"Excuse me, do you have the time?" I ask a woman wearing a silver dress.
"Ten to." She says, checking her watch.
"Thank you." I walk away and stand near the steps, waiting for my darling to come so we can enter the gala together.
I pace the floor and straighten my green, floor length gown. I look up and my heart skips a beat.
Descending elegantly from the large staircase is my beauty, wearing a straight orange gown that accents her curves.
I gulp and take a deep breath.
As she is halfway down she sees me and smiles widely.
"Hello, sweetie." I say when she reaches the bottom of the stairs.
She reaches for my hand and says, "Sorry for making you wait, darling."
"Oh, it's fine, Princess, I was just fixing my hair."
"Okay, ready to go in?"
"Hmm?" I ask, my mind wandering.
"Into the gala, baby." She giggles.
"Oh, yes. Let's." I look away, blushing.
"You're adorable."
"Shut up. Lets go." I start walking, leading my little girl through the doors.
Once in, we take to the dance floor. We dance three slow songs together and then two faster paced songs. Laughing and smiling, we retreat to a table to rest.
"I am having so much fun." I say, smiling.
"So am I, I love being able to do things like this."
"Me, too."
She leans over and kisses me, brushing her hand over my cheek and smiling as she does so.
I smile and wonder if it will ever get better, knowing in my soul it will.

It seems like a lot of Wittians are going through some really tough times right now. I've seen a lot of quotes about suicide, and suicide is never the answer. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Whatever you're going through, it will get better. It always does. Everyone was put here for a reason and has a purpose on Earth. Usually it takes a long time to find what that purpose is but I promise you there is one. I know you've probably heard all this a million times but I truly believe it. Everything will get better. Think back to kindergarten when someone stole your swing or crayon, or your sibling called you a name, and you said you hated them and would never forgive them. You probably didn't talk to them for the rest of the day and were mad at them for a little while but you don't still hate them now do you? I bet you forgave them by the next day and forgot all about it. Well your problems now may be a lot worse than them, but you'll make it through them, just like you got through those arguments in elementary school. Whatever problem your having will get better. You're young and have a whole life ahead of you. You have made it this far, why stop now? That would mean your whole life was a waste. And it sure as heck wasn't! If you left now all your friends and family would be heartbroken. Including your Witty family.
