Lost girl
Bruises on willowy legs, and some cuts on her thin wrist
She is going away, and wonders if she will be missed
Sitting quitely on the cold groud
She says she's not lost, but she doesn't want to be
found
Her hair hides her face, and her arms show her pain
She wonders if anyone will remember her name
She wonders how people ignore her
With her pain showing through her skin
No matter how much she fights
She can never win
Her bones are breakable, and her closest friend
Is the voice in her head, that likes to pretend
She's always cold, her mind is always racing
she will skip a meal, to cope with the pain she's facing
Small like a bird, people tell her she's weak
Her voice is so quite, that she's afraid to speak
She's a butterfly, who can't fly away
She likes the night, because she can hide from the day
Her eyes are pale green, her skin is pale white
Her mind is so dark, its hard to see a light
People look down on her, they say she pretends
they say her suffering isn't real
but her suffering never really ends
Her stomach is always empty, and so is her heart
There is no one around, while she slowly falls apart
Because it really doesn't matter where you go
If the problem is in your head
Then its all that you know
All she wants is to be free
She can't escape her mind
She doesn't know what else to be
I wish people could understand
what it feels like to be dead
Not the kind where you are buried
But a feeling in your head
This poem is about how much having anorexia
affects my life, how it causes more people to ignore me, and how no
one around me really takes it seriously, and would rather blame me
for it, then try to offer
support
