Hey, I'm Anonymous.
Yeah. I've re-done my layout quite a few times.
Here are some things you should know about me:
I love to write. I will never stop writing, I don't care if I'm the worst. Writing is my passion.
I lovelovelove romance, and it's basically all I write. I'm not a big fan of chiche type endings, so I'm sorry if it seems that way.
If you want to know anything else, don't be afraid to comment. I don't bite, well, not all the time anyway ;)

    A CHANGE OF EVENTS
    A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER
    LUKE'S POV
"Alex..." I leaned in, only an inch away from her face. "Why Carl?"
"He makes me feel... like I'm worth something." She mumbled, moving away from me.
"You're worth something to me." I smiled.
I had gone through the effort that night to prove to her how much she meant to me, and she decides to acknowledge Carl. What do I have to do to get some recognition around here?
Alex had been going out with Carl for like what, three weeks? He's a jerk, and he's probably dating 4 other girls on the side.
But I'm one to judge. We had a competition last year seeing who can balance the most amount of girls at once.
Guess who's still the reining champion? Yeah, me.
"He never started a rumour about me in the seventh grade, though." She stammered, tears starting to fall down her face.
"He told you, didn't he." I whispered, suddenly feeling guilty and disappointed.
"You of all people?" She cried at me. "You were my only friend, Luke. How could you?"
"I was caught in the moment... But yeah. That's not a valid excuse."
"I was in love with you my whole life. Little did I know that YOU were the reason that I left the country." She cried, staring at her feet.
She looks beautiful without make up, but when she's crying? Swollen eyes and a red Rudolph nose isn't exactly her best look. I mean, no one likes seeing the one that you love cry.
"Alex... If I could, I would take that whole phase of my life back and re-do it." I pleaded, grabbing ahold of her arm.
"I only went out with Carl to make you jealous." She half laughed while crying. "It was his idea, actually. He's trying to get even with you for dating Alicia to start off with."
I stared at her beautiful eyes, that pierced my brain every time I stared at them.
"Does this mean you forgive me?" I smiled at her, brushing her hair out the way.
"Do you even love me?" She locked her gaze into my eyes, and so did I.
"Well, I think it's pretty obvious."
    ALEX'S POV
"Mum!" I shouted as I got to my bedroom. "Why are there fairy lights all over my bedroom wall?"
"Actually, your mum didn't do it." A voice came from the top level of my bedroom.
    "Carl?" I giggled.
"No..." A person popped out from behind my wardrobe, tone of excitement lowering. "It was me."
"What are you doing here Luke?" I sighed, popping down on my bed.
"I just want to ask you something." He softened his voice, sitting on my bed with me.
The vibe in the room suddenly got intense. It was covered in bright lights and lacey curtains everywhere. My collage wall of Domenic and I covered the wall opposite to my bedhead.
When I saw Luke come out from behind my wardrobe, I was actually relieved. But of course, I didn't want to show him that. I'm still mad at him from what he did to me in middle school.
What baffles me is that he thought I wouldn't find out!
Carl can be quite persuasive, when he wants to be.
"But Alex, why Carl?" He leaned in, with a stern look on his face.
"Um... He makes me feel like I'm worth something." I mumbled, feeling intimidated by how close he was standing.
"You were my only friend Luke. How could you?" I practically bellowed, because I was so desperate for answers.
I thought we were friends, I was lead to believe that for the past 12 years of my life, until I saw that he didn't back me up when that rumour went around. Only to find out that he started that dang rumour. Goddamit, why can't people just be straight froward.
Being 'caught in the moment' is not an apology, I never heard the word 'sorry'.
I had to confess what I was doing. I felt like a complete monster for even doing it. But to be completely honest, at first, I was actually really excited. This was the first time someone ever had a crush on me, and no way in hell was I passing that offer up.
But once I found out that it wasn't real, and it was just to make Alicia and Luke jealous? I don't know... I liked the idea of revenge. But I also hated the person I was turning into.
