    Chapter Five | Maci's POV
I remembered the day, nine years ago, just like it was last week. I felt my legs turn to jelly as Cody tightened his grip, to hold me up as I remembered back to that day.
“Cody!” I said in my six year old voice.
“What Maci?” He asked as he looked up, his long hair covering his eyes.
He wiped his hand over his forehead, so he could see me properly.
“I bet you that I could go a g-jillion time higher than you on the swings!” I challenged.
“Okay then Maci,” He took the ropes of the swing he was sitting on and gripped them tightly.
I jogged over to the swings and sat down, holding the ropes tightly. 3... 2... 1...Go!” He shouted as we both kicked off the ground and swung our legs rapidly at the right moment.
    “I’m winning,” I shouted.
    “Nope,” He screamed back.
I swung my head around and looked at Cody, with his brown hair blowing in the wind. But then one of my arms loosened and I swung around the other rope and flew across the grass, completely ruining my blue dress.
Cody jumped off the swing and landed on his hands and knees beside me. We got up as our eyes both widened, looking down at my green and brown stained dress.
“You can wear my jeans and T-shirt,” Cody whispered.
“Okay,” I whispered back. “My mummy and your mummy are in the kitchen, so we’ll have to go through your window.”
Cody and I ducked down and crawled across the grass. Cody’s window was slightly open so we pulled it open to its maximum and slide up through it and glided through onto the floor of his bedroom. Cody came behind me and started to get a pair of his jeans and a T-shirt with a dinosaur printed on it.
I went into the bathroom and got changed into his clothes and put my dress in the sink and let Cody in, so we could scrub it. It didn’t work too well...
I zoned back in and looked up at Cody, who was still holding me. “Do you remember that day with my dress...?”
“...and my jeans and dinosaur T-shirt...”
I looked at the swing set in front of me. “I bet you that I could go a g-jillion time higher than you on the swings!” We laughed.
    “Okay Maci...” He played along.
We hopped on the swings and started swinging high. I laughed so much that I had to stop to take a breath; Cody did the same.
“I miss this so much,” I said after I caught my breath.
“I know Maci, me too... But hey, we’re still best friends... and that’s all that matters... right?” He looked at me. Those eyes just made me melt.
    “Yea,” I smiled.
We stayed around the abandoned house, talking for the next hour. Then I got another splitting head ache and Cody took me home. “See you later,” I said, rubbing my head. He gave me a hug and we went in.
My laptop broke but thank goodness it was backed up; phew :)

    Chapter Four | Maci's POV
I got a quick shower then I decided in wearing my grey skinny jeans, red and white patterned top, golden necklace, hoop ear rings, gold elastic hair band and grey boots. I straightened my long, Strawberry blonde hair and flattened it down a bit in the mirror. It was cold outside, so I put my white jacket over it and went to meet Cody.
He was sitting on a bench, head down and thumbs moving across the buttons on his phone. I flicked him on the forehead when I got close enough and he looked up quickly rubbing his head, frowning. When he saw me, his eyebrows detached and a smile grew across his face.
“Hey Maci,” He stood up, sliding his phone into his pocket. “You ready to go?”
“Where are we going exactly?” I questioned him.
He taped the side of his nose and grinned.
    I sighed, “Gimmie a hint?”
He shook his head, “Please!” I whined.
“Nope,” He laughed. “Just follow me.”
So Cody led me out of the park and down a road that looked strangely familiar, but at the same time, I never remember being down it. “Do you trust me?” Cody said out of the blue.
“Yea, of course,” I said, confused.
“Will you put this blind fold on then? I promise I’ll hold your hand.”
    “Okay...”
I took the blind fold and wrapped it around my head, covering my eyes. I started tying it, but after few seconds, two cold, muscular and rough hands set on mine and started tying it for me. “Thanks,” I muttered.
Those hands let go after tightening it but soon grabbed on to mine. He lead me for quite a while, I hadn’t a clue where we were going. “Cody?” I asked.
“Hold on...” He said as he stopped me.
Cody’s cold hands tickled the back of my neck as I flinched – I am the most ticklish person you could ever meet. The light met my eyes for the first time in what felt like ten minutes. I scrunched up my eyes until I got used to the light and when I could see properly, my eyes widened as millions of memories came flooding back to me.
My view got blurred as an uncontrollable smile washed across my face. “Cody...” I breathed.
“You remember then?” He asked, rhetorically.
I nodded, biting my lip, trying to control my uncontainable smile.
In front of me was a rundown house with a small garden to the right. It had a rusted swing and a broken see-saw, but it meant the absolute world to me. This was the place where Cody and I became best friends; nine years ago... today. I then clasped my hands behind his neck, burying my head in his shoulder.
