"He is bad news..."
Chapter 8
Phone in one hand, bag in the other. I took a deep breath and walked into the school, just like those models from Teen Vogue. I wasn’t feeling is but I had to. I had to show Everett it didn’t bother me he left all of a sudden. Also, I had to show Sienna nothing happened between her (step) brother and me. I had to. I can’t tell her anything; it’ll only make things worse.
I walked to my locker and there, I found Sienna waiting for me. She looked pretty worried. Her foot was twinkling over the floor and she was squeezing the books on her lap, so much her palms had turned pale white. I gulped, took a deep breath and walked to her slowly. She turned her face and when she saw me, she let out a sigh of relief.
I approached her and faked a smile. “Hey”.
“There you are! I was so worried, Evelyn” she gasped, smiling brightly.
I raised my eyebrow. “Why?”
“Cause we went to Jessica’s party yeah? And then I lost you and couldn’t find you but I realized this later cause I went to the dance floor and danced with several guys and then one of them asked me about you and I was so shocked and looked for you everywhere but couldn’t find you and I had to leave alone and…”
“Whoa, whoa” I stopped her, laughing slightly. “Just take a breath Sienna, would you?”
“You scared me to death” she murmured. “Where were you?”
I gulped. “I–I was in the bathroom”.
Yeah, as if she’s gonna believe you. Good job, re.tard.
She raised an eyebrow and took a look at me. “All night?”
I gulped harder. “Y–Yes. The music was awfully loud so I locked myself in there to calm down a bit” I stuttered.
Did I just stutter? And I expect her to believe me? Oh, no Evelyn, no, no, no. You’re doing it wrong, just NO!
She took a look at me from head to toe, before nodding. “I see. Well, we’re not going to a party again if you hate them so much”.
I sighed. “Thanks Sienna”.
“No problem. We’re sisters!” she giggled and hugged me.
I hugged her back awkwardly before flashing her a small smile. “What’s your first period?”
“World history. You?” she answered.
“English. Ugh” I said, annoyed.
“Don’t worry; you’ll get over it” she said, laughing slightly.
“I guess so”.
“You will, don’t you worry”.
“Yes, yes” I said quickly.
“So, see you on lunch?” she questioned me as she began to walk away.
I waved goodbye, smiling slightly. “See you on lunch”.