"Does this mean you forgive me?" He grinned, leaning in closer to me.
His smile so wide and perfect, with picture perfect teeth. And those dimples, oh good Lord, those dimples. I think I'm falling in love already.
His eyes, so blue like the ocean you only see in pictures and movies, like something you have never witnessed. Blue isn't even the right word to describe it, it's more like aqua.
"Do you even love me?" I smiled, not holding back a single emotion.
"Well, I think it's pretty obvious." He smiled, wrapping his arms around my neck.
    And then he kissed me.
    The end.
I felt bad for not finishing the story off, so I finally brought myself to do it.
But I'm pretty sure I won't be writing anymore stories.
Not like anyone's reading them anyway. Lol

    A CHANGE OF EVENTS
    CHAPTER SIXTEEN
    LUKE'S POV
Today at the beach was no less awkward than the past few days.
As soon as Alex came back, I don't know... Things have changed. It's as if the whole world has gone whack. Things have been the same for the past two years, that's until Alex came along.
The sad part is... I kind of like it, a lot.
I was waiting there for what felt like hours, sitting on the rocks in front of the ocean. It was kind of weird, actually.
"You remind me a lot of my ex-girfriend." Some guy named Michael who tagged along with us smiled at Alicia.
"I'm sorry, did you just say next?" Alicia flirtatiously smiled back.
Does she not realise that I'm right here? But I don't really care, anyway. I'm falling in love with Alex, and she's friendzoned me into the next century!
"Haha, no, my ex girlfriend." He laughed, staring at me, hoping that I didn't notice. "She um, died about a week ago."
"Aw! I'm so sorry, what's her name?" She pulled him in for a hug, letting him drape his arms all over her.
"Scarlett Watson." He cried even more.
"Aw, you poor thing!" She sobbed, laying on his shoulder, comforting him.
"Long story, but I had to go to her funeral and my uncle's funeral in one night. It was very confronting. If you knew how it went, you would probably think my life was retarded."
"How kind of you Alicia, hitting on a guy right in front of your boyfriend." I snapped, interrupting their 'cute' moment.
"Whoa, he's you're boyfriend?" He asked, pulling away quickly.
"Don't be rude, Luke! He just lost some people that meant the world to him." She whispered, trying not to sound like she pities him.
I pity the fool that falls in love with that player. He disgusts me.
"Oh gosh Al, you wore wedges to the beach?!" Tess got up and ran towards the western side of the beach, towards a girl with a strikingly amazing body.
"So Alex, this is my friend Charlie, and this is Tess' cousin Michael." She coughed, interrupting Alex and Tess' cute best friend conversation.
Wait, did she just say Michael? As in, Michael Richards? No. This cannot be happening!
"Heyyyyyy." He slurred. It feels like he's trying to make a move on Alex, just because Alicia's taken. No way is that happening.
"Hello." She replied coldly, making me laugh on the inside.
At that moment I kind of zoned out. I thought I was glad that Carl wasn't interfering with Alex anymore and that I can live life peacefully, but now here comes another jerk to come mess with her feelings. Why can't everyone just back off and let both Alex and Alicia be mine?
"What party?!" He shouted at Alex.
"Alex... He actually was at his uncle's funeral last night."
"Gosh, Alex. Insensitive much?" Alicia gasped, shaping her mouth into a perfect O shape.
"Why weren't you there?" I asked Tess, trying to find a loophole in my lie.
"Because he was a distant relative of Michael, not me. He was his mother's cousin." She explained. "My parents went, but they didn't expect me to go."
    Crap. I'm doomed.
"Oh, I'm sorry. It must've been a different Michael." Alex smiled nervously, trying to cover up for a faux pas that was my fault, thanks to Carl, that moron.
You know what the worst part was? She didn't even look at me for the rest of the day.
"Aye! Lukeypoo!" Adam called from the pier.
"Hey guys!" I called out to Carl and Adam, and walked towards them.