I wrote chapter Three on the last one so I had to delete it :|

    Chapter Three | Maci's POV
Cody was standing with his legs still not visible under the dirt and grass of the field, half washed off. It looked like a wash of paint and dirt mixed up like paint. But I ignored it and looked up to his face, which was also painted with dirt.
“I wanted to give you a hug,” He smiled innocently, but then I looked at his arms and football shirt covered in anything you could find in the field. His smile turned into a smirk as he started to run. I spun around, already sprinting before I’d turned the full 180 degrees.
“Cody no,” I screamed as I slid down the hall, yanking the door open and thrusting it shut as I went out.
“Oh yes Maci, don’t you want a hug from your best friend?” He appeared outside behind me.
“Cody! Leave-me-alone! I’ll give you a hug after you get washed,” I shouted, letting the laughter escape me.
“No, I want one now,” I opened the school gate and slammed it behind me.
But Cody, being on the football team, and well... being a boy in general... jumped over the gate. He finally caught up with me and wrapped his arms around me. I tried to wriggle out of his grip but he hugged me tighter. I laughed uncontrollably as he pinned me to the ground, tickling me.
    “Co-day get- off,” I screeched.
I then started tickling him and he fell to the pavement beside me, laughing with me. Cody got up and put out his arm to me. I grabbed him by the elbow and pulled myself up. Once I was upright, I took my finger and brushed below my eye to take the tear of laughter from my eye.
“I’ll see you later,” I said, with a stupid smile on my face and a slight giggle through my words.
“Bye Maci,” He did the same, and started walking up to school.
I lifted my bag from the ground and looked along the road for my mum’s car. It didn’t take much looking because my mum was in two cars from where Cody had chased me to. She was watching me with a soft smile and a hand on her heart, but when she saw me, she gestured for me to come to her.
I pecked her on the cheek as soon as I got in, “How are you Love?” She asked me.
“I’m fine, you?” I buckled my seatbelt.
“Good,” She said as we drove off to the shops.
I sang along to the songs on the radio before and after we went to the shops.
“In another life, I would be your girl; we’d keep all our promises, be us against the world!” I sang and swung my head to the beat.
“Help me in with the shopping darling?” Mum asked as she turned the key in the ignition.
“Sure,” I said as I got out of the car, still humming the tune to ‘The One that Got away’.
We got inside and packed away the groceries. I spent the rest of the night on my laptop, on Facebook, Witty and YouTube. I read some of Harry Potter (I’m working through the series for the third time) and then mum and I watched ‘The Goblet of Fire’, my favourite film of the series.
Mum told me, the next morning, that I feel asleep at half ten, when I asked, because I woke up on the sofa with a blanket wrapped around me. I stretched and rubbed my eyes to waken me up. It was Saturday, so I stayed in my pyjamas until about half ten, when the doorbell rang. I slipped on my slippers and waddled up the hall.
I opened the door to see gorgeous eyes staring me in the face. “Hey Cody,” I hugged him automatically.
“Wanna come out a while?” He asked.
“Well... how about I meet you in half an hour at the park?”
“Sure,” He said. “Bye,” And he walked away.
I closed the door and ran down the hall to my room. “I’m going to go out with Cody,” I said to mum while I was in my room, getting changed.
“It’s about time,” she laughed. I rolled my eyes. “I’m going to go outside with Cody,” I sighed.
“I’m only joking with you love,” I knew she was smiling, even though I couldn’t see her.
That's the last part for today :( I'll post up again tomorrow :) && As always, ask me o update you and I will oh and also vv

Chapter Two, Part One | Maci's POV
“Cody,” Our teacher stared at us.
    “Yes miss?”
“What were you and Marci shouting about? And why were you two late for class?”
“Um... We were out on the bleachers...”
She rolled her eyes. “I’m putting you both a mark in my book, not so good on your first day hmm?”
“It was my fault miss,” Cody said. “Maci didn’t do anything.”
“No, Cody, don’t say that,” I whispered.
“No...” Cody whispered, trying to hide it.
“Is there something you want to share with the class, Maci?”
“I was just saying that it wasn’t Cody’s fault.”
“So...” Our teacher looked down at an open book, “A mark for each of you’s?”
    “N-,” Cody started.
    “Yes,” I interrupted him.
We got out our books as our teacher started to ‘teach’.
“Maci,” Cody whispered, behind his hands, still looking up at the teacher.
    “Yea, what is it?”
“Why did you want a mark, she would have let you off, you know.”
“Because... well... we’re always together, right?”
    “Yes,” Cody answered.
