a extra long, hot shower.
Thank God there were no classes today, because I was not in the mood.
I blew my hair dry, and put on a black tank top with a pair of lips on it, bright turquoise shorts, black sandals, turquoise feather earrings, and silver bangles.
    http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=34428968
I finished off my look with a few coats of mascara, and lip balm. I never wore too much make up, I liked to keep myself natural.
I got out the bathroom, and went to my kitchen.
I walked pass a girl whom I've never seen before.
She was sitting on a chair, drinking orange juice, and texting.
"Hey, um. Who are you?" I asked, the same was Tyson asked who I was on my first day.
Her head snapped up, and she gave me a big smile.
"Hey! I'm Leslie! You live here with Brett and them, right?" she asked.
    I nodded. "Yeah. I'm Carson."
"Yeah, sorry for freaking you out or anything! Brett just bought me to his room yesterday. And the rest is history. If you know what I mean." she enthusiastically said.
I frowned. Who would be so energetic at 8 in the morning? Then again, why was I even awake? There was no school today, and I could've slept till 2 pm.
"Oh yeah. So, how's Brett?" I asked.
"He's the sweetest thing, ever! We've been kind of on an off for the past month." she giggled.
I smirked. Sweet? Hah. Brett? No.
She was a nice girl. Too bad Brett will be a jerk to her, and rip her heart out.
"Well, nice meeting you." I said, and walked out of my dorm.
I needed to get some coffee at the cafe.
I stopped by my personal mailbox, and sat down at the cafe, sipping on a latte, while reading my letters.
I skimmed through them, and decided to read the one from my mother.
    Dear Carson,
Hi, honey. How's college? We all miss you.
Anyway, your aunt Sara is getting married next weekend. She invited us, and I promised we'll all go. She's having it in Massachusetts, which isn't very far away from Rhode Island. I bought you a bus ticket, and you'll have to go on Saturday. Sorry for the late notice, darling.
Please call me when you leave for the bus, and here's a few hundred dollars to get a dress.
    Good luck in college!
    Love,
    Mom
I sighed. I never liked Aunt Sara. She was annoying, and always got me lousy Christmas presents.
For those of you who want to know how Nate looks like, just looked up Chace Crawford on Google, haha. (:

    Chapter 31
After being the in lake for just five minutes, I was freezing.
    "E-Eric. C-can we g-go u-up now?" I begged.
He chuckled. He came over to me, and hugged me.
Yes, I felt so safe and comfy in his arms, but I was still shivering like crazy.
"I like this position, but I'm still freezing." I managed to say without stuttering.
He smiled, showing off his pearly whites, and carried me back to the grass.
He took out this suit jacket, and wrapped it around me.
    "Better?" he asked.
"Much better." I whispered, my teeth still going up and down.
I felt his left arm go around my waist, and I noticed we were only an inch apart.
I felt his hot breath on my neck, and it definitely warmed me up.
I was about to kiss him, but I realized something.
Why was he in the God damn closet with Lisa, anyway?
    "E-Eric." I said.
    "Hmm?" he asked.
"Don't get mad or anything. But, just out of curiosity. Why were you in that closet with Lisa?" I asked, trying to not sound cold at all.
He pulled away from me, and put his hands around his knees, curling up into a ball.
"Crystal. I'm not mad. I'm just afraid you'll be." he mumbled, looking out at the night sky.
I looked up at it with him, and noticed a bunch of stars.
I continued to stare at the biggest one I saw, and said, "No, I won't."
I heard him sigh. "Crystal. She told me she wanted to show me something. But, I didn't realize what was happening until she leaned in, and closed the door. I didn't kiss her at all, I promise. But, I can't promise that I didn't pull away, either."
I turned my attention away from the shiny star, and looking him straight in his beautiful grey eyes.
"Don't do it again." I said calmly.
I knew he was surprised, because his eyes widened a little.
"Promise." he said giving me a half smile.
He held my hand, and we stared to dry up, so we got back in out clothes.
"So, where do you want to go without looking like an idiot in these clothes?" he asked.
"Ice cream." Wow. How lame was I? That's the first thing I thought of.
"Glad to see your eating healthy." he joked.
"Shush up." I laughed, as we walked to Dairy Queen.
We walked inside and heads turned to us.
We must've looked ridiculous wearing dresses and suits in freaking Dairy Queen.
Eric seemed to ignore all the eyes, and turned to me.
"So, what do you want? My treat." he smiled.
I smiled back, and decided to get mint chocolate chip ice cream with chocolate syrup.
He got cookies and cream with Oreo cookie crumbs.