"I can't believe he would lie to me..." I heard Alex mutter underneath her breath.
At that point, the lump I already had in my throat was getting bigger, and I couldn't handle it anymore. Goddamit, I just need to tell her. To save our friendship.
"Hey, Alex. Can I talk to you for a minute?" Carl grabbed her by the hand and pulled her to the ocean.
"What is it?" I heard her laugh.
She's so beautiful, I regret not even noticing her as a child.
"Ooh, Carl's getting Lucky." I saw Alicia laugh, causing the rest of the guys and Tess to make immature sounds at them too.

    A CHANGE OF EVENTS
    CHAPTER THIRTEEN
    ALEX'S POV
"Alex?!" Two girls called out in unison as I walked back into the main lounge room.
"Yeah?" I responded back, feeling a little bit confused.
"OMG! It's me, Tess!" She shrieked, and pulled me in for a hug. "I honestly had no clue that you're back! You look so hot."
"Tess! Oh my gosh, I could say the same for you too! What happened to my cute nerd?" I laughed.
"I, happened." A girl smiled. I knew it was Alicia, but I don't feel like acting all friendly to her, after the eighth grade. Stealing someone's man is just so uncool.
"Who..?" I whispered to Tess, slightly pointing my finger in Alicia's direction, accidentally on purpose... sort of.
"Don't you remember Alicia?" Tess gasped, raising her skinny eyebrows and fluttering her fake eyelashes.
"Sorry." I smiled, extending my hand out for her to shake. Yeah, yeah I did remember Alicia. I had dreamed about the day when she would see the new me, and today is that day.
I am no longer that fat nerd getting shoved in the corridors on her way to class.
"Wow! You look ah-mazing! I'm sure we'll be the best of friends." She grinned at me, totally ignoring my gesture and pulling me in for a hug.
"Ooh, speaking of best friends, I forgot to call mine back." I smirked, whipping out my iPhone.
"Does your best friend have a name?" She smiled, trying to make an effort to forget about our vandetta in the past. "Maybe she could roll with us if she ever comes to America."
"Actually, it's a he. His name is Domenic." I chirped, trying to replicate her fake smile.
"Wow, he sounds like a hottie." She winked at me. "Is he Fijian?"
Why the heck is everyone saying I was in Fiji. Where did they pull this crap from?
"Fijian? No, he's technically British but he's half French, half Italian."
"Girls, I call dibs on this one!" Alicia yelled out through the living room, alerting all the girls sitting nearby.
"We're getting married if we're both single by thirty." I smiled at her, predicting what her reaction would be.
"Looks like you'll have to find someone else to marry when you're thirty." She winked at me, totally ignoring Tess' hand movements.
I can't believe she would even say that. She's basically telling me that I'm going to end up single when I'm thirty. Oh yeah, she still hates me.
"Ally, don't you already have a boyfriend? Luke?" She called out, waving her hands in front of Alicia's face as if she were to say 'Earth to Alicia!"
Back this truck up a bit. Did she just call Alicia, Ally?
Funny she should mention that, that's what Tess called me, back in the day.
"Relax, Tess. I'm just kidding! I love Lukey with all my heart." She sighed, oh so lovingly.
"Come on girls, What are you still doing here! The party's starting." Jazzmina called out from the start of the bridge.
"Ooh, Lukey time!" Alicia clapped her hands like a three year old at a candy store.
As soon as we crossed the bridge, the room had totally transformed. It was like a room of nothing, suddenly filled with alcohol and food, and a DJ!
Alicia ditched Tess and I, and ran straight for Luke. I could tell he's enjoying her company, and they seriously will be together forever.
Heck, they lasted a full two years.
Even though I said I didn't have feelings for him, deep down, I still do. I will always have feelings for him, no matter what. He's like become a part of me.
Suddenly, a familiar looking boy came my way, looking like he overdosed on SWAG, just a little bit.
"Hey cutie pie." He winked at me. "Luke told me you'd be here."
