Honestly I'm just so close to giving up on everything.
I'm starting to think nobody has compassion.
    Nobody cares.
I saved this guys life and he repayed me by spreading
rumours and lies about me when I got a boyfriend.
I've been trying to fundraise for weeks and I've got
one donation so far - from my mum.
I've tried hard to make everyone happy and yet
    people still complain about me.
The turning point came when I saw that the only people
who made an effort as much as one mouse-click to
save my friend's life, were people I begged
    on the Internet.
I am just so done with trying to make the world a better place.
& that was my only reason for living.

^These are examples of the bracelets you could win. The thicker ones can have your name on them, and the one on the left is quite messy whereas the one on the right is quite neat - I can probably let you choose which type you want depending on who I ask to make them.
They're made by two brothers in Bakau, Gambia, named Sam and Musafa. They cost around 100 Dalasi each, which is about £2.
The little ones are sold at almost every market stall, the prices vary but you can choose one of them too(: they're also handmade by the locals.
To enter, please donate even as little as possible to justgiving.com/Katie-Gambia13, and you'll probably have to leave a comment or email me (my email is in the description on the site) so that I know you've done it. If you live in the UK, you can text "ARCK98 £1" to 70070. If you want to donate more it accepts £1-5 and £10. How much you donate does not increase/decrease your chances of winning, I'll do a random raffle some time this autumn/winter - I promise I won't forget because I'm going out there so it's pretty hard to not remember. Unfortunately I'm not going until December so you'll have to wait a while for the bracelets but they'll get there eventually.
Thank you so so much, I apologise if you read all that and it was a waste of time.

Hey! Feel free to scroll past this I'd just be annoyed with myself if I didn't at least try this.
In December I'll be going back to Gambia (Western Africa) to continue my work with ARC helping some of the primary schools there. Please visit my Just Giving page (justgiving.com/katie-gambia13) to donate just a little money to ARC. They need it for building tools and materials, such as shovels, paint and bricks. I'll be sleeping on the floor in the library and paying the travel costs with my own money - also, money donated through Just Giving goes straight to the charity - so you don't need to worry about me being dishonest.
    You can read my story about last year in the text box below;
I'm using a text box so that I don't take up your entire page :3
This is so that you get a better idea of what your money would be spent on.
Last year, I was part of a team of six working to build a market for the children to buy breakfast and lunch - the current market was a few broken tables under a tree, which was impossible to use during the rainy season. The structure had already been built, we just needed to concrete half of the floor and put in tables and chairs.
On the first day, we had to clear the floor of sand and dust. There was a LOT, so we needed shovels. However, there was only one shovel between the six of us. We used our feet and our hands, until the builders had eventually bought three new shovels.
We then had to make concrete by mixing the cement, rocks, sand and water. We would then shovel it into a wheelbarrow and pour it onto the floor.
The chairs and tables also had to be built from concrete, so we needed a lot of the 'ingredients'.
In other areas of the school, people were using sand paper to sand down the dirty/graffiti covered walls in old classrooms, and then repainting them with pictures representing phonics. Some of the boys also worked to repair broken desks, requiring workshop tools, wood, nails and stuff, and polish.
Please comment on my profile or something if you'd like to be updated or if you'd like to join me from the 13th to 21st of December, flying from Gatwick. I'm trying to think of a way to thank people who donate, so if you have any ideas, again please comment here or on my profile :)

But she's not like a star.
Stars are bright but they're small and all too alike from afar.
    She's more like a firework;
She's bright and loud and unescapable.
And you barely have long enough to marvel at her beauty,
    Before she's disappeared again,
Leaving your night sky nothing but a cluster of stars once more.
I actually did this all myself :D Kinda proud actually

Fun Fact: "Nolo" is Latin for "Do not want". So, if someone says YOLO, you
can say nolo and they'll think it's just a stupid comeback but, in all actuality, you're speaking Latin which is classy and sh.t. So haha, jokes on them.