“We usually get in trouble at the same time...”
    “Right...”
“So... I wouldn’t want you, bored in Detention, now would I?”
“Well... no... But it was my fault...”
“No it wasn’t Cody...” I frowned at him.
He rolled his eyes, knowing not to argue with me.
    “Cody?” The teacher bellowed.
“Crap,” Cody said under his breath. “Yes miss?” He asked.
“Answer the question I asked,” She looked at him slyly.
He kicked his friend, Liam, from under the table, signalling to him, that he didn’t know what the question was.
“What is-,” Liam started, but got cut off.
“Do you want another mark Cody?”
    “No miss.”
“Well then sit down and be quiet,” She scolded.
Cody sat down and rolled his eyes as soon as she turned around.
Ages later, the bell rang and everyone ran out of class.
    “I hate her,” Cody complained.
    “Same,” I replied.
As we approached the door to history, I turned around and hugged Cody, as he was going to football practice.
“Bye,” He lifted me up so my feet were dangling.
“Put me down,” I demanded. “People will start to talk.”
    “They’re already talking,” A girl’s voice giggled.
I turned my head slightly to see Abbie, grinning at me and Cody. He dropped me lightly on the ground to let me go.
“Bye, Cody,” I waved as he started to go towards the changing rooms.
“Bye Maci,” He put his hand up – as it’s too girly to wave.
Check back on my profile for the next part because this is quite a boring chapter :/
Thanks for the motivation on my last chapter :') Ask if you want me to update you on chapters :* Love you all <3

    Chapter One | Maci's POV
Hey, my name’s Marci but I go by Maci. I’m a pretty normal fifteen year old girl – Heart break, tears, laughs and late night parties – the usual. But little did I know - my life would change completely in the next year. It all started on the second week of September, but we’ll start at the first day of our new term.
I was with Cody, my best guy friend for nine years - ever since I was six. I was sitting on the very front row of the bleachers, watching him casually kicking around a football in the space of about two meters.
I heard my name being screamed, and before I had even looked to see who was calling, I was almost knocked off the seat with blonde locks covering my view. It was my best friend, Abbie.
“Hey Abbie,” I smiled, hugging her back.
She sat down on the bleachers beside me, not noticing Cody... we had only been sitting about thirty seconds, when a bell rang from the distance - it was the start of school.
“Ugh...” Cody whined, kicking the football in the air and catching it.
    “Cody,” Abbie said startled.
    “Na, its Jim...” Cody joked.
“Shut up,” Abbie rolled her eyes as we got up and started heading into school.
We got inside through the door in the changing rooms and went into the corridor. Abbie had geography and I had Spanish, so we did a quick hug, mumbled goodbye and I started to walk away when Cody called from behind.
    “What? No hug?” He pouted.
I laughed, rolled my eyes and sighed as I threw my arms around his chest. He hugged me tight and then I realised...
“Cody, don’t you have Spanish with me next?”
    “Um... Yea...?”
“Just love me that much,” I giggled.
    “Shut up,” He said shyly.
“Are you saying that you don’t love me?” I acted hurt.
“I didn’t say that. Of course I love you Maci,” He lifted me up quickly and threw me over his shoulder.
“Put me down!” I screamed through my laughter, kicking and hitting his back with clenched fists, playfully.
“Well you don’t wanna be late for class,” He laughed, running down the hall with me.
    “Put me down!” I squealed.
    “Nope,” He said plainly.
He ran down the hall and we were laughing so hard we almost missed the class room. “Mr Thomas,” Our teacher grunted.
Cody set me down, still quietly laughing to ourselves. “Sorry miss,” Cody said, pursing his lips, holding in the laughter. Everyone in the class was now turned around in their chairs, watching the door in which we were standing. We walked in together and took our seats at the back, beside each other.
Boring first chapter, I know; but I'll get to the point of the story in the next few :)

    Chapter Twelve.
He must have woken up with my movement because I felt his arm creep back up onto my waist. I smiled and cuddled in tight to him. I must have fallen asleep again because I woke up with the sun shining brightly in my eyes. I looked up to Jake, he was sitting up and my head was resting below his knees.
“Finally,” He sighed, quickly followed by a smile.
    “Shut up,” I blushed.
I quickly took out my mirror that is forever in my pocket. But before I could open it, His hand had slid over the reflective part and had blocked my view of my face. I tried to push it off but he kept his grip and took it from me. He put his finger beneath my chin and tilted my head back.
“You’re looking beautiful Cassie. Believe me. In fact, I dare you to not wear any make-up, straighten or whatever else you can do with your hair or even look into a mirror.”
    “What do I get?”