"Ah, I should've known." I laughed, trying to shrug off the awkwardness a little.
"Do you mind telling me your name?" He leaned closer to me.
"You'll know by the end of the night." I grinned at him, enjoying his company.
Tess? Where'd you go? I scanned the room, trying to find my old best friend, and I don't see her anywhere. That is, until I see her sucking face with a random guy.
    Score one, for Tess Richards!
"Why are they..." I hear Alicia from where I was standing, trying not to look over there.
"Shh. Let me handle this. Don't say anything, jokes will be on him tonight." Luke responded, before walking over to us.
"Hey! I see you've met my new best friend, Alexandrrrrria!" He interrupted us, emphasising on the R like he were spanish.
"...Robinson?" He not only raised his eyebrow, but also slapped his hand over his mouth.
"Yeah, I get that I lot..." I shrugged, turning red.
"Oh my..." He widened his eyes at me.

    A CHANGE OF EVENTS
    CHAPTER TWELVE
    LUKE'S POV
    Alex? Is that you?
That should be me in there, not Carl. I would do anything to get a date with you.
What am I talking about, I'm with Alicia!
For the first time in my life, I'm on the verge of dumping her, just because I realise there is someone better standing me... this whole time.
"Alex Robinson?" She laughed, awkwardly. I could tell that she was nervous, it was so obvious.
"Wait.. You're the fat chick that got herpes? Why the heck are you even standing next to me, you freak! You should be kept in quarantine!" He gasped, stepping back, although it was in the wrong direction.
"Uh, I'm going to go. That's if I can find the door."
Poor Alex. I wouldn't have done this to you if I knew it were me in that room, instead of that a-hole, Carl.
Am I going to tell Carl that it was her? Sure. Just waiting for the right time...
"Thanks Adam." Carl hissed, stomping into the room. "I got stuck with the retarded chick from the eighth grade."
"Uh... She actually seemed quite hot." A random guy had informed him.
"If you don't want her, I'll have her." A guy winked at his friend, fist bumping him.
"She's all yours." He mumbled. "F-ck. You'd think that she would transfer to whatever country she's in and never come back? Maybe it's because she's still in love with Lukey Wukey"
A giant roar of "Ooooh" came from every single guy in this wing, and I hated this attention.
"No, she doesn't love me, you idiot."
"She's been in love with you her whole life, and you just kept shrugging her off and went looking for Alicia." Was it just me, or did his face cringe when he said Alicia's name?
"That's because I was in love with Alicia my whole life."
"WHIPPED!" A guy yelled from the couch behind me.
Oh great, now everyone's laughing at me. I'm the laughing stock of the group.
"Okay buddy, you go now. You'll never know, you might get Alicia in the dark room." Carl winked at me.
I walked through the bridge that led to the dark room, and found myself in pitch blackness. That was all there was. Black.
    "Hello?" I called out.
"Hey, babe!" A squeaky voice giggled.
Oh, gosh. I could tell this is going to be a LONG date.
The after party was a lot better that you'd think. It was set up nicely, and you would hardly believe that this was once the darkroom. It just felt so empty, and now it's a real party scene.
"Guess who?" A girl whispered in my ears, and placed her hands over my eyes.
Alex? "Alicia?" I called out, hoping it really was Alex.
"Damn, you got me." She giggled.
I turned around and saw what I thought was the most beautiful girl in the world, besides Alex.
I couldn't break up with her, she's too amazing.
Oh well Alex, maybe another time.
    "Baby! Who was your date?"
"I don't know, some girl named Tess?"
"Tess? Tess Richards? Oh my gosh, what a small world! She's like my new best friend." She grinned at me.
"Everyone's like your best friend." I smiled back.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She looked at me, as if I were being sarcastic.
"No, no. I mean like, you're so friendly, I'm not surprised that everyone likes you."
"I could say the same for you too, babe." Her eyes sparkled so perfectly, it made it seem like her eyes were the disco ball.
How could I possibly even consider breaking up with this angel?

