Two years ago today, I found this website.
And today I was thinking, 'what quote should I make to mark that?'
Because there's a lot I want to say.
Like how I could vent without having to explain or defend myself. Like how I met so many brilliant, wonderful, original, beautiful people that I wouldn't have had the chance to speak to otherwise. How I found the skills to pass my computing exam in school, just by learning how to make quotes. How I found my voice. How I inspired myself after a long hard day of worldsuck.
Over the years, Witty has changed a lot.
It's no longer just a website of funny sayings. It's no longer a website where people just complain.
I guess you could say Witty changed me a bit.
I'm still as dorky as ever, but I'm also cool with it. I'm still struggling with issues, but knowing that I'm not alone does help.
It's like this big jumble of wibblywobblytimeywimey awesomestuff to me now. I've gone through the Witty stages; of not making quotes, of obsessively faving quotes, to obsessively making quotes with bad layouts, to following everyone, to following no-one, to following whoever I want to, to not caring about the numbers and just writing.
And I'm pretty proud of the quotes I make.
I'm proud that I've talked seven people out of suicide. I'm proud that I've made someone's day with a friendly comment. I'm proud of layouts that I worked on, or series that I've continued. I'm happy.
So anyway, I just wanted to say thanks, Witty...
for two years today.♥
