hey everyone i have a really important message:
be an organ donor.

i know that most of my quotes are lighthearted or whatever but this is so so so important to me. you don't need your organs after you die!!! you're dead!!! and one person's body can save/improve up to fifty people's lives.

fifty.

my dad was one of those fifty. he was less than a week away from dying when he got the lungs of a woman who died in a car crash and the lungs mean he can live for at least another three years and he can walk and talk!! i got to go to a massive church service of people who got transplants and people whose loved ones donated organs and it was truly the most moving thing i have ever seen because both sides see each other as heroes and everyone was so f/ucking thankful.

it's just a box to tick. all you have to do is tick the box saying yes i want to be an organ donor for the love of god tick the box you can save so many lives and if you're under 18 tell your parents that you want to because they can make it happen if you die unexpectedly i know that sounds really morbid but this is really important

I am sorry to hear about your father but I am glad he found a donor who had a good pair of lungs. I wish you and family the absolute best. And I will soon be 18 so I will def become a donor after this story it touches my heart:)

Some people donate everything but their eyes?? Do they think it's more important for a corpse to have eyes than it is for a living person?

The thing that bugs me is that your family have the final say in whether they want your organs to be donated or not. It's ridiculous. If I want my organs to be donated, then that is that.
I'm sure I read somewhere that in England, some time in the future you won't have to opt in, everyone will already be on the list and you have to opt out instead.
I'm really glad that your dad is doing well by the way :)

i was talking to my neighbor and i told her i wanted to be an organ doner and she told me that shed never be one. she told me that she felt as if there was someone who needed one of her organs while she was on the hospital bed with a chance of living that theyd kill her off anyways just for her organs.

my family (and some friends) insulted me when i signed up for being an organ donor and didn't understand. what's the point in keeping something i don't need if i'm dead and could help someone else live?

i'm up for it i mean like you wouldn't be technically dead would you bc part of your body would get to live another few years and even though you wouldn't know it, it would still be pretty cool

fun fact the heart of a 60 year old could go on to live another 15 years in the body of a 10 year old so hell yeah its great