    CHAPTER NINE
    ALEX'S POV
"Okay, Honey!" Mum called from the front seat of our white Cadillac Escalade. "We're here!"
There, in front of me was this tradtional American style house which I thought was absolutely beautiful, but cannot compare to our old house.
As I was getting the orange blossom and vanilla two-tiered cake out of the boot, I noticed that the house has been renovated. I remember this house as a child, but it wasn't as big as it was now.
"Luke?" I called out as I walked through the door.
I just called his name out because I didn't recognise him. I had to be sure of it, because he had changed heaps in the space of two years.
Come to think of it, wasn't he at the Boardwalk like 15 minutes ago?
"Alex!" He looked at me like something died on my head.
I felt myself burn up a bit inside, maybe because those feelings I took two years to forget about is suddenly becoming familiar to me again.
Domenic had been texting me the whole day to make sure I was okay.
The truth is, I'm not okay. This whole day has been making me feel woozy.
I still loved Luke, but I'm pretty sure he's still with Alicia.
"Why don't the two of you go upstairs to catch up." Mrs. Larson suggested.
I stood there in his room, completely gobsmacked and speechless.
I had no idea how to hold a conversation with Luke. He probably thinks I'm a ditz for being so awkward.
"How was Fiji?" He asked me, looking completely zoned out.
"France, and yeah. It was amazing! I miss it already."
He doesn't even care enough to remember where I went off to for two years. I really wanted to ask him if he's still seeing Alicia, but I don't even think he likes me enough to respond to that.
"... You know you can take a seat. You don't actually have to stand up?" He told me like I was five years old. He must really think I'm stupid.
To be honest, I wasn't even texting Dom that much, I was just checking my Facebook, and liking my friends' photos. Ha, Alex. What friends?!
"Oh yeah! I didn't realise." I giggled awkwardly.
"Dom?! OMG, hey!" I beamed as I answered my phone.
Luke didn't even realise I was in the room, until I hung up.
"Hey Alex, I was wondering, what are you doing tomorrow?" He asked me.
Oh my gosh, I thought I felt my heart stop for a minute. Was he going to ask me out on a date?!
"Uhh... Nothing, I guess." I stammered. "What's up?"
"My friend's holding this 'dating in the dark' themed party..." He went off into details.
"This seems interesting, I'll do it!" I grinned at him.
Crap. I meant to say, 'I'll come.' Stupid Alex, once again!
Even though I was smiling, I was devastated that he didn't even ask me out on a date.
You know what, Alex. You have spent your whole life obsessing over this one boy.
    It's time to move on.

    CHAPTER SEVEN
    ALEX'S POV
"Oh, darn." Mum sighed as we got into the car. "I forgot to make a cake to bring."
"That's fine, we'll just go without it." I shrugged, hoping to get this over and done with.
"No, no. We have to bring something! I'll just quickly run over to the shops on the Boardwalk."
Without realising at the time, this was a golden opportunity for me to stall the dinner plans.
I was dreading it ever since Mum told me about it, but still. I wasn't looking forward to being bullied for the rest of my schooling life.
"Mum, did you want me to run and get a nice looking one?" I stared straight into her eyes, hoping she would say yes.
"Yes please!" She sighed, in relief. "Here's fifty dollars, run and grab whatever looks best. Preferably orange cake, because you can't eat chocolate anymore."
Oh Mother, why did you have to mention chocolate?
I got out of the car and ran as fast as I could to the Boardwalk using my phone GPS. I hardly remembered what this even city looked like!
The ambience from the sky created a nice warm vibe that spread throughout the beach. The wind blew against my skin, feeling like a personal air conditioner following me as I walked. It was the perfect weather, I didn't want to leave.
So many teenagers, I felt so mainstream.
"I'm going to marry HARRY!" A girl shouted at her friend.
"Whatever. I'm marrying Louis." She turned her head away in defeat.
I didn't even realise that band was famous here, I thought it was just in Paris.
