I can't help but think about this. I was ten years old when I went to a therapist for the first time. I was diagnosed with depression. But my mom thought she was lying so I never went back. I can't stop thinking about why my mom would do that. I have gotten worse in those six years. I wonder what would have happened if I actually got the help that I needed from that therapist after finding out I have depression.

I looked at the girl infront of me. I hardly recognized myslef. So much had happened over the summer. Cody and I grew distant after that night. My dad would come home drunk. And in the morning he wouldn't be able to recount the events of what happened that night. I'd end up with another brusie. And sometimes a new scar every now and then.
Then there were those days I wouldn't eat. I couldn't stand the look of food or even the smell.At the beginning of summer I had weighed a healthy 130 pounds. Now I weigh 109. Those days I couldn't get myself to eat more than a few bites, at most, during dinner. I just felt like I wasn't good enough and had to change myslef.
I ran my hand through my hair. Hoping to make a good impression for my first day of my junior year at my new school. I grabbed my bookbag off the floor and slung it over my shoulder. I hurried out the front door to see Mathis waiting for me.
"Hey." I say, sliding into the passenger seat.
"Hey." Mathis says, leaning over to kiss me.
The first half of the ride to school was kind of quiet. So I leaned forward to turn the radio on. Flipping through the channels Mathis had set. I ended up on landing on a channel just as one of my favorite songs started to play. 'The A Team' by Ed Sheeran.
