The Ever After
Chapter 3
“Don’t worry about a thing Hannah. You won’t even feel it. You will be asleep the entire time. It will seem like only a second. You might be in pain when you wake up, but that’s what pain medicine is for right?” The surgeon laughed.
I didn’t really find it funny, but I didn’t have any time to object, because right after he said that his nurse put a mask over my mouth and nose. That’s when I passed out.
~~~about 6 hours later~~
“How are you feeling?” It was Evan’s voice. I didn’t want to answer for fear of someone else being in the room. I opened my eyes and saw him standing next to my bed. Sarah was on the other side.
“Well answer your friend Hannah!” Sarah could see him to? I thought only I could see him. I will have to ask him about that later.
“I feel fine. I guess.” My voice cracked a lot. My throat was unexplainably dry. I took a drink of water and sat up. My blonde hair was a mess, my pale blue eyes looked exhausted, and my makeup all came off.
“Well you look tired. Do you want to go back to sleep?” Evan asked sweetly.
“No, I’m fine. But do you think you could get me something to eat? I don’t care what it is.” He nodded his head and left.
“Who is your friend???!!!” Sarah was getting excited. I already knew what she was thinking.
“Just someone I met a couple days ago. No big deal.” She could tell I didn’t want to talk about it.
That’s when I saw the first one. I don’t know how to describe it. Was it a ghost? A demon? Or was it merely a person? Whatever or whoever it was, it made my heart rate go up. the machines were going crazy. All of the commotion made it hard to breath. I heard nurses and doctors yelling something I couldn’t understand. Sarah was besides me crying and saying something. The last thing I saw was Evan sprinting towards the room. He looked so sweet when he had fear and concern mixed together on his angel like face.
“If I am about to die,” I thought, “his face is the last thing I want to see.”
And then I blacked out.

The Ever After
Chapter 2
I was startled by the question but I didn’t have the time to answer. In the next instant I was in a hospital bed gasping for the air that I couldn’t get. It was nearly impossible to get that first breath. The next thing I knew there were doctors and nurses rushing into the room.
“She’s awake!” A nurse in purple yelled. “Doctor, she is awake!” And then she left the room and the doctor came in.
“Hello Hannah, how are you feeling?” The doctor was surprisingly young and attractive.
“Wh-where am I a-at?” It was impossibly hard to talk, my throat was so dry. I noticed a glass of water to my right. The doctor must have seen my eyeing it because he walked over to get it for me.
“You are at the St. Moris hospital. Your friend Sarah said you fell off your roof? You are a very lucky girl; you fell almost 30 feet to the ground. Although you did fracture your wrist and break your shoulder bone. But with the surgery we have you scheduled for in about an hour it should heal within three weeks. Perfect timing because your friend tells me that’s when softball starts? We don’t want you to jump right into it, but you will be able to play once it starts.” He said all of this so calmly. He could probably see the look of relief that came across my face.
“Thank you doctor.” I said in a quiet voice.
“We have to get the patient ready for surgery now doctor.” Said the nurse in purple.

The Ever After
Chapter 1
All I could hear were the sirens. And shouting, there was a lot of that. That’s all I heard for a while besides the ringing in my head. It was so loud, but the sirens were louder. All the noise was like an earth quake in my head. I just wanted the noise to stop. I tried to open my eyes to see what was going on but I couldn’t. I couldn’t move anything. Not my mouth, arms, legs, nothing. I was a statue. That’s when I heard the voice.
“You could die any second ya know.” The voice was really shaky but deep. It was probably a mans. “You can talk to me, I am in your head, not out there. Nobody else will hear you.”
“Wh-who are you?” I was freaking out.
“That’s not important,” the voice said. “What is important is that you listen. You are unconscious right now. From the outside anyways. My name is Evan, and I was sent from The Ever After. It is where you go when you die and you still have things you need to finish before your spirit moves on. Some people chose to stay in The Ever After so they can walk the earth.
“The reason I was sent to you was because we are going to let you live, but you are going to experience things you have never experience before. Let me ask you a question.” Evan was so calm it was scary.
“What?” I said, still shaky.
“Do you believe in demons?”

Intro
“Get down from there you idiot! You are going to fall and break so
mething. You know you can’t get hurt, softball is starting!”