Everywhere you go, you would hear about everything they did.
Status updates reading, "OMG!! ZAYN'S WEARING A BLACK SWEATSHIRT! GUESS WHAT I CHANGED INTO!"
    Seriously? Please.
"Oi, blondie!" A blonde teenage boy called out form behind.
Wow, he's actually really cute. But his friend next to him? I hope he's single.
They look oddly familiar, but I can't really pick out where I've seen them.
    Were they in my class?
"I'm sorry, were you talking to me?" I raised my eyebrow at them. Honestly, I'm not used to being hit on, so I don't really know how to react.
"Yeah, babe." He winked, leaning closer to me. I could smell his hot dog breath, and it was not pleasant. "Number?"
"New phone, don't know it yet." I laughed, awkwardly. Score! The first time someone has tried to hit on me! "Uh... I have to go. See you around?"
Why did I say that. I was supposed to stall the dinner.
But knowing me, I just ran off.
    Stupid Alex. Stupid, stupid Alex.

    CHAPTER SIX
    LUKE'S POV
    Two years later.
"Luke, guess what?" Mum called out from the kitchen.
"What Mum?" I mumbled from the couch, enjoying my game of Halo.
    "Do you remember Alex?"
"Nope." Yes. Of course I did. She was that annoying little vermin that lurched inside of everyone's business.
    Ha, 'little'? I'm funny.
"Oh, well they're coming over for dinner tonight. You're expected to be here."
"Meh." I shrugged. This was just going to be another boring night. We would talk, but then we would most likely go our separate ways, because I'm just that nice.
I was going to hang out with Carl, Adam and Alicia tonight, but it looks like that's going to be cancelled.
Alicia and I have been together for about two years. You'd think that I'd be some kind of player, but no. I respect my girl, and the fact that I wouldn't be popular if it weren't for her.
But yes. I have officially joined the varsity hockey team last winter, with Adam and Carl.
I love them. They're my brothers, been by me through thick and thin.
"Yo, brethren!" Carl called out, as he walked through the front door.
"Yo, man." I laughed, oh Carl. He was the coolest kid you will ever meet.
"I heard that there's a swarm of girls outside, on the boardwalk. We must go."
Mum just sighed, and nodded her head. "Be back before 7."
    Yes! Girls.
I was in a relationship, but hey. It doesn't mean I couldn't check them out, right?
Besides. I was Carl's wingman. I had to help out.
"Oooh, that assss." Carl purred, as he kept his eye on one girl.
"No! That one." He pointed at another.
"Wait... Target acquired." He sprayed a minty breath spray in his mouth, and followed the girl on the boardwalk.
I just laughed and followed along. She's really cute, though. Best looking girl I've seen in ages.
"Hey cutie!" Carl called out from behind. About ten girls turned around, except for her. I actually found it hilarious.
"Oi, blondie!" He whistled at her.
She stopped and turned around, enabling Carl to catch up to her.
"I'm sorry, were you talking to me?" She raised an eyebrow.
I happened to notice that her clothes flattered her body type perfectly, and those tye-dyed high waist shorts flattered her tanned body complexion quite well.
    "Yeah babe." He winked. "Number?"
"New phone, don't know it yet." She laughed. "I have to go, see you around?"
She ran off, just like that.

    A CHANGE OF EVENTS
    CHAPTER FIVE
    ALEX'S POV
    Two years later.
The mid summer back in the good old USA? Priceless.
Oh how I've missed this place, I don't quite remember the people, but yeah. I did love it here.
Don't get me wrong, France was beautiful.
Dad bought a house there that was over looking a river, and you can see the Eiffel Tower from my bedroom window.
Our new house kind of had that same French essence, but oh Lordy. My new house is worthy of throwing a house party in.
I couldn't stand the food that was there, and so I didn't really eat much.
Mum had me on a strict 'no junk' diet, so I lost like, fifty pounds.
Not to mention my amazing school there, Dad had enrolled me at an elite internation school, and I made friends with some of the nicest kids.