We sat down at a two person table, and we began digging in.
"Ew, mint chocolate chip is nasty." Eric said scrunching his nose.
"No! Are you serious? It's one of the best." I said proudly, eating a big spoonful.
"And now I can't kiss you for the rest of the night." he sighed.
    "Are you serious?" I asked.
"Yes. I mean, your going to taste like mint with chocolate." he sarcastically said.
    I chuckled. "Whatever, your lost."
He walked me back home, and stopped at my front door steps.
He kissed my head, and didn't let go.
"So, your really not going to kiss me?" I asked, pretending to pout.
    "Nope." he smiled.
"Fine, then I'll kiss you." I smirked.
I leaned in, and planted a long kiss on his soft, delicate lips.
    Surprisingly, he didn't pull away.
"What happened to no kissing?" I asked him once we separated.
"I said I wouldn't kiss you. I didn't say you can't kiss me." he chuckled.
I laughed, and lightly punched his arm.
"I love you." he said out of no where.
But, without hesitation, I said, "I love you, too."
He kissed me, one more time, and we went our separate ways.
    My heart was fluttering.
Not only was he my boyfriend, but I think he might also be one of my best friends.

    Chapter 30
Eric grabbed my hand, and we ran back to the dance together.
    "Eric, slow down!" I said.
"C'mon, Crystal. Your about to be called homecoming queen." he smiled, quickening up his pace.
I sighed, and ran up with him, with my pumps in my hands.
We got inside, just in time.
The president of the student council was on the stage, holding up two cards.
"The moment you've been all waiting for! The homecoming king is..."
The whole crowd went silent, and Eric's hand squeezed mines harder.
"Eric Chambers!" he shouted through the microphone.
All the football players chanted on Eric, as he smiled down at me, and let go of my hand to get his crown.
"And, last but not least. The homecoming queen is..."
The crowd went silent, and from the corner of my eyes, I saw Lisa smirking.
    "Lisa Hatcher!" he shouted.
This time, instead of the crowd cheering, everyone was whining.
Lisa rolled her eyes, and pushed against me to go up to the stage to get her crown.
"Hah! Homecoming queen for the second time in a row. Be jealous. Crystal." she said giving me a deathly glare.
I sighed. How could I ever think of competing against Lisa?
I caught Eric's eye, and gave him a half smile.
Suddenly, he got up on the stage, and walked down the platform towards me.
"What are you doing?! Let go or you won't get some of me tonight." Lisa sneered.
"I don't even want to." Eric smirked, and came down.
He put his arm around my waist, and pecked my cheek.
"You know, your still a queen right?" he asked, taking his crown off, and putting it on my head.
    "How?" I smiled.
"Your the queen of Eric's world." he chuckled.
    "Psh." I giggled.
A slow song came on, and I put my arms around his neck, and he placed his on my waist.
"So, how stupid do I look with this crown?" I asked.
    "Very stupid." he joked.
"Aw, thank you." I sarcastically said.
"So, Crystal. There's something I've been wanting to ask you." he said not looking me in the eye.
    "Yes?"
"Want to, I don't know, maybe be my girlfriend?" he asked.
I looked at the charm bracelet he gave me, which was dangling on my wrist. "Yeah."
    "What?" he asked in shock.
I laughed. "Why so serious? I said yeah."
I knew he was trying to keep calm. "I'm not serious."
"That's a nice answer after I just said yes to being your girlfriend." I teased.
"Only for you." he sarcastically smirked.
The slow song was over, and we went to sit down at the tables.
"So, want to ditch this place?" Eric asked.
"And go where? The streets?" I joked.
"Nah, I was hoping to go to the lake." he said.
I looked at him as if he was stupid. "What? Eric. It's November, and it's night time."
"So? That's what makes it fun." he chuckled.
I smiled, and we went outside to his car.
He drove up to a field, and I looked lower, and saw a big lake.
"What are we even doing here?" I asked.
"We're going in the water." he smiled, with his eyes reflecting the water.
"Are you crazy? This dress cost me a fortune." I said.
"God, you sound like Lisa." he smiled.
"Never, ever, compare me to her." I snapped.
"Alright, alright. Just take the dress off." Eric said.
"And swim in my bra and panties?" I asked.
"Yes, it's not like I haven't seen you in them." he shrugged.
"That's because you haven't." I said crossing my arms.
He started taking off his suit and tie, and soon he was just in his boxers.
    "Coming?" he asked.
I sighed, and got in my underwear.
He jumped in the lake, but I was hesitant, until I felt him grab me, and drag me down.
    "Eric!" I said splashing him.
    He chuckled, and kissed me.
