Annika's P.O.V. 

"Annika?" I calm, quiet voice whispered in my ear. It was too early be woken up and I wasn't moving. But that voice, it sounded like Cam, before he was a drunken basta- I'm not going to say that word. Not the voice itself, the tone, the gentleness it possessed. The way it cooed instead of actually speaking, like it was afraid of hurting me. There was only one person who still spoke to me like that. Niall. "Wake up," He whispered again, lightly pressing a kiss to my temple. I turned my head in confusion. He was supposed to be gone. Out living the dream, leaving me to sit here and wonder. 

Wonder if I could survive even a week without him around. Wonder why I was naive to trust someone who would leave me. Wonder why I fell in love with someone I shouldn't have. No matter what. He shouldn't have been here. I rolled over slowly opening my eyes to see the beautiful blonde boy in front of me. Small tears pooling in the corner of his eyes. I instantly shut my eyes again, not wanting to see him cry. Ash quietly slipped into my bed, ducking under my arm like a scared toddler after a nightmare. I held her tight, wishing that she could stay. That they could both stay. 

"Annika?" Niall whispered again, sitting on the edge of my bed, and gently rubbing circles into my back. His palm was warm and soothing. Like he was trying to wipe away any pain I had ever felt. "Please look at me," I looked up as his voice took a soft pleading tone. Little droplets of water sprinkled down his cheeks, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek. I tightened my grip of Ash, trying to stop her from shaking with sobs. "Will you please get up and come to the airport with us?" Niall whispered, his forehead gently pressing against my temple. 

I slowly wiggled out of the covers, walking to the bathroom. I knew I wouldn't have time to take a shower, so I just tugged up a pair of dark wash jeans and a red spider man sweater. The soft material quickly warming my chilled skin. I lined my eyes with a dark layer of makeup, I slipped on a pair of socks, along with my red high tops, the gold eyelets the same color as the lettering on my shirt. I checked my ears, making sure all my earrings were still in, and quickly pinned my Anthem Made beanie to my slightly waved hair. I walked back out of the bathroom as Niall handed me a gold ring I wore almost everyday, and my big Avenger's headphones. I smiled sadly at him, sliding my headphones down around my neck. Niall's P.O.V. 

*At the airport* 

No one said anything the entire drive to the airport. I kept pulling Annika closer, wanting to tell her how much I loved her and how much I would miss her, but every time my fingers brushed her shoulder she pulled away. Ash snuggling closer to Annika's side. One of Ash's hands squeezing tightly to Annika's. It broke my heart to see Ash so scared, knowing it was my fault she had to leave. As we walked towards the security line, I knew Ash and I had to say goodbye to everyone, and suddenly I regretted the  decision to leave. Because I had the one chance to tell Annika how I really felt, but instead I just hugged her, and let the love of my life walk away.