You know what the best part was? There wasn't a social food chain. Everyone there were equals, and we enjoyed going to school. No more rumours, no more gossip. It was all just about being friendly to each other, which quite frankly, I didn't think even existed.
I had made couple of new best friends, one of them was Amanda. She was like this amaing kid Einstein, and she went to an Elite school in Orlando.
We always went shopping together, and went to salons to get our hair done, which was really fun. She was like my translator, and spoke French to all the salespeople there. She even taught me how to speak French, which was so amazing.
The other was Domenic, he was from London and was the nicest guy I have ever met. He was the kind of person that you could never offend, and was super nice and gave the best advice whenever you needed it. After being friends with a guy as great as Dom, he makes Luke sound like a jerk.
I turned blonde! I bleached the living daylight out of my beautiful head of hair, which is now malting, sadly.
Mum is insisting on meeting up with the Larsons for dinner tonight, even though I'm jetlagged beyond belief.
Luke Larson? Remember him? He was the guy that I obsessed over since forever.
He should be happy though. I'm over him.
In France, I realised life's too short to obsessed over boys.
I told myself that I should just focus on school. I promised my Dom that if we're single by the age of 30, we'll marry each other which is actually kind of cute.
"Come on Lexi, are you ready?" Mum called out from the door.
"Yeah Mum!" I responded, running from my new double storey bedroom.
I didn't really dress up or anything, it was just a tied-up collared vest type shirt with high waisted short-shorts and all black denim Converses. No biggie.
I have found pictures of Alex's new house and bedroom, if you guys want to see, please leave a comment! I really need feedback.

    A CHANGE OF EVENTS
    CHAPTER FOUR
(Last one was supposed to say three)
    LUKE'S POV
Wow. Seeing Alex sad is actually depressing.
But in a way it symbolises my freedom.
The wrath of Alexandria is no longer upon me, and I am well and truly free of all dorkiness.
A saw a few tear drops fall from her eyes, as she made her way towards Tess Richard's locker.
"Yo, C-Dog." I called out to Carl.
    "What's happening bro?" He grinned.
"Why's Alex getting egg shells and apple cores thrown at her?" I said, pointing towards the crowd of children aiming for her like a trash can.
"That thing about her being incest and crap? That's gone VIRAL." He laughed.
Again, WOW. I didn't know I had that much control over people at our school.
"What the F*CK?!" I heard Alex screech from the end of the corridor.
Who knew she had the mouth of a trucker?
The next thing you know she gets sent to the principal's office, and the rest is history.
"Luke, get dressed." Mum called out to me as I walked through the door. "There's going to be a Bon Voyage party over at the Robinson's."
Wait, wait. Did she say Bon Voyage? If I'm not mistaken, that means they're leaving.
Bonus! My little rumour is shooing her out of California!
"Can't I just go like this?" I pleaded, pointing at my Varsity jacket, Vans and SnapBack.
"Whatever." She spoke, sounding quite upset.
When Mum's like this, it's best to do what she says.
I quickly changed into a decent looking shirt and shorts, since it is still the beginning of Autumn.
Mum, Dad and I left the house, completely silent.
Mum was probably the quietest of them all. It looked like she was really going to miss them.
This may sound mean, but I am seriously glad she's leaving.
"Bon Voyage, Aurielle." She smiled, pulling Mrs. Robinson in for a hug.
The look on her face, I have never seen before. I have never seen my mother cry like that.
The Robinsons have been with our family since forever, them leaving is like a part of us dying.
"I'll miss you Donna." She whispered in her ear.
Oh, here comes fat Alex stomping down the stairs, causing an earthquake.
Earthquake? Nah, just Alex Robinson. I'm so using that one on Carl and Adam tomorrow.
"Hey," She spoke silently. "Before I leave, I wanted to give you this."
She handed me a small lotus flower pin, that said 'friends', each letter on a separate petal.
