Forever Young
Chapter 2
We spent the rest of the night getting to know each other, and Liam and Louis seemed like they were best friends. They really were funny when they were together. It seemed like Louis was flirting with me a lot, but I wasn't sure if he was or if he was just being friendly.
"Can we go home now?" I asked, suddenly feeling tired after not having slept for over a day.
"Sure, let's go." Liam said, placing the money on the table. We walked back to Liam's car, and I expected Louis to go to his. When he got in the passenger seat of Liam's car, I got confused.
"Louis, how did you get here?" I asked, puzzled.
"I took a cab. My car's getting work done." he replied nonchalantly. Liam drove home, and I noticed my mother was home when we returned. I walked in the house, prepared to meet my new family.
"Hi mom." I said, and she got up to give me a big hug. I noticed a middle-aged man on the couch along with a two year old girl.
"Aubrey, this is my fiance Mark, and his daughter Lucy." she said, introducing me to my soon to be step father and step sister.
"And you've met Liam." she said, laughing quietly.
"I would love to stay up and tell you about university, but I'm so tired. I have barely slept in the past two days." I said, excusing myself to my bedroom for some well needed rest. My mind kept drifting back to what Louis said when we met earlier, about me not being off limits to the band. Louis was cute, with these beautiful blue eyes and chesnut brown hair. He had a gorgeous smile, and a great sense of humor. Snap out of it Aubrey, you're never going to have a chance. He's like a mega star, and you're practically a nobody. I fell asleep shortly after I convinced myself that Louis would never go for me. When I woke up the next morning, my mother had already left for work and Mark left town for a business trip. I heard Lucy crying, so I walked into her room and picked her up.
"Hey sweetie, it's alright. Don't cry baby." I said, trying to soothe her. She started calming down, and I walked out to the kitchen. There was a note from my mom on the fridge.
'Went to work, be home late. Sitter will be here at noon for Lucy. Go have fun today.' Great. So I was stuck with the baby for half the day. Oh well, she was so cute. Louis walked into the kitchen about a half hour later, while I was trying to feed Lucy mashed bananas.
"Choo choo! Here comes the train!" I said over-enthusiastically so Lucy would eat it. She did, but spit it right back out at me. I cringed, and Louis started cracking up.
"You think this is easy? You try." I said, handing him the spoon and food and getting out of my seat. He started to feed Lucy, and she actually ate it. He picked her up out of her chair and started pacing around the room with her. Liam walked out a few minutes later, and started laughing.
"What's so funny?" I asked, curious.
"If I didn't know any better, I'd think you two were married with a child!" he said, still laughing. I started to blush, and just laughed along with Liam.
"So what are we doing today?" he asked, to Louis I assumed. When I didn't answer, he repeated himsels.
"Are you speaking to me?" I asked, pointing to myself.
"Yeah. You want to hang out with Louis and I?" he asked, and I shook my head yes.
"But we have to watch the baby til noon." I said, remembering the baby-sitter didn't come until 12.
"It's 11:45." Liam said, and I couldn't believe I had slept so late.
"Okay. You stay with Lucy, I'm going to shower and get dressed." I replied, walking to my bathroom. I took a quick shower then walked to my huge closet. I grabbed my gray tank top with the word PINK printed on it and a pair of jean shorts. I laced up my blue converse, matching well today. By the time I had french braided my bangs back into my ponytail and checked my email on my phone, it was 12:03. I walked out of my room and saw a pretty girl who looked about 23 years old holding Lucy, and Lucy was giggling, obviously happy. I saw the girl check out Louis, and he no doubt returned the favor. I walked into the room, unable to take this flirt fest anymore.
"Liam, you ready to go?" I asked, hoping he would say yes and we could leave quickly.
"Sure. Lou, you coming?" he asked, grabbing his keys. I walked out to the car and took the front seat, making Louis sit in the back. I couldn't stop thinking about how I felt when he was flirting with the sitter.
Was I jealous?