“Your real beauty; make-up and all that isn’t you baby, you’re so beautiful under all that Cassie. I Love you,” He smiled at me.
I looked at the ground and he held out my mirror. I put my hand on it and then slowly took it and put it in my pocket.”Good Girl,” He smiled.
“Now,” He stood up on the duvet that was covering the floor of the truck. “Where’d you wanna go?”
“Where ever,” I got up and followed him towards the very back.
“I’ll walk you home,” He said jumping down off the truck. “And you can do what ya do,” Jake giggled. “I’ll wait and when you’re ready, we’ll go where ever you wanna go.”
Jake put his hands on my waist and I went to jump off the back of the truck, but with his support, he lifted me up and pulled me close. My feet gently touched the ground and he took my hand.
I led him to my house and knocked on the door. The door quickly opened and mum was standing in the door way with a knowing smile on her face.
“Mum, I’m sorry, I-,” I stopped when mum mumbled, ‘I know’, still with the beaming smile across her face.
“I rang your mother,” She looked quickly at Jake. “And she told me everything.”
    “Like what?” I said slowly.
“Oh I duno, Like how you and Jake fell asleep in each other’s arms out in his truck. And how Jacob’s mum was sure he finally said those three words,” Mum’s smile broadened. “And how you two kissed.”
I went pink in the face and I saw Jake’s cheeks do the same. His arm was diagonally across my back and his hand was at my waist. He pulled me close and looked at me. “Yea,” I muttered, getting lost in his eyes.

    Chapter Eleven.
”J-Jake,” I stuttered, I looked up at his gorgeous blue eyes, He was biting his lip but he was smiling behind it.
He nodded at me, looking for an answer. “I-It’s just- it’s be- I’ll just-,” Jake stuttered then put his hand on the page.
I kept my grip and looked him in the eyes and slowly blinked. “I Love you,” I smiled reassuringly.
A smile filled his face, as if he couldn’t hold it back- “Wow look at that one!” Jake rotated around quickly, his leg overhanging the truck. He was now standing up and pointing. My head had turned with his voice and I was looking at, what I could see, was a shooting star.
We both closed our eyes quickly and started saying a wish over in our heads. Can you guess what mine was? It’s the same as all my 11:11 wishes - for Jake of course, but now that he’s mine, I added some to my usual wish.
It might be a bit of a leap but, it’s always worth wishing. I opened my heart and let it speak to my mind. “I wish for Jake to stay with me until my last day, for him to be holding my hand on my last breath. For him to Love me, for who I am and to Love me, forever,” My heart spoke.
I opened my eyes and saw Jake open his too. He looked at me and smiled, I got lost in his eyes and he put his arms around me and pulled me tight to him. Our eyes both closed, my heart was beating fast as he pressed his lips against mine.
It was as if fireworks went off in the sky. My heart was beating so fast, I was sure it was going to come out of my chest.
He looked down at me and I looked up at him, “Not because I had to, but because I want to.” His words made me smile even more. The words that he had just spoken were the words he’d said to me the night of the party; the night, when everything felt right, the night when everything fell into place and the night when I fell for him.
I turned my head and put it on his chest and closed my eyes. We sat on the edge of the truck and he held me tight.
We ended up in the corner of the back of the pick-up again. His chest was acting as my pillow. He had his arm across my chest as we stared up at the stars. The silence was comfortable and my hand was warm as his hand was clutching mine.
The air was like the air on a summer’s night, but I wasn’t protesting about the warmth of his body close to mine.
The last I remembered of that night was the moon shining on my face and a light kiss from him, of which, I thought I heard “I Love You Cassie,” of his beautiful voice.
I woke up with his slow breathing, moving my head, which was still on his chest. There was a blanket on me, which I don’t remember being there before I fell asleep. I squeezed my eyes together hard and then turned a little and looked up at Jake, to see if he was awake. His eyes were closed and his arm was at the edge of my waist. I rotated my body around so it was sitting parallel to his. I put my hand slowly on his chest and my head below where his collar bone is. I closed my eyes and pulled the blanket up over both of us.

    Chapter Ten.
    *1 Year Later*
“Hey Cassie,” I saw Jake sitting on the hood of his pick up that he’d drive around his yard.
“Hey Jake,” I smiled, opening his gate.
“How’s you,” He smiled, opening the door of the pickup.
    “Fine,” I got in.
“How about a game of Hangman,” Jake looked at me.
    “Sure,” I smiled.
He took out a writing page; I took it from him and flicked through to find the next blank page. But the page before the blank one was the page I doodled on last time. I smiled, it had ‘Jake & Cassie BFF’ in a heart and smiley faces and loads of ‘Cassie, you’re beautiful’ which I tried to scribble out but he wouldn’t let me.