She showed me an almost identical one, with the exception that hers says the word 'best' on every second petal.
"Thanks." I mumbled. "Where you headed?"
She seemed amused by my attempt to speak like Carl and Adam, but whatever. "France, Dad got offered a job there."
"Cool." In actual fact I just wanted to say 'meh' and walk away, but after all I had caused, that would be cruel.
I felt awful for what I did, not to Alex, but to Mum. I had never seen her so miserable.

    A CHANGE OF EVENTS
    CHAPTER ONE
    ALEX'S POV
The next morning at school wasn't looking so great for me.
First party I was actually invited to, was the day I got my heart broken.
Alexandria Robinson actually got her heart broken?
Please. No one would believe that for a second.
I was so repulsive, I think people doubted my abilty to even have a single emotion.
That party was such a disaster, I think I even drank some of the alcohol that some kids smuggled in.
All I remember is that I drank like a full can of Vodka, and then I tripped in my own vomit for getting drunk, and then Alicia's mother called my parents and said that I felt ill.
If it weren't for Mrs. Warren, I would probably be sent to a juvenile detention center for even tasting alcohol.
I can tell Luke had a good night.
He had his girlfriend all over him, he had his hand around her waist and pulled her in close.
She just rested her head on his shoulder, acting totally cool.
Damn. How I envied her right now.
Well, if anything I blame my lack of game that night on my unexpected outburst of acne.
    Why does acne even exist?!
It makes teenagers socially unacceptable until they got rid of it.
"Hey, Luke!" I shouted out across the hall.
Unfortunately, I don't think he heard me, because he didn't turn around, not even a glimpse.
    Yeah. That's great.
While his popularity was shooting up the middle school social food chain, I'm stuck right where I was a year ago.
    With the vermin, and roaches.
Ha, no. Actually, with the chess club, if I were to speak realistically.
If only there were some way that he would notice me, I would sell my soul to the devil, for him to even think of me as something more.

    A CHANGE OF EVENTS
    EPILOGUE
    LUKE'S POV
Yes! Finally it's Alicia's party, now I can finally make my move on her.
No one understands how big of a deal it was actually attending her party.
If I can even get with her… I'll be the most popular guy in school!
Back in elementary school, I would always sit in front of Alicia every time we walked into class.
It was perfect. She was perfect.
Her deep blue eyes were like an ocean of perfection, and her light brown hair fell perfectly from her head every single day.
You know what, perfect wouldn't even begin to describe how great she was.
She was always nice to people, which captured people's attention greatly.
You'd wonder why we weren't together already.
You see, there's this girl I've kind of known my whole life, her name was Alexandria, and she was the biggest dork I have ever seen.
She weighed more than a hippo, she had a mouth full of metal and I mean, seriously! Her glasses are from like, the nineteenth century!
I wouldn't even be friends with her if it weren't for Mum and Dad. My parents and her parents were all best friends back in college or something, and that was apparently a good enough reason for me to be her best friend.
I don't really have many friends, so I guess she will have to do for now.
Anyway, the night of all nights was happening in under fifteen minutes, and I feel like I've gone to extreme lengths to try and impress the girl of my dreams.
Once I arrived, I couldn't help but notice that Alicia was surrounded by everyone that's worth talking to.
Darn. My chances aren't looking so great. But, that's until she actually approached me herself and started a conversation with me.
"Luke!" She beamed. "You actually made it tonight?"
"Of course!" I grinned at her, hoping that I wasn't overdoing it yet again. "How could I miss it?"
"Aw, you're so sweet." She blushed, the disco ball was reflecting her pink face so beautifully, it was almost mesmerising.
"Alicia… I like you." I stood there, looking at my feet. "More than just a friend."
"Well then kiss me silly!" She giggled. After mentally pep talking myself into doing it for a split second, I realise it was well worth it because it was one of the most amazing experiences, ever.
I took one step in at grabbed her by the neck gently, pulling her in closer, and closer.
Just like that, I believe magic happened that night.
