We were at homecoming.
[Me and my boyfriend]
Most of the time, they played fast songs, and we danced like a bunch of mental cases and it was awesome.
And towards the end, there was a slow dance.
[Two, actually.]
The first one, I didn't really expect him to dance with me.
[Cause he can be pretty shy and awkward.]
But instead, he pulled me in by my waist and held me close to him.
[Like he never wanted to let go.]
And I didn't really know what to do at first,
[So it was kinda awkward for the first ten seconds until I remembered to put my arms over his shoulders.]
but when I got it right, he pulled me in tighter. And I couldn't help but just lay my head on his shoulder and sway to the music with him.
[I have never had so many butterflies in my stomach.]
But when it ended, I was in such a daze and I couldn't help but just lean against the wall.
[Then another fast song came on.]
I was a little sad, cause I had really enjoyed myself.
I guess he was able to tell, cause he grabbed my hand and put it around his shoulders.
[I had never smiled bigger than I had at that moment.]
So, we danced again and it was awesome. And when the song ended, he kissed me, And said as quietly as he could while I could still hear him,
[He said it pretty loud still, because of the music]
"I love you."
And after I replied, I realized that he had said "I love you" first, for the first time.
[And I was the one to say "I love you too."]