I turned it around to Jake and he laughed. “Right, I’ll go first,” I handed him the book and he started drawing dashes, indicating letters. He’d spilt it up into three words, the first word with three letters, the second with three also and the last with nine. So it looked like this:
    _ _ _ | _ _ _ | _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
    “Okay, first letter?”
“Do all the vowels first,” I said.
He did so and it looked like this:
    _o u | a _ e | _ e a u _ i _ u _
“Oh yeah,” I smiled. “Um... Is the first word you?”
“Yup,” He filled in the Y.
    “Second word, ‘are’?”
    “Yep,” He filled it in.
I then started to go through the alphabet, I got down to ‘l’ and then he said that I’d got it, I looked to see what it was, ‘You are beautiful’.
I smiled, “Don’t lie to me, Jake,” I blushed.
“Don’t you lie my beautiful,” He looked at me, “Good girl, you don’t have make-up on.”
    “I know you hate it.”
“That’s because it hides your beautiful face.”
I opened went to argue but before I could do anything; he looked me in the eyes, which he knew would make me shut up.
    “That’s not fair,” I giggled.
“I didn’t want you going and telling lies.”
I opened my mouth to disagree but shut it again. “Good,” He smiled.
“Look! The stars are out!” I pressed my head against the cold window.
“Let’s go see them then,” Jake got out; my head was still pressed against my window.
He came around to my side of his car and opened the door; my head jolted forwards when he opened it but he took my hand and led me to the back of the car. There was a duvet spread over the floor of the open space. He put his foot up and stood up on the back of the pick-up.
I took his outstretched hand and walked over the few steps to the corner of the pick-up. We both sat down and looked up at the stars.
“Look! I can see a heart,” I pointed up to the starlit sky.
We discuss what we could see in the dot-to-dot of the starts.
A gust of wind swept over us and I got a sudden shiver. Jake slid over and his jeans touched my legs again. He put his arm around me and pulled me close. He pulled his jacket over my arms to keep me warm. My head was at his chest and I could feel his heart beating faster than normal. I smiled and, feeling me move, he looked down at me. “Wow,” He whispered, really quietly.
I smiled again; I closed my eyes and saw the permanent picture of his smile and beautiful eyes, stamped on the inside of my eye lids. We then continued or conversation on the stars.
I heard a crumple of paper; I looked up in reaction to this. Jake had a folded up page in his hand. He set it on my lap, on it, it had my name. I opened it up and after unfolding a few folds, I saw not a letter, but just three words written carefully on the page.
    I Love You

    Chapter Nine.
The party died down and soon Skye came out to Jake and I. “Hey Cassie, I’m gonna go,” She said, pointing at the house.
“Same,” I slid off the front of the car.
Jake did the same and we all started to walk home. Jake went into his avenue and we walked on, I turned around a couple of times to wave to him.Skye and I went back to mine and collapsed on my bed and instantly fell asleep. In the morning, she asked me all about last night and I told her everything in detail.
“...Skye, it was amazing. His eyes, oh his eyes; they are amazing...”
Skye interrupted me by giggling without hiding it. I gave her a puzzled look and she said with a smile, “You’re falling for him Cassie.”
“I’m not,” I looked at the ground, remembering Jake again, which made my face light up.
    “See!” She pointed at me.
    “Shut up,” I blushed.
“I was right,” She danced around my room singing.
    “Shut up!” I blushed harder.
“I don’t care how many times you deny it,” Skye sat back down on my bed. “I know the truth,” She grinned.
I didn’t bother replying. I didn’t wanna argue against it because, when I think about it, I do really like him. I might be falling for him. But it’s only been a month and a half. Falling in Love doesn’t have a limit of time. I didn’t bother arguing with my heart. I’m in Love, nothing I can do about it.

    Chapter Eight.