That was Sarah yelling at me. She always yells when I do something stupid. She is like the protective friend, but she only does it with good intentions. I knew she was right anyways. Softball was starting in about a week, and I was the best player in the league. I couldn’t afford to get hurt right before the seasons started. That would ruin the entire season.
“Are you just going to stand there or are you going to come down from there before you fall?!” Sarah yelled from the ground. I was on my roof hiding from my brother.
“Sorry! I will be right down! I promise!” I yelled back to her in a happy tone. I started to walk to the edge of the roof so I could gently jump down when I noticed my shoe was untied. I bent down to tie it when I started to slip. I tried to catch myself but I had nothing to grab on to. I tried to yell for Sarah to catch me but I couldn’t make the words come out. The next thing I knew I was falling off the edge of the roof.
Then I hit the ground.

Chase's P.O.V.
I waited for this day for the past two months. i finnaly got to see Alexis again. I've liked her since fourth grade and i was going to ask her out today. I've missed her brown hair and piercing green eyes and her beautiful face forever... i was going to tell her how i felt.
"I will be by the concession stands" i text her.
I saw the beautiful blonde.. she waved at me. i gave a half wave.. i didnt know who it was. for some reason she was walking towrds me. maybe she had a question.
"Heey chase! i've missed you!" said the blonde. i knew right away by the sound of the voice. it was alexis... what did she do to her hair and eyes? she was so beautiful before... why is she trying to be barbie?
"Heey! what did you do to your hair...?" i asked kinda of upset. i don't think she was able to tell. "My sister thought it would help me down the road. i have NO idea what she was talking about though." she said with her usual smile.
But i knew what she was talking about. Ive seen the girls my brother brings home. Her sister was turning her into a barbie.
Thats when my brothers friends walked over. i never learned there names because i rarley saw them. the blonde looked like the leader.
"Chase, why are you talking to this freak?" the blonde said. so much was going on.. so much was being said. it was to late before i noticed what i was saying. "I wasnt talking to it." It. i called Alexis it. I wish i could take it back. i knew i messed up. she would never forgive me.

Alexis's P.O.V.
It was the first day of middle school, when i started cutting. I remember it like yesterday.
I thought it would be great, seeing all my friends again. I was young so i didn't have many sleepovers. I really only had 4 close friends anyways. I missed them all. But i missed Chase more than anybody else. We were best friends. Imseperable. Nothing could ever get us apart. At least thats what i thought.
I walked into the building, it was the first day of 6th grade... i was a "big kid"now. The first thing i did was scan the crown for chase. He told me he would be by the concession stands when he texted me, and sure enough thats where he was. He waved as soon as he saw me.
"Hey Alexis!" "You know you don't need to shout right?" i laughed. He then touched a strand of my hair
"You dyed it blonde...i liked it brown.. and you got contacts?" he asked sounding kind of disapointed
"Well ya... i thought it was time for a change. and my older sister said it would help me out. i have no idea what she was talking about." i said casusally. "Well," he started "I loved it brown. ill admit the blue eyes are really pretty, but you had amazing piercing green eyes." he said with a smile on his face.
Was he flirting with me? It sure sounded like it.. i've heard guys flirt with Sarah, my best friend. This is what it sounded like.
Then some guys came up to me and Chase. it looked like Chases older brother friends.
"What are you doing with this fake azz beach?" the tall blonde one said.
"Hey leave her alone! she probably had to steal it just like her sister does!"
What were they talking about?! i was so confussed...
"Chase, you need to stay away from this freak. Nothing good will come from it." the blonde said again.
Chase just looked at me sympathetically and said "I wasn't talking to it."
That was the first time i was ever called It. It deffinatly wasnt the last. that night i went home and did the first thing that came to mind... i cut... deep.

My name is Alexis. I cut myself. Nobody knows why, and i don't plan on telling anyone. I've attempted suicide twice. The first time i tried to shoot myself, but my friend got to me before i pulled the trigger. The second time, i over dosed on some pills, but my mom got me to the hospital on time. I wasnt grateful for it like everyone said i should be.
My family has taken me to dozens of theripists and mental centers. I refused to talk. It's my body. I can do whatever i want. I dont have to explain myself for what i do.
They think i have everything... but let me tell you this one thing. What you see is different than the truth.
