~Chapter 1~
“ZINNIA!!” Lizzie screamed with tears in her eyes. She had watched zinnia ski down the mountain but took an awful turn into a hefty amount of gigantic rocks. That’s when Zinnia lost conscious… “Call 911!” Lizzie’s friend Ashton screamed. They both watched as the paramedics took zinnia away on a stretcher.
2 hours later
Lizzie had tears in her eyes. “This was all my fault”Lizzie choked out. She was crouched down sobbing in a corner of the hospital. Seconds later Zinnia’s mother came rushing through the doors of the hospital. “Where is my daughter!! What happened!!”she screamed with tears streaming down her face. “where is she?! I need to see her!!” She said.”I am sorry but you cannot see your daughter right now she is in serious danger right now and is falling into a coma, we are trying everything we can to stop her from it happening.”the doctor said. “No… I have to see her”she said, as nurses held her back. Zinnia’s mother looked into the room through the window in the door. Such a terrible sight.
Tubes attached to her head ,arms and mouth, half her head wrapped. Her mother started to sob. “How could I let this happen?? Why did I leave her home alone??” She kept saying.Nurses and doctors crowding around Zinnia trying to help, Zinnia’s mother was in tears. The next person to come into the hospital was Zinnia’s brother, Mason. Tears filled his dark brown eyes but he tried not to show it. Just thought of his baby sister hurt upset him. He loved her deeply and never let her out of his sight when she was around him.
1 hour later
“I am sorry Mrs.Aller I don’t know when your daughter will be awake with full use of her body” The doctor said. “Please, I am begging you, may I please just see my daughter.”Her mother said with tears pouring out of her eyes. “Okay but at the time we are limiting only 2 people in the room.” the doctor said. Mrs. Aller and Mason slowly walked into the room.
Her mother couldn’t even look at Zinnia without sobbing once again. They stared at zinnia for 20 minutes. Mrs.Aller left the room because it hurt her so much to even look at Zinnia with the tubes attached and eyes closed.
Once she was gone Mason got up from out of the brown chair. He grabbed Zinnias hand and started to talk to her. “Now, I know you cannot hear me probably-“ Mason started. Tears filling his eyes about to burst. “I love you very much and I hope God is listening too. Please don’t leave us, I remember the day you were born. Those beautiful Blue eyes and brown hair. I couldn’t take my eyes off of you….”Mason went on for hours until a doctor came in and told him it was best if he went home and got so sleep.”
By this time, Mrs.Aller had returned and they both refused. At one point they both ended up falling asleep.
Next Day
“Excuse me” a nurse said, startling Mason from his sleep. “The doctor says you both should go home soon because we have to keep close watch on Zinnia without any disturbance by others". Mason and Mrs.Aller got there things and left the hospital.
They still couldn’t believe what happened to Zinnia.
A girl who was so sweet and delightful was now in a coma….