I turned to go out to the back door of Luca’s house because I saw that it was quiet. I saw a pickup truck and stood in front of it, gradually, resting on it. I had my arms folded; trying to warm them up since the cold breeze numbed my legs. I’d been standing out a few minutes when I heard a noise from the silence of just the wind blowing on my face. I turned to look at the door and saw Jake. “Just needed some air,” I lied. “It’s warm in there.” “Look Cassie,” Jake started. “It’s not that I didn’t want to kiss you. It’s that I just, didn’t want you thinking that I did it because I had to and not that I wanted to.” Jake was now standing right in front of me. “It’s alright; I’m not worrying about it. I’ve forgot about it,” I looked at the ground. “I know you haven’t Cassie,” He put a cold finger below my chin and moved my head up so my eyes were lined with his. I had a flashback to the first day when I first looked into his eyes. “I-Jay-I-,” I stuttered. His eyes became smaller as his face formed into a smile. It was like I was under a trance. His eyes became bigger as he came closer; I was still struggling to speak. His jeans touched my legs and his hands touched mines. I stopped trying to speak. I rested my head on his chest and he put his arms around me. I pulled out and looked up at him; he slowly pushed the hair that was hiding my eyes, away from my face. “You shouldn’t hide that beautiful face with make-up.” Jake smiled, still extremely close to me. I looked at the ground and smiled. He knows exactly what to say. “So do you forgive me?” “Yea,” I smiled. He took off his jacket and draped it over my shoulders. He sat up on the hood of the pick up beside me and we started talking like best friends again. I glanced over at the house full of people and saw Skye, she grinned at me as if to say ‘Told you so’. I smiled back and turned back to talking to Jake.

    Chapter Seven.
“Hey Cass- Wow, you look beautiful,” He said and his cheeks went bright red. “Hi Skye,” He said, trying to forget about what had slipped out.
I looked at the ground and smiled, my cheeks warming in a blush.
“Hi Jake,” Skye poked me in the ribs.
“The guys have gone on; want me to walk with you girls?”
“Well we have to go change, so if you wanna wait, you can but we might be a few minutes.”
    “That’s alright,” Jake smiled.
So Skye and I went into the bathroom and I went into a cubical each. I took off my hoodie and pulled off my jeans. I stuffed them in a bag and went out to the mirrors.
I took out my make-up and put a little on, not wanting to look plastered with it, but wanting to look pretty. Skye came out and did the same and we went out. Jake was standing outside, walking up and down, and looking down at his phone. “Ready?” He asked.
“Ready,” Skye and I said in sync.
We all started walking to Luca’s house. I could hear the pumping music when we were three houses away. The front yard was filled with cars, parked a few centimetres away from each other. Jake, Skye and me all walked up to the door and rung the bell a few times, knowing it wouldn’t be heard over the music. “Hey Jake,” Luca opened the door with a cup in his hand, taking a sip.
He went to step back to let us in and tripped over his own feet. I was pretty sure whatever Luca had in the cup, was alcoholic.
We went in together but soon, Jake had started talking to someone and Skye and I had walked on. In about an hour, my ears had adjusted to the music and I’d got used to having to shout to say something to Skye.
I saw Jake sitting down at a table, so I sat down beside him and just as I said hey, I found out that the game that was being played, was spin the bottle.
It was the boy beside Jake’s turn and either Jake had just gone or he was up next. The bottle turned and slowed down to a halt, with the top of the bottle pointing at the girl beside the spinner. He kissed her on the cheek, and it wasn’t a surprise and realised they were the couple in our school that’d been going out for over for two years now.
“Jake, your turn,” Luca said in a slurred voice. My heart started to beat fast, how would this turn out? Either it’d be another girl and I’d make a new enemy or it’d be me and I’d get butterflies.
Jake put his hand at the neck of the bottle and pushed it. In slow motion, I watched it spinning, past another girl and another, six or seven times until it finally started to slow down.
Everyone’s eyes were following it and finally it stopped. I suddenly realised who it stopped at. Me.
    “Kiss or miss?” Luca said.
I looked up at Jake and saw his head shake right and left, trying not to make it obvious. Oh. I stood up and muttered, “I-I gotta go speak to Skye.”

    Chapter Six.
I quickly hit the buttons to text Skye.
Me: Jake just invited me to a party, at Luca’s house. Come to mine and we’ll get ready for the party at seven? :) So excited! Text back quick! 
Skye: Yes! I’ll bring a suitcase of our party clothes and make up. I’ll tell mum I’m staying with you tonight and you tell your mum that we’re going out to meet friends and put something over our clothes and take it off when we get out of your avenue and then we’ll have the right clothes and the right party. This will be amazing! :) Can’t wait x
    Me: Can’t wait!
I got up and went into the kitchen where mum was. “Mum, can Skye come over tonight? We’re going out to meet friends though.”
“Yea, sure,” Mum said, without looking up from her magazine.
Skye coming over wasn’t an unusual thing. She was over nearly every day and there hasn’t been a weekend since I met her that she hasn’t been over at mine or me over at hers. We’d go down town and meet people. This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve been to one of these parties that our mum’s have no idea about.
“Thanks mum,” I walked out of the kitchen and lay back down on my bed.
