HANDS OF HOPE FOR NEWTOWN
Reading all these quotes about the tragedy that occurred last Friday in Newton to Sandy Hook, I know you are all as horrified as I am.
In a horrible incident of this nature, the people require something more: a sense of hope, a sense of community.
My sister, Aleesha, a student at Johns Hopkins University, has taken the initiative to do just that. She began within her own college, by organizing a collection of messages for those affected, and she is now expanding it to everyone, everywhere. I'm honestly really proud of what she is doing, and I think everyone should do it. Many already have, and I want you guys to do it to, if you can, regardless of what country you are in.
Trace your hand on a piece of paper and cut out the shape. On your paper hand, write a message or quote or really anything you want to show that you care. Anything that comes from the heart and shows you care would be very much appreciated.
If you want to do this for Newtown, comment on my profile and I’ll give you the address to mail your hands to.
Aleesha will collect all the hands and link them together and send the package to Newtown on January 2, 2013. It'll only take 2 minutes! Please tell all your friends! Imagine how the families will feel if they see a chain of 5,000 hands showing that no matter what happens, we'll stand together, and support them.
Please, let’s show Newtown that our Witty family cares. Make a hand, and show them, that there is hope.
