"I'm going to be home late tonight so don't wait up for me." My dad said while packing some bags. It was a friday night, after school and this week our rivarly has been bigger than ever. Almost everyday something has gone down between us. Will and I's plan for peace has failed several times; we were starting to loose hope. "Okay, why?" I asked. He laughed at my curiousity, "I have a big theif tonight; the bank on State Steet down in the suburbs." That bank was huge, I had no idea how he was going to pull that one off." "Papi, are you sure you want to do that? It's a big deal. I'm worried for you." I said honestly; ever since I had stopped stealing I wanted my dad too as well; I was scared for him and wanted him to become a better person too. But you couldn't change the way a person was. He didn't try changing my mind when I told him I didn't want to steal anymore; so why should I try to change his opinion when he respected mine?
"Hija, I'll be fine. I've been planning it out for a long time. Don't worry about me." He said giving me a kiss on the cheek. "Okay, I love you Papi." He smiled at me, "I love you too, Santana." With that, he left. I was so worried for him I decided I should pray; it was like my new comfort. 'God, please protect my father. I know what he's doing is wrong but I just want him to be safe. Amen.'
I tried watching tv but for some reason I couldn't get Will out of my head. It was weird; I had a boyfriend and I loved Tyler but there was something about Will. Is it possible to love two people at once? I couldn't take it anymore, I just had to see Will; I haven't talked to him since last weekend since we're not exactly allowed to talk in school. Plus, I've seen him at all the fights our groups have had this weekedn but of course wasn't able to talk to him. I just needed to see him.
I rang his door bell and waited patiently. I noticed quite a few familiar looking cars in his drive way. He answered the door, "Oh hi Will. Sorry to bother you, I just wanted to talk and..." Before I could finish my sentence he grabbed my arm and tugged me to outside to his side yard. "What are you doing?!" I asked him in a panic. "What the hell are you doing Santana? Nick, Lia, Brian, Sam and all of them are you. You can't just come barging in; what are they going to think if they see us talking?" I got really quiet, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know I just wanted to talk to you." He stopped being mad at me; I didn't take it the wrong way he was just paranoid about them seeing. "Sorry for freakin out on you. I have a few minutes, go on." I started playing my hair, the way I did when talking to Tyler. "I just missed you. And this rivarly has been so intense this week. You guys really got us good with that surprise attack." He laughed, I couldn't help but notice how I found his laugh charming now. "I know, so much for peace. But we got to keep trying. And thanks, you guys totally beat us at that fight in the plaza though. At least you guys were banned from it." I laughed with him, "Yeah, sorry about that black eye Pablo gave you." I said. That day, when they were fighting at the plaza and Pablo punched Will in the eye I almost felt like going over to Will and giving him a bag of ice. I felt so bad, but I couldn't do anything about it. He laughed off what I had reminded him of, "It's okay. It's practically healed now. Sorry for giving Tyler that bloody lip..." he said drifting off. I remebered how badly I wanted peace at that moment when I saw Will, my best friend, and Tyler, my boyfriend fighting. It hurt so bad. "He's over it."
Our conversation was inturupted when a bunch of cars drove loudly into Will's neighborhood. "Oh no." I wisphered. "What?" he asked. "It's Tyler and all of them." I admitted. "I had totally forgotten." "What did you forget Santana?" he asked. "They're going to key your cars." I said quietly. As soon as I told Will he ran back inside to warn all his friends. I decided to join my friends. "Already here, Santana?" Sabrina asked. I nodded my head without a word. "This is going to be great. Got ot love revenge." She added. Before they could get really far Nick, Will, Brian, Lia, Sam and the whole gang ran outside. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Nick shouted out to Tyler. My eyes and Will's met from across the yard. We both knew this wasn't going to end well.