I put my phone back in my pocket and started to think about what we’d wear when I sat up with a start when a knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. I could hear the door opening and the wind blowing in. The cold air wafted below my door and goose bumps spread over my arms and legs. I heard the muffled voice of my mum saying, “Come on in. She’s in her room,” and then a very familiar voice replying, “Thanks, Mrs Jenkins.”
The door closed and the wind stopped blowing. I heard the pattering of feet along the carpeted hall. My door opened and without looking, I knew who it was; my best friend, Skye.
“Hey Cassie,” She sat down on my bed.
    “Hey Skye,” I said.
“So,” she turned to me with a red glow on her cheeks from the blowing wind. “How’d it go with your future husband, I mean, Jake,” She laughed.
“Fine,” I replied, not bothering to argue.
“So,” She pulled a suitcase sized bag around to the side of my bed.
“I’ve got everything in here,” She put down the handle and tipped it on its side.
“Okay, did you put your jeans in and a hoodie?” I opened up my wardrobe. “Borrow mine if you want.”
“I have them. So I was thinking of wearing this,” She pulled out a see-through top, but with a strappy top attached below so you couldn’t see right through. She also had skinny jeans to put over her white short-shorts.
“Beautiful. I have this,” I pulled out a two-piece top, the bottom layer is a white top and the second layer was a half top that was grey with Silver lettering reading, CALIFORNIA GIRL.
    “Awesome,” Skye smiled.
I locked my door and we quickly started to get dressed into our party outfits, then to cover up we put our jeans and hoodie over the top. Skye did the same and I unlocked my door. “Bye mum,” I shouted as I went out the door.
Skye and I walked down the avenue and talked about what could happen tonight. Of course she was going on again, about Jake and me. “Cassie, it could happen. Nothing’s impossible.”
    “Skye, it won’t.”
“Well, I’m just saying it can happen.”
“Whatever... We’ll go into the public toilets to get changed?”
    “Yea,” Skye replied.
The toilets were in sight, when I heard a voice in the distance. It was pitch black but the street lights shone down on the footpath and the outline of a person was coming towards us. “Is that you Jake?” I squinted, trying to make out his face.

    Chapter Five.
We walked across the school grounds and on to the footpath. We walked and talked as I led him to where my house is. We said goodnight and just as I was about to say bye, mum came in behind me. “Hello,” She said. “Who’s this handsome young chap Cassie?” She said in my ear but not in a whisper.
    “Mum!” I pushed her away.
“Goodnight Cassie,” Jake said in a giggle.
“Night Jake,” I said, shutting the door soon after, so mum couldn’t say anymore, now knowing his name.
“Jake,” She nudged me lightly in the ribs. “I’ve never heard of any Jake before.”
“He’s just my friend,” I breathed deeply out in annoyance. “He only came two weeks ago and we were just doing homework in the library. You’re starting to sound like Skye.” I kept walking on towards my room.
    “I’m just saying...”
“That the library was just the first step. That tomorrow we’re gonna be holding hands and exchanging looks and then in a few years time he’ll be on one knee and asking me to marry him; I know. I’ve heard it all from Skye, thank you very much.”
“Okay, okay,” Mum said. “So what do you want to eat?”
“Mm...” I looked around the kitchen to see what there was. “Na, I’m alright.” I went out of the kitchen and into the next door which is my room.
I dropped my books on my bed and lay down. My head sank into my pillow and I started at my ceiling, painted with glow-in-the-dark stars.
Some might say it’s babyish to have glow-in-the-dark stars lining your roof, but you see, I Love the stars. I’ve always had this image of me and ‘him’ whoever ‘he’ might be, walking down the beach at sun set. He’d take me by the hand and lead me up the sand dunes. We’d sit on the warm sand and watch the sun slowly creep below the water line. The stars would start to appear and he’d hold me tight. He’d give me his favourite Hoodie to keep me warm. His arm would slowly sneak onto my shoulder and my head would drop to his. The stars would light up the sky and he’d kiss me in the moonlight. Yea, I’ve thought this all through when I lie in bed at night.
A month past and Jake and I were like best friends now, it was as if he’d known me forever. He understood me and knew how to make me smile. I thought about the past month as again, I stared up at my ceiling. My day dream was interrupted by the vibration in my pocket, ‘1 new message from Jake’.
Jake: Hey Cassie, just wondering if you wanna hang out tomorrow after school? If you’ve got homework I’ll come to the library with you. But if you’ve got none, wanna meet up after school and go somewhere? :)
Me: Yea, sure. I don’t think I have any homework, so I’ll see you at about half three? :)
Jake: Yea sure, what class you in last? :)
Me: Math :) See ya tomorrow :)
Just as I locked my phone, it vibrated in my hand again.
Jake: Do you wanna come out to a party tonight? It’s at Luca’s house, starts at seven. If you don’t know where it is, I’ll meet you and take you there? You can bring a friend to the party if you want :)
Me: I know where it is. :) I’ll see you there.

    Chapter Four.
We started walking towards the library with our files in our arms. He held the library door open for me, I smiled and thanked him. We started off in a basic conversation, asking for a pen and asking if he had any brothers or sisters.
“Well I don’t have any brothers or sisters; but my mum’s best friend’s son, Tommy Oliver is eight and I’ve known him all his life. I duno if that’d count but, you won’t really wanna hear about that,” He looked up from his page and his eyes fixed on mine.
‘Wow’ I thought. His eyes were amazing. They were medium blue and sparkled in the lighting. ‘He is gorgeous’ I looked at is hair shifted every time he moved his head a slight bit. I was too busy examining his amazingness that I didn’t realise I was staring him right in the eyes. He smiled and giggled slightly. Jake sat back on his chair and looked at me blushing and forcing myself to laugh.
“Don’t worry...” He grinned. “Okay, what math do you have?” Jake asked, overlooking that I was staring at him.
“Algebra,” I sighed, trying to do the same.
    “Me too,” He smiled.
Jake and I started out. I asked him for answers to certain questions and he did the same. We both started to get more comfortable with each other. After about an hour we were talking like best friends. I wasn’t worrying about saying something stupid; we’d just laugh about it. I looked down at my phone to see what time it was, 4: 56. I had two messages, one from mum and one from Skye.
Skye: How’s it going with Jake? ;) X
Me: Great, you could be right ;) x
I clicked out of it and went into the message from mum.
Mum: Cassie, Be home by half five okay? Text me or ring me back x
“I gotta be home by half five Jake, I gotta go.”
“No,” His face crumpled up with a sad expression.
“Gonna miss me that much?” I smiled.
He twisted his mouth around and looked up at me. “No...” He said, with a hint of a sarcastic tone in his voice.
“I am offended,” I put my hand to my chest and pretended to look shocked. We both laughed and with a smile I said, “Bye Jake, see ya later.” I threw my bag over my shoulder and gathered up my books against my chest.
“Wait,” He grabbed his books quickly and stood beside me. “I’m coming too.”
“What time do you have to be home at?”
“Whenever,” He said plainly as we started to walk out the library door.
“Why are you going now?” We walked down the hall.
“Wanna make sure you get home safe,” He smiled.
I smiled and breathed deeply, trying not to seem as excited and happy I really am.

    Chapter Three.
Skye and I walked on to class, talking over what could happen. She got a little carried away though.
“...Then you’ll run away together and get married and have three children. One would be called Skye of course,” She grinned up at me, but without waiting for a reply, kept talking. “...and then, you’ll grow old together and he’ll take you in his arms and...”
“Skye, we’re doing homework in the library after school! I don’t think all that could happen,” I laughed.
“Well yea, I suppose,” Her voice lessened. “But it could happen. In the future,” Her tone brightened up again.
    “Oh Skye,” I giggled.
“That’s why you Love me though,” She did a stupidly big smile right up at my face.
    “’Course,” I laughed.
We walked on into class together. That hour I spent checking the clock on the wall of the classroom, to see how long we have until home.
“Excited?” Skye whispered to me, the teacher’s voice bellowing in the back ground.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“You’ve checked the clock every five minutes Cassie. I know you’re excited.”
    “I’m not.”
“Is to, don’t lie. But heck, I’d be excited,” She winked.
    “I-,” I got cut off.
“Miss Jenkins, what is the answer to the question I just asked?” Our teacher interrupted.
    “Ah-Um...” Then the bell rang.
I gave a sigh of relief as the noise of chairs getting slid along the floor, people zipping up their bags and the loud outburst of voices filled the classroom. I quickly packed up and went to History, the last class of the day. Although history is my favourite subject, and Mr D. is my favourite teacher, I wanted this class to be over. I checked the clock; 20 minutes to go. I checked again, 10 minutes to go. Again, 5 minutes. Then one last time, three, two, one, RING, RING.
“Yes,” I said under my breath.
Everyone got up and another outburst of talking filled the classroom. Skye and I started walking out of the classroom. She was still talking about what could happen between Jake and me. Just as we got to the door, I was telling Skye that it was just doing homework in the library, that we wouldn’t have an epic love story that will end up us dying together in each other’s arms. I heard a voice come from behind me as I turned to go down the stairs.
“See ya later,” Skye said as she waved at me.
“Jake,” I smiled as I turned to face him.
“Was out of class early, just thought I’d meet you here,” He let out a small smile.
    “Okay,” I smiled.
